I just literally bought WF-C700N today and I can say that the noise cancellation feature is totally fine. It blocks almost all the sounds. I tried it outside and it works well as an overear/headphones. The downside I would say is the mic, it sounds so muffled if there are too many background noise. So if you need an earbuds for calls/meetings, I dont recommend WF-C700N. It's lightweight. I dont have much to say about the battery since I just got it. All I can say is that the noise cancelling feature is great. My phone is Iphone 13 and it connects fine
@@svrt5832 I would say it’s fine, I recently tested it recording an audio and if there’s wind noise, it does the job and cancels most of that annoying wind noise

Unfortunately, I did not hear any change at all. At 130 eur, it doesnt seem worth it. Especially after witnessing the Linkbuds S go on sale on Black Friday last year for $128, it seems like the C700n is worth it. Great comparison!

Hey guys, I just got the WF-C700N and the audio you hear on this video is from the default audio you get out of the box. When you customise them through the app it’s a completely different story. I enjoy the audio quality on these
As a DSP engineer who has worked on and tested many headset noise cancellation systems, my opinion is that the ANC on these headsets is really quite poor. With only 1 (external) ANC mic on each ear, it's barely noticeable toggling between ANC on and ANC off. There is no low frequency cancellation that is standard with more advanced feedback ANC systems, so the wearer's own voice still sounds "boomy" due to occlusion, unlike feedback ANC where low-frequency noise is reduced more significantly. I would not recommend these headsets if you're hoping for good ambient noise reduction.
@@userbeverage I'm not a fan of the in-ear buds form-factor, so I can't really recommend any TBH. I stick to over-the-ear type, which generally do a better job at noise cancellation, and are more comfortable to me. In my experience, Sony and Bose both do exceptionally well at ANC on their premium headsets, so I was rightly disappointed with these ear-buds. My current personal headset is Sony WH-1000XM4, which has exceptional ANC, easily on par with Bose.
Are the c700 significantly better in bass than the linkbuds? I see this gentlemans disappointment with the c700 but at the same time i want what sounds good for music especially with bass.
What you say maybe true but the important thing about these buds is that they are so incredibly cheap! Even brand new in UK they are under £100 GB! That's incredible for brand new earphones and pretty soon they'll probably have multi-point Bluetooth as well making them very good value for money and I think the sound is very good too with wide soundstage and even surprisingly deep bass depending on how equaliser is set. Very good value for money. And they comfortable to wear as well and don't hurt my ears.
Thanks for your great reviews! I'm happy with the XM4 so I'm not considering the other models. By the way my XM4 earbuds were much improved by using these tips: Final Audio Type E, which gave me a better seal, and better sound and noise cancelling, compared to the stock tips.
Just got the WFC700N this October 2024 and most likely, the firmware got updated so that not the sound quality plus the ANC are of good quality. It's definitely way superior than my old Jabra Elite 3, so it's probably a good replacement purchase.

If Sony used hybrid/dual NC mics on this model, the NC performance might be too close to the LinkBuds S, so this is most likely why they only used one NC mic, feedforward. While the case is longer than the LInkBuds S, it is also less tall. Wireless charging could have been added but guess Sony feels this is a "premium" feature. Overall they sound better than the outgoing model, EQ should also help make the highs better but when comparing the WF-C500 to WF-C700N, the new model wins in terms of sound and comfort. Price wise, I feel they are too expensive, and should be closer to the original WF-C500 price. I suspect the 5mm driver is shared with the LinkBuds S.
Thanks for your input! Guess they had to try and differentiate it from the LinkBuds S while positioning it as an upgrade to C500. But yea, it's priced a bit too high imo.
I got 700 for the 50 USD and also got dual pairing update. The sound comparison on this video shows 700 and linkbuds are very similar but it's day and night difference when xm4 come into play (they are bright). I also think you can tune 700 to perform similar to linkbuds (judging the audio sample from this vid)
Hearing from the sample, I find 700 and Linkbuds similar and less bright compared to xm4 they are bright (day and night difference among them) so I got 700 for 50 USD while linkbuds were 110 usd in India so that's that and I think not shure I think you can tune 700 to perform similar to linkbuds (sound).
I just wish that they would improve upon the original LinkBuds because I LOVE the openness since they are PERFECT to use for just background music, you can talk while listening to music with no problems at all. The only improvement that I feel is needed on LinkBuds is to get the bass speaker deeper in to you ear because the bass is greatly improved if you press the thing in to your ears. I do not care for noice canceling on earphones because it is kind of a dangerous feature in many situations and it distorts the sound that you pick up from surroundings. I have had my LinkBuds for over an year now and use them almost daily at work and they are still AMAZING.
Solid comparisons. Just got the C700's today and still deciding if I will keep them. Per your comparisons, XM4 was obvious winner, then the C700 slightly edged the Linkbuds S in music tests. Mic tests put the order as Linkbuds S, XM4, C700. Thx for the detailed review!!

Don't. They will break in a month or 2 or days. I've had three pairs and they have all broken the same way. They work for a bit then one of the buds develops a very loud blowing sound when ANC or transparent mode is on rendering those modes unusable. First pair broke after 2 months, second after 1.5 months, 3rd after 1 day. It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. They need to be recalled, the Sony headphones subreddit is filled with people experiencing the same issue. They're garbage and a waste of money.

These are an improvement over the 1st gen buds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxK5mc3yw4xA7Mf2j6k6n1Uqv_KUgrKdeM Pros: The fit is fantastic. This is the biggest plus. They stay in my ears when running and become unnoticeable. They are tight but comfortable. The sound quality is about the same as the 1st gen buds. They pair more easily with my LG G8 ThinQ and immediately reconnect when removed from the case. The sound balance is excellent, good but not overpowering base and clean mid tones and highs.Cons: The noise cancellation is good but perhaps a little less effective than the Bose ANC on the 1st gen buds. Passthrough mode as not as good as the 1st gen buds making it a little more difficult to hear conversations when in passthrough.

I can get the linkbuds S for the same price as these 700n, I'll get the linkbuds instead
that's no brainer
and linkbuds s is all u will ever need
Got the Linkbuds S few days ago, as I couldn't see the point in buying the new 700n at the same price. I already have the 500n tho
@@duke605 you either the most reckless, or the least lucky person to get all the defective one, my brother own one and never had problems, beside subpar fit and finish, which for the price could be a lot better, since that they use recycled plastic, the QC took a toll, which is funny bcs it makes it somewhat cheaper feeling than their C500, which is also weird bcs their XM5 Headphones feel more expensive with the new "recycled" plastic material
Still rocking the c500s, nice!
Because of the c500 having similar call quality and sound quality to the 700, it seem like a good value especially priced below US suggested retail of $99.00.
@@ericb3452Bought the Link buds S recently, and for 140 eur its a no brainer, c700s are almost obsoleted with this pricing
In many ways link buds are better than xm4 I would defo recommend them
Link Buds S are awesome. I unfortunately lost one side in a store parking lot and reordered a pair off of eBay. I think they are even better than Nura...
What is the function of the small button on each ear bud and how do I customize it
The small "button" is the microphone.
Ferrari hat for the XM4s and BMW shirt for the Linkbuds was a solid touch 😆
Hi Aaron, thanks for ur review:) Unfortunately, LinkBuds S ($219) is more exp than C700N ($179).
Best Buy has the link buds for $140
$108 on Amazon now
I managed to get the Sony Linkbuds S at USD120, a great performer and value that price!
In Peru, c700n are 80 dollars, link buds s are usually around 150-160, but the ANC of the c700n is very dissapoint
Apparently XM4 is the clear winner here, the call quality might be solved with a firmware update as sony did it already on the linkbuds s
Hey Aaron, which buds do you recommend at around $120 (near nothing ear 2) ? ANC and good sound is priority
Amazon Echo Buds 2 are a great option or the Redmi Buds 4 Pro, both can be had for little under 80€
I ended up grabbing C700 after my XM4 died today. Bought it on a pretty good sale. Once my XM4 comes back from repairs then I'll keep the C700 as an extra incase the XM4 batteries dies on me again 😅
I bought the Linkbuds S and had to return them because they hurt my ears. There was no way to use them comfortably
C700N are 🔥🔥🔥 If you like bass go get them Only thing that's not likeable is the battery life
The vocal of WF-C700N sounds like something cover my ears.
Big time muffled?
I wanted to take the xm4 but honestly im upset why they make it so big and they silicon tips has changed in this kind of foam material…always there is something wrong
Bro link buds s or galaxy buds 2 pro ??
Thx, awesome review
No problem!
Very well done! 🙏🏾
I like the Sony LinkBuds S.
Greetings from The Hague!
What would you prefer Jabra elite 4 or sony c700n.
I have equal priority to call quantity too
i experience treble distortion with the wf-c700n. very annoying. the overall sound quality is acceptable, though i'm going to replace them with the xm5 buds and hope for the best.
I had a set of these…fine for a few months and then the right bid went silent . Cleaned it. Still nothing. Avoid these things.
Prefer linkbuds s or wfc 700 n ?
I wish the higher-end ones had the button control. I hate the flakey touch controls that tech companies are obsessed with, but that doesn't mean I also want to listen to everything through a pillow.
great review! thank you.
Would you go for the Sony Linkbuds S or the Soundcore Liberty pro 3 at the same price?😊
I got 700n for 46 dollar...Amazon india Great festival deal. Fully satisfied with this price 🤑🤑.
NB : Now the sale online for 48 dollar with HDFC credit card.
They all sound muffled or is it just me
Очень мечтаю купить Сони 1000 wf mark 4, но они такие дорогие, поэтому пока что коплю деньги, к сожалению у нас в России не так сильно популярны наушники Сони, в основном все напали на Aple продукцию air pods
Good sharing, Aaron!
Thank you!
@@aaronloudnwireless I should be the one who should say, thank you! THANK YOU!
@@KL-xv5gj No problem 😁
Buds s ldac still around 4h😢 mx4 bulky but still strong
Sony WF-C700N or Earfun Air Pro 3?
Im done with Sonny.. i love the design and sound but they burned me twice.. 5 years ago with a sony experia phone whatever the name is.. the top of the line.. dead in a month and carrier refused to change it, i dont get sony support cuz i dont live in the first world.. now the xm4 drain after update 2.0 lasted less than a year.. im done
why you did not review oneplus buds pro yet ?
After the last update, the one on the left doesn't charge fully and drains very quickly. Need a quick solution, or boycott Sony
Wfc500 and wfc700 fit the best for me out of all
Did I notice the linkbuds S beat the XM4's in Noise Cancelling? 👀👀. I dont remember that happening when you first reviewed them.
Los superó?
@@diegolagos2341 huh?
@@DoubleT2323 linkbus is better then than wf1000xm4?
Could you make a comparison of the oneplus buds pro 2 vs the sony wf 1000xm4 please😢
Does anyone else experience high volume issues where the bass is reduced ?
Good video,, really informative
I love the Sony wf1000 xm4 but they don't fit in my ear 😭😭
Which country manufacturer this pair ?
Sony, duh.
I like the demon which u gave for a anc thing thankyou
I was waiting this for days
