One awesome thing that I don’t see talked about often is the Rental Car coverage. Simply by using your Bilt card to purchase a rental car, you automatically get 50,000$ worth of PRIMARY insurance coverage vs. the secondary coverage from most other cards.
How often do you rent cars? And would you always purchase insurance for your car rental?
@@LK_EBMyou should always purchase insurance for your car rental. You have NO IDEA what will happen.
Primary coverage is sweet
Yes the rental coverage is amazing, especially as it's primary on a no fee card. Honestly I think it gets lost in all the other benefits this card is loaded with. But thank you for bringing it up!
He remembered his rent was due
I love this card. I spent 80,000 BILT points on 2 round trip BUSINESS CLASS tickets from Houston to Paris. Since I’m platinum with Bilt the 80k turned into 200,000 flying blue miles. It was 100k each RT
that is MONSTER! Holy crap, congrats on the redemption as well as bonus!! Also enjoy Paris! We're actually headed there this summer for the Olympics
In interview with Lani, executive at Bilt said no sign up bonus not now not ever
: (
Seems like a free version of the chase sapphire preferred as far as multipliers and transfer partners goes but with rent as a category and bonus on rent day making it a stronger stand-alone card in my opinion.
That's a great way to think about it, the only bummer is no sign up bonus :(
I got the 5x bonus. Joined the card last week :)
Thanks for sharing this!
I just got it! The niche spending category I needed a card on was non-Amex, foreign DINING especially when I travel.
I also prepaid my non-Amex bills + restocked on food from non-Amex Asian grocery stores during the 5x promotion after your card gets delivered
Great video 👍
Got the 5x offer applied April 1st was great for me to have the offer and then work on sign up bonus on another card I got
I love this video! This is absolutely the best detailed explanation for this card I have ever seen. I will be getting this card as soon as I can.
I was approved for the Bilt card on 2/6 of this year and got the 5X for 5 days on 2/10. It’s definitely a must have if you pay rent.
Can you make a video about transferring points from one airline to another, like you mentioned transferring British Avios to Qatar airways? In still not sure how that works.
yup I have a deep dive video on how to redeem Bilt points for max value that might be helpful!
I got the 5X bonus, also there is another hidden bonus when I signed, if u linked the transfer partners when u first opened the card, for each linked account you will get 100 points.
Me too
I got the 100 points for a limited # (5?) linked accounts
I got the 5x for 5 days I applied 1 March this year. There were issues with shipping though so they reset the timeframe which was awesome!
Just be aware that BILT's travel classification is very limited.
Please excuse my ignorance, what does ‘travel classification’ mean?
@@kimgrodwhats eligible to be considered travel
@@kimgrod transit like buses or trains does not give extra points
@@boy_named_niel
I don't fly but may take a train or bus once in a while so that is good to know. Don't really get all the hype with this card.
Does this one and the original work outside of the usa? I might be moving in the near future and not sure whether to keep this card
Still waiting for mortage…
I got the BILT Mastercard in March. I did received the 5x points offer.
Thank you for this content as always! What are the requirements for this card? Should I be a US resident getting paid in my Bilt account? Watching you from South America
Yes unfortunately it's not available outside the United States
I love this card, I got the 5x for the first week of purchases. And even though its not in my opinion and every day use card. Its def dope for the first of the month which almost is like 12 days of a bonus offer. But they did have a survey a couple months ago to see about adding more benefits to the card and the one that won was adding an additional category for groceries for either (5x or 3x) can’t remember but if they do that its def going to be a go to card.
congrats!! I wish I got the 5x, would have been so useful
I got the 5x bonus and applied in March
Hey John, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made.
I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
Hey John. Is it possible to open "personal cards" using business EIN? My biggest category for business is groceries, but only personal cards are better suited.
I have this card currently and I did get the 5X for 5 days offer
I would like you to make a video for best credit card for somebody who is a non traveler
And is not interested in traveling
Hi, so 2022 I open a Discover student credit card and I have never used it before, due to inactively that card was close. What should I do? Not to say I am going to a nursing school this year, which mean I need to get a student loan. Now I am so worry if I will be able to get a student loan with the credit score of 659. Not say this was my first and only credit card. Please help me. I do not know what to do? Should I get a new credit with Discover?
Bilt was my third card and I got the 5X bonus
It's quite a bit misleading to say this is a good card if you "like to eat food". If you aren't someone who travels, and can't transfer the points out to partners, getting 3x on restaurants really isn't that special. There are other NAF cards that do better.
The Savor One would be a better card for those who don't travel much and don't pay rent or pay rent through a means not supported by Bilt.
This man John needs to get some Keeps hair products asap
man the 5x bonus is insane, why didnt i get one when i signed up i would have paid my taxes with that :'[
Same, I got NADA when I signed up
Is having Bilt report your rent payment an automatic feature or is that something you have to turn on?
Both
yup just have to go in and enable it
I don't have rent, but for now it offers a crap ton of value.
On the 1st of the month, I pretty much will do any car rental bookings (for the included Primary coverage), any cruise bookings, and of course get that sweet juicy 6X on food. For the other 29-30 days I just use Amex Gold.
But I also really like the transfer partners that Bilt has.
I just got approved for the Discover It card and I am aware that it doesn’t apply a hard pull on my credit score so I’m just wondering if there’s a one done from this card? Appreciate your content and keep up the good work!
yes there will be a hard pull if you apply for this card, totally worth it though!
I don’t have the card but I was thinking about getting it until i read some read bad reviews about how once you set it up to pay rent then you cant ever cancel it. Is this true?
And how BILT messes up on paying the rent & will charge you rent twice. Rent checks not on time etc… is this true?
You need to take those reviews with a grain of salt. I’ve had the card for two years and never had a problem using it and paying rent. With rent checks not showing up time, once you dig deeper into the complaint, you’ll find out that person tried requesting a check 3-5 days before rent is due which isn’t enough time. I send out my check on the 15th and it always is received before the 1st. Also, you can’t cancel a (rent) payment once you confirm. It’s literally like making a transaction on your credit card, you can’t cancel it real time but why would you need to cancel it? Unless you’re referring to auto draft which you can definitely cancel as long as you do so before the draft date. Most of the negative reviews is user error that people are to embarrassed to admit to so they blame BILT for their mistakes.
@@tatianabritton6258 thank you!
Can you use the account number and routing to pay mortgage?
unfortunately no
Does your mortgage count as rent??
I received the 5 points for 5 days promo 👋🏼
love it!
Would this be a good starter credit card?
i also got the 5X for 5 days
Never talked about Alaska airlines or hilton joining. What's up with that
Hilton I would avoid transferring to, but yes that's a miss on me on the Alaska partners. Noted for future videos!
Imagine if they let you pay your mortgage with this card and earn points.
Not once have you ever mentioned the fraud charges
Hey John, if my landlord only receives my rent by Zelle how would the Bilt card come into play?
Unless your landlord is willing to accept paper checks or ACH payment, this card won’t work for you (with the intention of paying rent). Zelle doesn’t accept credit cards and BILT can’t link with Zelle like that.
@@tatianabritton6258u got any advice on what to do after highschool??
sadly it won't work with Zelle :(
I am in the same situation. Landlord takes Zelle so this card would not work for me.
i got the 5x 5 day offer
*Accidentally rips real money*
When are they adding mortgages?
I got the card anyway … HOPING mortgages are added soon
as someone with 3, you'll be the first to hear from me when it happens!
Bilt and American Airlines aren’t going to be partners after June :(
Any word on mortgage?
still waiting out on it!
What if … I live in the USA & decide to rent for 2-3 months in Europe … will BILT pay my overseas rent?
my hunch is likely no : (
This might as well be a fully paid/endorsed advertisement. This card is NOT for everyone. Some unique points earnings potential over the competition, for sure. But it still boils down to being a pretty basic travel card with few extra benefits. Simply put, points cards are for people who travel and know how/have time to work the system. Cashback cards are for people who want to keep it simple and earn a few extra bucks on stuff they were going to buy anyway. This card does not break that mold.
And i wouldnt even compare it to cards with an AF. If you do the math, the lack of sign up bonus is a way bigger deal than you might think. John knows this. But he's already raking in his affliliate link cash 😂
As someone who pays rent through Zelle this card would be fairly useless to me. I will stick with using my Savor One, Blue Cash Everyday, Blue Cash Preferred, Discover It, and WF Active Cash.
I would be better off adding the Citi Custom Cash, US Bank Cash+ or Chase Freedom Flex to my lineup. Even the US Bank Altitude Go or Wells Fargo Autograph might be better options for someone who doesn't travel much.
Stop saying there is no annual fee there is if you are forced to use a product 4 times a month it's a fee to get value.
That’s no fee, though. If you made $0 in transactions you pay $0. If you spend $10 on your card you pay $10. That’s no fee!
Yeah, splitting hairs. Technically, no annual fee. Need to swipe/use 5x/month if you want to ‘get’ your points.
Interesting that he left that detail out. Obviously a way to get people to use the card on other purchases besides rent since people might be tempted to get this card only for the rent benefit which they surely arent making much if any money off of. Doesnt sound like a huge deal to me, but definitely should be mentioned in a video like this for full transparency.
@@Faroesx ? if you spend 10 dollars and dont pay back theres a fee. and yes there a fee you can't even get teh rent perk unless you used 4 spends... So yes there a fee if you want to use it for the reason people use it for
@@antman674 No its not but its a big detail especially on the rent side. So in order to get the rent paid... you have to use it 4 times which is a fee for the perc
I love my BILT Mastercard.
How many times are you going to talk about the same card? Are you running out of content?
😂
You don’t have to watch the BILT vids. Just sayin’
I bet you're over the 5/24. 😂
did you runout of crap to watch? you have a choice but still click the video… he makes money for bad comments and when someone clicks the video but you? lol
I mean, there’s only so many credit cards in the market. All credit card UA-camrs talking about the same cards lol. At least he’s talking about one of the best no annual fee credit card with premium benefits
Sponsored?
nope just a fan
Hey John, you gotta switch things up. You're just recycling content over and over again and I can already tell this isnt going to bring anythjng new to the table just from reading the title and seeing the thumbnail.
If you are paying rent you need this credit card
Not if they don't support the means of payment your landlord accepts.
Bilt pays your landlord by check or ACH. If your landlord only accepts checks, Bilt works as well.
I don’t rent. Video skipped
