I love these “Bowen Yang plays a disgruntled minor character from a major film” sketches. He’s one of the best newer cast members.
Or "major world event", as the iceberg The Titanic crashed into was real. But they did have movies about that, with 1997's Titanic as the most popular.

I loved the, "In sorry boys, I tried." I absolutely adore Bowen.
It feels like the writers might finally be understanding Bowen's voice. Or if he wrote this, then they're finally letting him use it. This was right out of the park.

He wrote this. He writes most of the sketches he’s in. He was on the writing staff on SNL for a few years before becoming part of the cast-and he is still on the writing team

Their symbol is the * with letters in it at the end of the credits in movies.
It’s basically a union for film and theatre people and they were supposed to be on strike but a deal was settled so he’s still here. I figure he still wanted word to get out about working conditions.

P.S. I love that they can both make commentary on the gay experience, like being forcefully outed & the consequences of that, while also making fun of how people like Elon Musk built their names off the backs of other people's hard work & ingenuity, yet take all the credit and most of the reward.

Actually, he's in quite a few sketches considering how many cast members they have.. He is one of my favorites in the current lineup. He's very versatile!

Ok I don’t usually like characters on weekend update but this guy’s got me in stitches. He’s still relatively new but he has found his voice and he can hold his own playing against seasoned cast members. Good for him!

Oompa Loompa’s have always terrified me but I love Bowen Yang so much I had to click on this anyway.

@@tdyblgm24 He probably has more range than we see here... SNL like to type cast people. For a while, we'd only see Ego in Angry/Crazy Black Woman roles, but now that she's included in other types of roles, you see she has range.
why does everyone keep saying the kids in the Wonka factory died? none of them died, they were all just horrifically disfigured

Okay but they were in situations where one drowned in a chocolate river only to be pumped up a small pipe and sent to a room where they will be made into chocolate bars, one chewed gum that filled their entire body with blueberry juice to the point of explosion, one was sent down a garbage chute into the factory's incinerator, and one's particles were torn about and rearranged into a television set and then stretched about in a taffy puller.
I thought Wwacf was a horror film as a kid. Not sure why ppl think it's a kids movie.

My friends and I LOVED this part, as a transgender person with a gay friend, we LOVE Bowen Yang! The Iceberg was also another "Greatest Hits" as well, thank you for being accepting, inclusive and downright hilarious and still bringing us the news (Probably the best news we watch all day!) We LIVE for SNL 😃🤩
EDIT: I was outed on social media by a fellow LGBTQ+ support group member, and my gay friend was outed by his sister at a Christmas party, so we can totally relate to this skit.

Hadn’t watched SNL in a long time and just came across Bowen Yang… man, he’s very good! His acting, voice dynamics, and enunciation is like an A-List voice-over actor.

This was HILARIOUS! I love that Bowen Yang utilizes his platform to mock the tyranny of oppressive cultural norms with such acerbic wit. This was no exception. I just wish he could have gotten in a reference to Kellogg's and John Deere current strikes
before he was cut off. And it would have been a perfect setup to throw a little shade at Amazon.
