Great video Daniel! I also subscribe to Outdoors with the Morgan's. I have learned a lot from you, Mike Morgan, Stoney Ridge as well as Dutch. There are other channels as well.
I'm with you Daniel, give me those woods sits any day, especially early while those acorns are falling! Let's not forget, deer are browsers by choice and grazers out of necessity. As long as their preferred foods are available (pretty much year around here in Alabama) I'm in there with them!
Hey Daniel , I was always taught to roll your seed , doesn’t take much ,an old lawn roller and a 4 wheeler. Just tryin to help. Long time subscriber ... thanks again. Craig. Pa guy
You did a great job making those trails, but I don't think the power rake would work that well in the mountains. Making trails in the northeast takes a lot of time. I'm looking forward to seeing some hunting videos!
Looks like you are about ready for deer season. I bought some whole oats today at the feed store for the chickens and ducks. My husband ask me if they could be planted. I said no but now I think about it was the wheat that does not grown well unless it for planting. I know what you are talking about. My dad hunted for the meat but he sure liked getting the big bucks. We live in TX. but he would go to Colorado hunting to get the mule deer. Good luck on getting the big buck.
Smart thinking Daniel.....but I hope a couple of them bucks outsmart ya.....just cuz I love animals.....but I get it.....I couldn't do it I don't think. You're all right tho....I love your channel
Its ok to hunt those secluded areas for bucks in the early season but when it gets close to the rut I start looking for where the does are because at that time where you find does you will find bucks.
Yes I enjoyed another great video, I just want to say again that y'alls property is beautiful, hope you and EmmaLee get a big buck this year, is Dutch going to hunt there this year, I know he mentioned it before? Bella looked like she was thirsty, waiting on you patiently, she's so cute!! thanks for sharing, have a great day see ya in the next video!!
+Arms Family Homestead your very welcome, I'm glad your gonna give Dutch a chance, that's what good friends is all about, God Bless you all, be safe out there!!
Great stuff sir. This is my first year plotting deer. I recently got a feeder that is timed release. The 5 gallon bucket hang from a limb kind. I had deer galore. I put that up about fifteen feet in the air. After that, no deer. I'm stumped. On my cams I have a few spikes coming through and a ton of doe. I want to get a two person stand like yours, but I know nothing about them. I looked at one and it says 15ft tall. Is that the usual height? I feel like that is not high enough. I can't wait to see some good video of yall hunting. Love your channel sir. Between you and Lumnah acres you can't go wrong.
Arms Family Homestead well if you ever have the chance a video with some tips would be awesome. We are newish to the country. We don’t hunt personally (though we do live on a hunting ranch) but obviously have a need to take them out if we can, worried about our son going outside. No fencing
i bought a real cheap cover crop too for some areas in my yard that used to be lawn, we have clay soil here and i let both my lawns die a few years ago during the drought in CA. i laid down wood chips in this area so now im trying to figure out should i broadcast right on top of the wood-chips or rake them aside first?
the wood chips were laid down 4” deep a year ago, now i’d guess not quite 2” deep. (my neighbors and husband think i have lost my marbles, luckily the husband just humors me, lol.) i guess i will try it both ways and see what happens? i’m retired so i got nothing but time. 😎😀
Well the cost difference in the seed mix is huge and I really think in order to get enough legumes to put down that much nitrogen would be very expensive. I know that the deer will love this wheat mix and it grows very fast. There is nothing wrong with a good clover patch but it is more work to get started and to maintain.
Daniel and DJ I was raised on a farm Im 73 years young lol. And I just love your videos. Any and all of them
Great video Daniel! I also subscribe to Outdoors with the Morgan's. I have learned a lot from you, Mike Morgan, Stoney Ridge as well as Dutch. There are other channels as well.
I don't hunt myself but I can appreciate someone who does. Have a great day.
great job!!
My 60 acres is mostly wooded..
I'm going to create some hidden food plots now.
Then hunting will be better next year..
Good luck this deer season Daniel, hope y'all get a bigin!
I don’t know if you still make Vedic’s. But you should be. Very nice job
Great video Daniel thanks for the insight on preparing your food plots. "Bring on that big buck"

Your property is so beautiful!!!
Thank you!
I love your videos Daniel and you have a awesome family

That is the way I seed my rye food plot here in WI!

It won't stop raining here, driving me crazy
We are forecast to get rain the next 4 days.

If you buy whole oats you can plant them. Crimped oats will not grow though.
Good to know. I knew crimped will not grow, but when I saw your video I thought I was wrong about the whole oats growing.
love the view its beautiful
You have a beautiful place.
I giggle each time you say air-corn. Patater Potato.
Smart thinking Daniel.....but I hope a couple of them bucks outsmart ya.....just cuz I love animals.....but I get it.....I couldn't do it I don't think. You're all right tho....I love your channel

I agree, but like I said this ladder stand is very close to the big field. The does will still use those travel lanes.
I see Bella is helping you Daniel
She's always there!

Thank you! Yes I think old Dutch might get a chance.
+Arms Family Homestead your very welcome, I'm glad your gonna give Dutch a chance, that's what good friends is all about, God Bless you all, be safe out there!!
How many deer do you expect to get? Bear looks like he’s thirsty!
We usually only harvest 2-3 but I also have a few other people that I let hunt sometimes. Maybe even my buddy Dutch this year.
hi your place is beautful
I meat hunt opening day lol

15 ft is a bout typical for a ladder stand.
You should be getting some of that rain this weekend eh?
Yep
Nice job!
Jo Jo in VT 💕 😊
So we are about an hour north of you and we’ve got wild hogs. Wondering if you’ve seen any?
Yes we have quite a few in our area.
Arms Family Homestead well if you ever have the chance a video with some tips would be awesome. We are newish to the country. We don’t hunt personally (though we do live on a hunting ranch) but obviously have a need to take them out if we can, worried about our son going outside. No fencing
Karen Ingram I do have a few hog trapping videos
Arms Family Homestead oh awesome. Shoulda looked. I’ll have hubby check them out. Thankya
Do you have hunters coming on your property With out your permission? Thank s for making such fine videos!
,
It happens sometimes but not too often
I love ❤️ seeing those deers👌 you and your video of course 😂😂😂but don’t kill those deers👌
How much does it cost to rent a skid steer and that brush cutter?
I believe that model of skid steer is $250 per day and the mower is $125 per day.
Daniel, With that set-up I could get some serious land clearing done on our 38 wooded acres in northern Tennessee.
What's with all the commercial...it's happening on all the UA-cam channel??
i bought a real cheap cover crop too for some areas in my yard that used to be lawn, we have clay soil here and i let both my lawns die a few years ago during the drought in CA. i laid down wood chips in this area so now im trying to figure out should i broadcast right on top of the wood-chips or rake them aside first?
Well I’m not really sure. I think it depends on the depth of the wood chips and how broken down they are.
the wood chips were laid down 4” deep a year ago, now i’d guess not quite 2” deep. (my neighbors and husband think i have lost my marbles, luckily the husband just humors me, lol.) i guess i will try it both ways and see what happens? i’m retired so i got nothing but time. 😎😀
Why choose a mix without legumes if you're just gonna put down nitrogen?
Well the cost difference in the seed mix is huge and I really think in order to get enough legumes to put down that much nitrogen would be very expensive. I know that the deer will love this wheat mix and it grows very fast. There is nothing wrong with a good clover patch but it is more work to get started and to maintain.
Was you bear foot plant'n that wheat?
LOL, no I had shoes on.
🐗🐗🐗
poor bella she looks hot.
