For a beginner do you recommend going with the 8 or the 7.6? I’m a ocean lifeguard been surfing the last two years with a 9 foot rescue board have used a couple of 8 foot boards just want something that moves a bit easier.
Bigger the better! My 8ft feels smaller the way it moves. It’s super light and tough. I love it, but you can’t go wrong with the 7’6” either. I jumped down from a 9’ to a 7’6” back in the day. I had no problems. Hopefully this helps! Thanks for watching. Yewwwww! 🙌🏼😎🙌🏼
Yeap! Channel Islands shape with Torq technology. It’s really strong and super lightweight. Mine is 8ft and I can duckdive if I’m in the right spot. It’s based off of the Channel Islands Water Hog model. Great board.
Hi great review , I’m thinking of getting this board 8ft, do you think it would suit a beginner ? I’m currently on a 8ft circle 1 epoxy lam softboard and have a 7’6” MF Beastie epoxy lam softboard , looking at adding a hard board to my quiver for those smaller cleaner days … would you recommend this 😃🏄♂️🌊 thanks Phill 🤙yeeeww
This is a good board to transition from a softy. I did. Never regretted it either. This board does everything, 1-2 slop to overhead! It does it all! YEWWWWW! Thanks for watching! Check out some of my other videos. I'm always rocking this board.
@@phillpate8735 Yewwwww! Thanks for watching! 🙌🏼😎🙌🏼 Not at all and I rock the 8ft 😂 You’d think you wouldn’t be able to duck dive an 8ft. It’s super light. Love this board. I wish I had 5 of them.
Hello again Really appreciate the feedback on this board just so you know Im in the uk so price in ££ sterling Can I ask your advice, I’ve got the opportunity to purchase 2 of these boards 2nd hand , one in red at £250 and the other in white at £150 Viewing both next week .. The one in red apparently in VGC no dings or Dents etc The one in white in VGC no dings or dents , but apparently has a pressure dent on the top , which makes me think why, ? as I believe epoxy boards are robust and I can’t imagine how it gets pressure dents unlike PU boards I’m a beginner surfer with not a whole lot of knowledge I know pressure marks shouldn’t be a concern on the top deck as long as the bottom of the boards are ok. Can I ask your thought on this ? I can afford either board , but if the pressure dent isn’t a concern I’m thinking go for the cheaper white board at £150 possibly discounts to £125 or go for the other red board at £250 (as long as it’s in VG Condition as said 🤷🏻♂️) Seeing as this would be my first hard board transitioning from a MF beastie 8ft epoxy lam soft top Any thought or advice would be greatly appreciated in choosing my first epoxy hard board Thanks again man Yeeuuwww 🤙🤙😃
@@phillpate8735 The white one seems fine, and yes that’s normal wear and tear even with the heavy duty construction. 🚧 If the white one is that bad looking go with the red. Do you have Instagram? Send me the photos. I’ll be able to get a better look and decide. Here’s my account! @sshouser31 🙌🏼😎🙌🏼
Hi there! I m considering this board to purchase. The spot i mostly surf is full of longboarders. I wanted something a bit easier to transport. Do you think i can stand in a lineup with longboarders and have a chance to catch some waves? 😂 Thank you
@@catchinfernalcircle You’ll be good. Just go with the 8ft like I did! And when the conditions get big, those longboarders will leave and you’ll still be good! 🙌🏼😎🙌🏼 I’ve been surfing this board for 8 months now. I use it in almost any condition.
Perfect timing for this review, I was just watching your latest videos and was thinking how fun that board looks 🤙🏽
Totally! Thing is a blade! 🔪
Look like a cool board. I will check them out.

Looks great, what size was the board you were riding?
Went with the 8ft!
Looking to pick one of those up. So how does it work. Did Channel Islands give torq the template or something?
