Running an ozone generator overnight will kill all odors and residue from rodents. Commonly uses by car dealers to remove odors from used cars. I bought one on Amazon for $30. Works great!
I know you weren't looking for a project but a makeover with this rv, but I think you'll wind up liking it better(and know it is cleaner) when you're done.
Yes I agree and with a total remodel she will know how to handle any problems that my come up in the future. There won’t be any guessing as to how and where things are located in the rv.
DANG GIRL!!!! I hopped over here from Isaac's channel after hearing you got a new RV!!!! How exciting!! Congrats!! But man, I had no idea what you were going through with it! The good news is your decorating skills are top notch so this gut, although not what you hoped for, will be STUNNING and so fresh and clean and safe for Ember!!! Can't wait to see through the process!!! Oh and for mice.... There are these little balls of repellent that include peppermint oil on Amazon and comes with sash bags you put them in to tie anywhere you want or you can just put the ball itself in each cabinet or areas of concern. They work well - I use them on my Sprinter. Spiders also hate peppermint!!! You can tie a couple underneath your rig too (of course not where they will be at risk of catching fire or anything weird) - GOOD LUCK TO YOU!! Can't wait to see the new home on wheels! 🎉🎉🎉
I think it’s all for a reason! I think the audience is interested in the rebuild!! So sorry this happened but grl u deserve the hype and views!! I’ve silently watched u for years . Ur such a real chic!! Praying nothing but the best for you and ember and ur channel!!
Check all the exterior covers for access points for rodents. Make sure vents are screened. Also, lay under the rv with a good light and look for entry points/openings. Especially check where cables and pipes enter the coach. Plug any holes you find. A mouse can squeeze through a hole the size of a dime.
So happy for you, Jaylena, that you have such a good relationship with RecPro. For them to support you with this much of the build material is a tremendous benefit and helps to relieve much of the stress.
Steel wool also keeps rodents out of holes as well just pack the steel wool in the holes @peppermint oil.. keep up the fabulous job.. get her done...❤ Happy new year🎉
I just had an overwhelming feeling that it would be SO AWESOME to have your poetry turned into music 💥 DANG honey,, it hit me as soon as I heard the music choice you put in the beginning of the vid after the intro✨️🙌✨️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️🙌
Oh this reminds me so much of my first trailer where the seller hid all the defects and lied. I actually named that trailer "Poor Baby" because she had been so abused. Every time I found another problem, I was saying "Oh you poor baby!", so that became her name. Jaylena, you are doing such a bangup job in gutting and cleaning.
It’s a good job you’re checking every part of the RV then you know that everything will be as you want it to be. And no more bad surprises! I wish you good luck in all your projects! It will be great 👍 once finished! 😊
You are gonna be so happy and confident in your rig when it’s all done. It’s all gonna be worth it. And your gonna be glad you had to replace redo and reorganize everything!
Place a couple of bowls filled up with white vinegar to get rid of any lingering nasty smells. You can also mix half vinegar and half water put into a spray bottle and spray surfaces. The vinegar smell goes after a while and leaves a fresher smell.
Hi Jalena peppermint oil extract is supposed to change a mouses plan to take over your RV .Worth a try. Haveca nice day. Tom up in Canada in the Maritimes at the NB-NS border.
Jaylena doesn't stand and wring her hands crying woe is me, does she. She takes the bull by the horns and gets it done no matter what it is. Not many these days would or could.
To repel mice, make some simple sachets using cotton balls, muslin tea bags and essential oils. Peppermint , lavender, lemongrass, and clove all work well. You simply soak the cotton in the oils and place them in the tea bags. Makes the space smell nice and repels critters.
Glad to see that you are wearing a mask and gloves. Don’t want to get sick breathing in all that foulness. Now mad props to you for all the hard work you are doing. I know it’s not what you signed up for but with the quality of work you do you’re gonna love this so much better. You are awesome and your attitude is fantastic. Keep up the good work. See you next year.❤
Hey little sister, I’m pretty new to the channel but from what I’ve seen you are a hard driving adventure. And I think your RV is going to look absolutely fantastic once you finish. Everything in life is a challenge and you are accepting this challenge and working to improve it. I can’t say enough, you have my admiration. Keep rocking it sister. Always move forward, never to the sides, and never back, always forward.
It's actually called ODO BAN and the eucalyptus (the original scent) is the best one,it also is a disinfectant that will kill most any germ I've been using it for 20 plus years, they also now have a spray can similar to a lysol...available at home depot and wal mart too
Bless your heart! One thing I can say is that you are a hard worker and take on a lot of challenges! I know that it will all be worth it in the long run. Then you and Ember can have a great life together in you home on wheels! God bless you Jaylena! Have a Happy New Year!!!🎊🎆🎈 🎉
It's better that you are tearing everything out and steam cleaning, that way you know what's in your Chinook! I know it's alot of work, but you will have peace when it's all done. Happy New Years ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I'm a motorcoach driver and we have the same rodent problems. Eternabond tape for the roof and LED replacement lights with bayonet connector. You can get them in different colors to.(Night light).
Oh!! One more thing - my dad has a truck with this same Triton V10 engine. It's a hog at 10mpg but it has required VERY LITTLE maintenance however the fuel pump just went out. If you start to notice issues with starting the RV intermittently, that's the sign. ❤
I admire your tenacity and positive attitude to the situation you found yourself in. You trusted the seller and were lied to but you’re persevering to move forward with a “make lemonade out of lemons” attitude. Kudos to you for accepting the challenges you are facing. Ignore the haters, they are miserable keyboard cowards who would fold under similar circumstances whining about how bad they have it. Those kind of people aren’t worth the time or acknowledgment. Looking forward to the final product, I’m sure it will be beautiful! Happy New Year! 🎉🙏🏼
They make a pest control polyurethane (lots of brands) that has rodent blockers in it. When u get that rv stripped on the inside you could wait for dark and shine a really bright spotlight either inside the rv or underneath it and go on the opposite side, in the dark to find light shining in and use the expanding foam to seal those suckers out and use fresh cab rodent repellent inside. I have an old classic corvette and the fresh cab seems to keep them out of it.
Jaylena, I have watched like a thousand van builds over the years and I wanted to tell you how much I’ve enjoyed watching yours because of your honesty and your attitude. You are a better person than me for sure, I would have shamed the seller and trashed him publicly, but you are truly a good person and you renew my faith in the kindness of humanity. Can’t wait to see the build take place. Blessings, your a light to others.
You're taking it all in stride and it will be 💋 (chef's kiss) when you're done! The lights are amazing, almost as amazing as your book. Deeply heartfelt written.
Put steel wool around all water pipes and electrical plugs that gp to the outside. Then original Irish spring in areas near. I have not had trouble With mice since I did that.
You guys have everything tore apart it has got to be challenging in your relationship right now. I wish you all in your family a Happy New Year! Keep up the hard work! Enjoyed the Serenity Prayer song.
You've got this Jaylena! Keep your upbeat smile. It is so uplifting and inspiring to your viewers. You might consider setting a few mouse traps to get rid of any pests that remain and that are looking for a new place to dwell. Is that piece of wood that lifted with the Velcro a secret compartment to hide your valuables?
I agree some others in saying remove everything including cabinets to make sure there isn't any water damage and whatever else made be there. More than likely you will not be able to get all the mice poop and pee out, unless done otherwise. You can always put your cabinets back in. I know it will a lot of work, and work that you will always be proud of. Hugs and God Bless you.
Wow, that was a rat haven. You are winning the battle. I was glad to see you wear a mask and take precautions to avoid the rat mess. I'm sure you will soon have that place clean and beautiful.
Didn’t hear you talk about the fresh, black and grey tanks. In case you don’t know. You can sterilize the fresh and have the black and grey pressure cleaned (also talk to the guy when he comes out about toilet paper to use). Or if going off grid both tanks can be opened to one another so you have double storage for grey.
those lights are really nice the good thing about having to do all this work is at the end you will know your home is clean safe and tailored to your taste.
Looks like a real mouse/rat trap you got there. You have a big project going on there. Great progress so far. I can relate, I bought a small travel trailer and thought i could rebuild it, there was so much rot, i ended up with a frame, and had to completely rebuild it. Was a fun project. I live in it to this day!
Hi Jalena when installing LED lights remember that they are polarity sensitive. Your power wire has to go to the correct wire on the light . Have a nice day. Tom up in Canada
You are doing a spectacular job with cleaning tearing out and just getting it done! This is going to be far better than had it been in ok condition cuz now it will be fabulous 😅. I can’t wait too see the finished project but l love watching the process next you are immediately putting the content out and is going so much faster than for people that go so slow 😊 you are killing this!!! Very excited for You and Ember Wild to have a very nice home ❤️😎❤️
You are making great progress. I think the mice messes have gotten to you a bit and I don't blame you. You should wear an N-95 mask during your demo because of the droppings. I can't wait to see her finished. Love the videos. I'm rooting for you, like my own daughter.
What an inspiration you are. Your audacity is so amazing to watch. Thank you for making your channel and I am sure cheering you on!!! All the best of the season and its going to be a wonderful new year for sure!!!

Old RV’s always have things falling apart and rodents. It’s the chance you take even if the RV was taken care of. I would 100% suggest replacing the fresh water tank, it would be horrible to redo everything and then have it crack.
WOW, that was a big nest!! Glad you found it. I was wondering where the mice were getting in, glad you found the hole so you can seal it up. I'm curious what you might find behind the fridge and oven. 😳 Oh, I like the new lights!!

Recpro sounds like a really great company! Nice to have such a solid sponsor.
@@azbababooey Yaaaassss! It’s great to get free shit!
line the closet with cedar! that will help deter future critters
That’s what I’m thinking!
@@LeaveHerWild you can accomplish the same by placing cedar blocks around areas.
Plus the cedar smell Devine
I agree use cedar in all closed areas. Also put mothballs in closets as a deterrent. Good luck and hang in there girl.
@@BigDreamsTinyBudget That would be for moths.
I know you weren't looking for this big remodel, but its such a great rebuilding series. We all love it

I agree. This young lady is a hard worker. She will be successful ❤😊
More costly but all to her likes.....😊
Yes I agree and with a total remodel she will know how to handle any problems that my come up in the future. There won’t be any guessing as to how and where things are located in the rv.
DANG GIRL!!!! I hopped over here from Isaac's channel after hearing you got a new RV!!!! How exciting!! Congrats!! But man, I had no idea what you were going through with it! It's interesting and fun watching your vision.
Here's a thought for ya.
It's not what ya buy. It's what ya build.
Thanks for sharing your journey.
You do have to start somewhere, don't you. It's just a shame that it was presented as in great condition.
So happy for you, Jaylena, that you have such a good relationship with RecPro. For them to support you with this much of the build material is a tremendous benefit and helps to relieve much of the stress.

It also keeps crawling bugs out. They don’t like the scent either. Eucalyptus also works is that’s a better smell for you.
I tried it and it didn’t work
I admire your stamina and perseverance throughout all these challenges!
Jaylena doesn't stand and wring her hands crying woe is me, does she. She takes the bull by the horns and gets it done no matter what it is. Not many these days would or could.

What a blessing that you have the skills to fix this up. I’m invested in this build now and look forward to each video!

That was one great video! Good sounds too!!
I think you should look at the bottom of your RV and see if there any holes or areas where the mice got it and seal them up as well.

Looking great. Love the sleek light too. You’re doing a great job. ❤

Thanks for sharing Prayers And Happy New Year 🎆🎊
Happy New Year, Jaylena!!!❤
good work its comming along nicely cant wait to see the finished product.
The music is so beautiful
Any cracks or holes stuff with stealwool, the mice can not chew through, make sure you double check the underside of the RV they can litterly sqeaze through a 1/4in crack.
