I was 6 when I watched the match on a black and white TV. Fantastic! There were no Mackems then, we used to call ourselves Geoedies! Funny how times change. Most Sunderland fans were cheering Newcastle on the year after this.
I was working at Texaco Refinery Pembroke. I was soaked through and I had just about had enough. I left and went back to the digs in Tenby. Got a shower, dry clothes and a dry jacket. Went down to Tenby town and was absolutely delighted to see Sunderland win! Great afternoon I'll never forget!
