It's good to hear that you are speaking from 20 years experience as a DJ, your background lends far more weight to your opinion than the next tech channel reviewing audio. You ought to open with that on the next audio product you review
I think there was some research a few years back that said sound quality was the 3rd or 4th most important thing when it comes to headphones/earphones. That baffled me.
I bought the C500's for my daughter last Xmas. She loved them. She has AirPods now and the Sonys have been given to my wife. After a year of daily use the battery is still going strong and they still work perfectly.
Also an audiophile here, would love some IEM or closed-back recommendations for sim racing. I wonder what's good for enduring something like the sound of a 5 litre flat 12 at wide open throttle for the length of Mulsanne Straight, without causing fatigue after just a few laps
It’s plenty of bass for TWS earbuds. Just turn the clear bass up to 10 if you want the punchiest bass ever. I have the over ear WH1000XM4’s and the bass is comparable to my over ear Sony’s eq’d the same with clear bass on 5.
100% sgree on physical buttons over touch controls. I can't stand thumping on the earbud repeatedly to get it to pause, if I'm lucky. Not to mention being able to use them with gloves on. I think I would put physical buttons as one of my top tier criteria, but sadly they're harder and harder to find these days.
Ive never heard of codex sound quality till you mentioned it, I learned something new.
If you care about sound quality and use BT then it's the most important thing to check when looking at new earbuds!
Just bought it today and this video help me get a grasp of what It is. Thanks a lot mate
Glad I could help!
My biggest gripe with bluetooth is the lag experienced whilst watching UA-cam. A great informative video, thanks Karl.
Yeah you'd need APTX LL or Adaptive APTX which few have.
In 2024? That sounds insane...wow

I'll bear that in mind as you are quite correct!

I think people just want convenience over everything else these days mate.
Another great review! Thanks Karl
My pleasure!
I had the c500's and loved them until one of them stopped working, just got these for $38 shipped, hopefully they serve me well.
Yeah I think they are decent mate!
Great review, i wanted to buy these, but i was not sure.
Glad I could help
Thanks mate. Quick comment to feed the algorithm.
Thanks for that mate!
Can you pleasw How was the mic quality? During in the noisy environment?
Apologies I forgot to cover this, the mic works as well as your typical mobile phone mic.

Interesting idea mate!
Are they better or worse than OnePlus buds 3?
Is moondrop space travel better?
These or jbl’s wave beam 2?
These earbuds are really comfortable. I previously bought JBL Tune Beams and they would not stay in my ears.
Yeah they fit both myself and my GF really well.
Small drivers... you know, 9 out of 10 team managers prefer them 😅
Hi the only thing I can't work out is how to use the Bluetooth volume.
Up/Down either on your device on using the "buttons" on the earbuds, maybe you need to map them in the Sony app?
is it louder and more bassy than wfc500? some ppl said bass and volume of 510 is less than 500..is that so?
I don't have the 500's to compare sorry mate.

No mic or call answering?
Apologies I forgot to show this in the video but the mic is clear an works well for answering calls, as you would expect from Sony.
Sony should adopt dolby Atmos and head tracking
I don't think thats particularly useful for listening to stereo music or podcasts though mate... watching movies maybe.

Yes mate totally with you!
