Our family love every video that you post. We pray for you every day and night. Thank you for always being yourselves and letting God be first in your lives.
Why do people put "thumbs down" on these videos. I recently started watching and i am super impressed with how you stay positive and love all the time. I have had many, many surgeries and won't bore you with that, but when you are dealing with chronic illness, it so important to be positive and send out those loving vibes. Love Ollie and hope only the best for you guys! ♡♡
love you Peter Mary & Ollie love to see you home I am off to hospital soon but love to listen to inspirational vlogs and music to help everyday life A Big Thank You x from Australia
Thank you for making this video. it was amazing. My day was a little tough today, but this video made me laugh and smile for 30, so it made me day better. :)
Peter & Mary .... I hope you both can feel how inspiring your vlogs are. I began watching you guys a while ago... I've never known anyone with CF and i thought i would just watch one video -but the love you both share and choice you both make to put God first and choose joy inspires me. I've learned more about CF along the way. You both are pretty special ...thank you for sharing the good & bad days of your journey and letting us be a small part along the way...!!! 💗(evie in orlando fl)
My son had Crohn’s and he’s in college, new place , new doctors. He is in Nashville and we are in Maryland. So he is also having some challenges. Love you guys:)
You can buy lemon juice and lime juice in a plastic bottle by the fruit juices- it’s not quite as good as the fr she juice but is easily accessible in your fridge. Love your vlogs!
I learned first hand the lesson of "you'll survive if you don't get an A." I wasn't quite as sick now as I was then, but my first semester in college I'm almost positive I got the lowest grade in the history of Centre College on my Econ midterm. I quickly learned I shouldn't have ever varied from my dream path, so I switched right back to an English major. Pointless anecdote, I guess, other than to say you're so right saying you learn to accept your best, no matter what it is, even if you were previously an all-A student.
I went back for my Bachelor's degree and graduated back in 2006. I'm so glad they had internet classes and it helped me a lot since the college was a couple hours or more away. 😀
I really wish you two would come up with a recipe book on the random dinners you guys make. I love them but i never remember what goes with what. Dinner on a budget :) food for thought
😘 Thanks for summarizing the challenges of college. My daughter needed to hear it. She has multiple food allergies. A grain of wheat can make her sick, so she needs an allergy free kitchen and utensils as well. Plus, she has inherited a genetic chemical imbalance causing anxiety. We'll find a way!
If it helps, most colleges have online classes for many classes for each degree program. Of course not all colleges have all programs 100% online, but many of the basic english, math, etc classes can be done online. It just depends on what school it is and what degree program she is in. It's a nice alternative to physically going on campus. My son began his college on campus, but his last two years he was able to finish at home online because his health issues kicked in and he just could not get through the regular college day. This doesn't account for all the socializing that most kids want to partake in, in college, this is just for the focus of getting a degree. Sadly when health problems are involved, there is so much compromise that has to happen. As a mom I know how hard it is to watch your kid have to go through these experiences differently than others. Best wishes to you both.
I have add-in ideas for your salsa: Cilantro, garlic, a squeeze or two of lime juice, salt, and pepper. That should simmer down the tomato taste, and make it more like a salsa. I love your live shows (even when I miss them) and your food trials! Happy eating!
Hi Mary! YOU probably won't see this but I have some stupid questions. #1 why didn't you get a G tube or a GJ tube? #2 what did you go to collage for? #3 can you show us your updated health/ house tour? #4 can you please explain what all of your medications do to your body and educate me on c.f. updated? Thanks for your time! Have a good day!
Hey Peter, if the pain persists, I would recommend seeing a Physio. I have had similar pain and it maybe sensitisation of the medial nerve, you'll sometimes feel the pain up the neck or even right down the arm.
Will Peter's speaking engagement in Chicago be open to the public? A meet up in Chicago would be great! Maybe at Ghirardelli's?? Cheering on from Chicago!!
I’m having a horrible asthma flare up this week. The worse one I’ve ever had to the point of having to go to the ER. I was so panicked & scared but the whole time I was there, I couldn’t stop thinking about you guys and your story. How you have to deal with similar symptoms everyday and dealing with being in and out of the hospital more than anyone would like to be. But you still find joy and happiness in every day. You guys have been a blessing to my life & I keep y’all in my prayers everyday! ❤️
I’m glad you professors were understanding. My brother had 5 classes and when he had emergency Gall Bladder removal only 1 would allow him to have a little extra time for end of the year assignment. She said to bad I am failing you. He only needs that 1 class to get his AA.
In UK, 5 to 10/11 yrs is primary school age. 11 to 16 yrs is secondary or high school. At 16 to 10 yrs, kids go to Sixth Form or college type of activities and then, at 18, they go into university or tertiary education. Peter's should sounds similar to my injury. I have bursitis and rotator cuff damage. I'm having a steroid injection into it in a couple of weeks. Mary, you are an inspiration and I love your outlook on life. You're both amazing! Lots of love from Yorkshire, UK.
Lovely to watch while up coughing (my area had a wildfire and I had a bad reaction from which I’m still recovering) I’m going overseas for school and I’ve been a bit worried about handling my anxiety and my illness cause it causes fatigue
Leah Sauter Hi, may I ask what country you're going to study in? I have anxiety and fatigue too so am trying to plan how I'll manage if/when I'm ready and I want to try to do a semester abroad. One thing's for sure, pacing oneself is important! Getting permission to leave to find an empty room to take little rest breaks whenever you need I've found helpful for energy and social/emotional fatigue. Also sometimes it means picking which social stuff to say yes or no to to get balance but also self care time. And utilise what student supports are available. Best of luck!
There’s me who couldn’t go to college due to not having the medical team I have now, not being physically stable, and not having the cognition to do read, write, and learn in general. I feel left out of the college experience as all of my high school class are seniors this year, but I know God has a plan for me.
Chronically Cassidy College is not the be all and end all. There is more than 1 way to live life. I had to drop out and my health has got a lot worse now but living a non standard life has taught me a lot of things I'd not have had the opportunity to learn otherwise and I feel more fulfilled than many healthy people my age. Good luck 😃
I am watching after the event, but it sounds like it could be frozen shoulder (not sure if it's called the same over there) the treatment in the UK is usually cortisone injection to reduce inflammation. Also, over here, primary school is age 4-11 and secondary school is age 11-16. My eldest (I have 3 children) is turning 16 this week and is starting college next week!! My middle is 9 and youngest is 19 months (not that it's very interesting lol)
I love just eating jalapeños whole by themselves and I didn’t think about it but tomato and jalapeños sound so good together! I think I’d eat it without chips and with chips. I personally would have to add a bunch of melted gooey cheese to eat it with chips though
I so wish this video had been made when I was in college. It took me so long to learn that because I had so much going on in my life with my health my best was sometimes lower grades than my best was before I got sick.
I was sleeping during the live☹ Peter, it sounds like you have an impingement of a nerve or something. You can take a rolled up hand towel, lay it on the floor, then lay on top of it, around mid back. Slowly slide down the floor, an inch at a time, resting on the towel for about 30 seconds at a time. Do this until you get the towel to the base of your head. If the impingement is in or near your spine or ribs, this will help until you can get into the chiropractor. Exhaustion and sleeping in an odd position can cause this. You may be able to shrug off the pain on camera, but your wife knows you best😉. Heat and ice help also. (I have Ehlers-danlos so I know things😁)
Sounds like tendonitis, don't immobilize it or you could make it worse, like frozen shoulder. Ice you may find wont help, but if you can get a sports therapy cream of some kind, that will help. Also, taking an anti-inflammatory of some kind, but it will take time.
Hey hey guys :) Peters shoulder might be a frozen shoulder. If it is then a good stretch is to walk your fingers up a wall until your arm is high above your head. Good luck guys! I was in New Hampshire and Maine for the last 5 days and it is gorgeous! Thought of you while I was there :)
Ahhh Peter is like a little Lad he keeps asking Mary to share her college stories and probably is in too much pain to share or thats his tactic hahaha!! Sharing is Caring ;) hehehe!!
Do you get the Edinburgh Military tattoo broadcast to you in the US? We saw it on the BBC this evening and it always reminds me of you two, Peter and Mary, as it happens every year during August xxxxxxxx
Hey Mary and Peter My name is Andrew Leach and I am from Lexington Kentucky and I Just want to tell you both that I HAVE watched your videos and I HAVE been sooooo interested in your health Mary Bc I have a hole in my heart and I am on Oxygen 24/7 now and I have a feeding tube button too and I have been doing breathing treatments too like what you have doing too Mary. And so I guess I am trying to say is I DO feel your pain and I Know how it feels to have a Feeding tube like you do Mary. Anyway keep up and God bless you both.
Hello Carol V NO. The hole CAN NOT BE FIXED. Because the Doctors at Kentucky Clinic of Gil heart hospital TRIED to close off the hole But with some other health issues that I have they just left it alone and so I am fine with it and I am on Oxygen 24/7 and I am able to go out do stuff like normal person does and I DO have a job where I am a Bagger at Beaumont Center Kroger's in Lexington Kentucky and I sometimes like the job BUT I am MORE like when I get paid from working there for over 15 almost 16 years at Beaumont Center Kroger's in Lexington Kentucky? OK Carol V.
Fellow Kentuckian here (Ashland, and went to school in Danville), and I just want to say thank you for being open and sharing your story. Lifting you up in prayer.
I've been wondering if Peter will go for his doctorate? Mary, when you first went to college, do you wish you had experience with traditional school, over home schooling, like in high school for example, to help you adjust to college better? Sorry for the 20 questions, but Mary, do you still have your port? I thought it showed a little under tank tops and didnt see it here, just being nosey, sorry. Lol.
PT, Physical Terrorist advice, see an ortho as the end of your shoulder can have a curve at the end and bursitis is another factor. I ended up having bilateral shoulder surgery after injections and. PT didn’t work.
Frozen shoulder Peter. It's the bursar nerve it gets worse before it gets better . Often needs a cortisone injection. Hope it's not that but the fact you can raise it up but not out . Go to the doc Peter . Please .

It was fun seeing you both for a half hour today vs 15 mins or so! It's funny watching Peter reading the comments; I imagine you get so many!
Peter is a typical guy...hurt his shoulder but doesn’t complain and tries to ignore it. Lol! My husband does the same thing

I go back to classes on Wednesday. I start clinicals for my Medical Assistant program. I'm scared and excited at the same time.
Mary I want to personally thank you for the reminder to take my probiotic, I completely forgot it till you said digestion

Chop up a couple garlic cloves and chase it with water. Hard going down but it works. Cut back on the calcium.

Cheering on from Chicago!!
Sadly at 48 I’m still trying to find this life balance, and sleep always loses to UA-cam, haha!
Shannon Landis Lol UA-cam is so addicting! I can feel tired , and then I go on here and 30 mins later I'm awake, laughing at goofy videos!

Freeze your lime and/or lemon WHOLE. Then you can shred some of the fresh lemon or lime directly into your salsa or whatever dish you are making!
This works, I do this also, it also has health benefits as well!
Add corn and coriander to your salsa. We have it all the time so yum
Peter, try Tiger Balm, that stuff is great!

Missed it live but so now I have the pleasure for breakfast 😊 think Peter you maybe have what's called a mousearm from doing much computer stuff.
Moe’s is my favorite place to eat!!! I usually try to go once a week.
have you tried adding capers to your salsa mix. it adds a nice tang!
Mary what did you study in college? What were your majors? Peter did you lean on your shoulder while coloring outside?
Peter I love Sparkling flavored water too! My favorite flavor was Lacroix Passionfruit but I haven't seen it in awhile.
I am at work but will come back to watch later just wanted to say hii
Does your shoulder hurt when you lay down on your back?? Could be a rotator cuff injury.
Hey Guys, please pray for Christina Doherty. She’s in the OR right now trying to repair a serious cerebrospinal fluid link from her new shunt.
Penelope Polins née Meyer Will do! I also have a shunt but, Thank God, not had surgery for w5 years on it
Juliet Ireson I have a shunt as well
Best wishes! 💜

I love your laugh Mary
Peter i have a sore shoulder like you explained. i have had it for 6 years and went to physio therapy. she told me it's probably your rotator cuff.
What restaurants did you all used to eat at when you lived in Chicago? My parents loved eating at Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinders
5:37 Dr. Mary will see you now! Good work, Dr. Mary! :)< Let me know when you're accepting new patients, OK? :)

No worries, burps are totally acceptable in the Frey Zone!!
Just ordered a sweatshirt😀
I needed this
I love you all. Sister Mary you rock.
Hi guys. I miss you guys going live
Frozen shoulder Peter. It's the bursar nerve it gets worse before it gets better . Often needs a cortisone injection. Hope it's not that but the fact you can raise it up but not out . Go to the doc Peter . Please .
Also Physical Therapy is an option and really helps!
Why do I not get notifications when there’s a livestream?
Is this live now? Our Grandaughter has CF.
No it is not
Missy Fish thank you
Did you use cilantro?
Feel better soon Peter cariad xxxxxx
Did you match your shirts on purpose? :)
My Mom's best friend who was like my aunt, had a son with cf many years ago and passed away at the age of 12. Before he died, he donated his body to science for a time to have cf meds and I often wonder, in watching you, Mary how much he would be like you if he had lived. Sorry to be gloomy, I just admire you and Peter. I'm bed bound for health reasons and I hate it. How do you deal with having to be home and often in bed?
Jalapeño! 🤣 Everyone in Texas pronounces this one correctly because it is a major food group here. I remember as a kid not pronouncing Jimenez. Not Jim, (a man’s name), but Him, like sing a hymn (accent on the 2nd syllable). 🤦♀️Oh vey! 🤣🤣🤣
It's called primary in Ireland then secondary then college is called third level.
Mary what's your degree in??? Does anybody know?
ice that rotator cuff and get looked at for in a few days, in mean time no heavy lifting as you show it is from lifting or pulling hard or awkwardly
Please consider using plates and utensils that are not disposable, we all have a responsibility when it comes to our planets state of health at the moment. Small changes are better than nothing.
Make lemonade with your lemons and limes
omg Triscuits are the one (well...besides Donuts) thing I miss the most about the USA. I'm from Europe and we don't get them here. They're THE BEST.
Primary school is elementary school, middle school is junior high, and high school.
Angela Guenther Where I’m from Primary School is k-3, Elementary is 4-6, junior high is 7-9 and highschool is 10-12.
I love my wife. She loves your Ollie boy.
Peter: I mean, it's kinda neutral/good.... LOL!!
You could have frozen shoulder stating
Where is Ollie boy
Sounds like it is Peter's rotator cuff that is bothering him.
Why were you homeschooled, Mary? (Just wondering)
Susan Darby oh yeah actually, probably
hey your a lovely couple
The pain might be your rotator cuff maybe ?
Hello from texas
Mary, were you homeschooled for health reasons ?
Au Teacher good question
Mary how are you feeling today? How are your lungs?
Hey Mary and peter I'm from Canada
Taylor Rzeznik so am I
It sounds like ya pulled a muscle!
I only buy lime and jalapeños when I know I am going to make salsa.
Does it count if you cover your burp in the burp count?
Sounds like you may have a trapped nerve, Peter.
its a trapped nerve xx
Have your Rotary cuff checked it sounds like that to me I had to have surgery on mine
Lying makes good seasoning lemon makes it last longer wear won’t age or get older
Susan Darby I ment lime.
