Not everyone looks good with East Asian makeup. Lip gradient isn't necessary and it doesn't suit everyone. I look better with lipsticks all over my lips not only at the center of my lips. But this video teaches us that everyone should do k pop idols makeup as if western makeup is the problem. No it's not.
yeah i've followed techniques for east asian makeup and have had to concede it just does not work on my western features. I think the glitter in the center does look nice but I think western faces need more 'shading' on their eyes overall too to help them pop, and the lip gradient really only works if you have full lips. if you have finer lips, you need it all over and to overline slightly to get a good look depending on what you're using.
My lips are small so the gradient lip thing doesn't work for me haha. Because there's no more space to blend it out 😂 so for me, it looks fine when I put it all over the lip.. but yes I'd figured for girls who have bigger lips that technique is useful ^^
I have relatively bigger lips but smaller than average in width and the main reason i like the gradient lip is because it prevents me from looking too severe. If I have completely glossy lips that just looks too overwhelming and distracting like I tried too hard, and if i have matte everywhere it makes me seem too serious and strict. Makeup doesn’t fit me bc I have lots of freckles. Everywhere… so I’ve never thought it looked anything but cakey and see-through and never took the time to improve
I grew up in a very strict/abusive home and so I never learned how to do makeup. As a 28 y/o woman the most makeup I've worn is eye liner and mascara, I couldn't do it. I'm only now starting to rethink makeup, and have been trying it, but I just didn't know how. This is so helpful because I was making all those mistakes.
I wouldn't say that everyone needs to follow this. Makeup is subjective and more than anything should fit the person's face shape. It takes more than just advice like this for an individual to understand how best to do makeup for them. The art of learning how to do your own makeup is the art of understanding your own features, your own beauty and what would enhance that. Where I would place my blush would be different to someone with a different facial structure to me. How I would do my eyeshadow would be different to how my best friend would because she has monolids whilst I don't. You have to learn how to follow the shape of your eye. The shape of your cheekbones. The shape of your nose and lips. Makeup is individual. Some techniques which look nice on certain face shapes, and just as importantly, certain skintones, may not look nice on others. So when asked why your makeup doesn't look as good as it does on someone else, rather than copying how others do it exactly, use that information and adapt it to fit yourself. And if something looks wrong, if something seems off. Its okay. Just try again. Makeup, just like any other form of art, is a learning process.

I honestly look good with the Korean lip thingy but everyone's face shape isn't the same so some might not look good with it when others do plus there are different types of makeup styles
I've tried gradient lips and I'll never go back to it again. It only looks good on east asians with full lips.
That unleasia glitter is so pretty buy omg it's so uncomfortable to wear. I don't know if it's the size of the glitters or the sticky base but it is super itchy😢
What if people want the glitter to be all around?
Welp I think u missed one very important point...NOT EVERYONE IS KOREAN 💀
what does that have to do with anything ..? and it isn’t korean makeup, it’s douyin, which is a chinese makeup style.
So true. And only highlight your aegyosal from the inner corner to the middle
Kinda gives yeji cat eyes vibe
I do the lipstick that way now and i swear it looks good on me even as south asian.
I'm western but can do East Asian make up because I have very oft features. It works different for everyone ig
Put lipstick in the middle? Girl some of us barely even have lips 😂
