You can’t write what happens in tonight’s video🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
It is sole destroying when this happen right at the end.
@@9720millerI was fitted mate as I really needed to get it in
Brilliant finish, put a big smile on my face, these things happen. Great video.
I didn’t have a smile that’s for sure 🤣🤣….
Glad you enjoyed it Keith 👍🏼👍🏼
It never rains but pours 😂😂😂 At least you and Dave saw the funny side to it and ended up laughing after the initial stress period 😂😂😂 Nice one Mark, it did make me laugh. Hopefully the next one will be sound 😂👍🙏
If I hadn’t laughed I would have cried 🤣🤣….. really needed to get it fitted that day aswell🤦🏻♂️
I have had a picture from Dave with the replacement in 1 piece 😉
Thanks for that, Mark: some days the rain just comes down brown! One tiny silver lining: at least the defect was nice and easy to spot before you'd got it fitted this time!
And it’s the same bloody house aswell🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Evening Mark, you're not having much luck in that house! Hopefully 3rd time lucky with the unit top. If it helps, i always keep a cutting of 15mm with a conex elbow on pointing down into a bucket when opening rad valves up. Keep up the good work 👍
Yep I just thought this was going to drop out… but it didn’t 🤣🤣
a paired down parsnip works wonders as a tank bung, dosent snap as much a a carrot would but that will do in a pinch as well
😮😮🤣🤣
Used your code yesterday and got myself the slr1450 and the neck torch. Also won a beanie torch on the draw as well. Looking forward to giving them a go
Nice one mate 👌🏼👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Good little tip with those tank connectors, put your bung in a latex glove. The bung does the heavy lifting and the glove seals the rest. Never had an issue with doing that! Try it next time, saves draining down
Great tip that 👍🏼👍🏼… will try it
Did that yesterday with a dog poo bag worked a treat
the same happened to me i ordered a ceramic sink of the net and when it arrived it was in jigsaw mode, i asked you last time about the black gunge in the pipes and how to clean it up you was lucky when you opened the vave that there was no expensive carpet there. great vids look forwad to every one
Jigsaw mode 🤣🤣🤣
Oh dear. No amount of CT1 would fix that! What you said about your merchants is very true. As a DIYer, I have always found them to be very helpful.
Well….. we may find out😉😉
I’ve got a replacement one coming so I am going to try the CT1 route just for a laugh
@@MJTiffPlumbing Nooooo!!!
Jet swets for those tank connectors. Great work as always!
Thanks mate
I've finished the weekend with the ARMD deal and a bunch of Uni Light gear 😅
And what great deals you have got mate 👌🏼👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Your heart sinks (no pun intended) when you see this on a job. I had a fan delivered last week. The glass front had a chip in the corner. However minor it is, breakages put you back.
I think some of this stuff is packed like it from the factory because i have had the package perfect, but the items inside in bits.
I see what you did there 🤣🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
I have one of those bathroom jobs at the moment. New floor and joist new walls and plaster . Relocate all pipes etc . The joys
I feel your pain mate…… soon be Christmas 🙏🏼
That's why I like buying from the merchants instead of the internet. Dave will sort it 👍👍
Deffo Gary….. a good merchant is the way to go as we know 👍🏼👍🏼
Sorry Mark but I couldn't help laughing out loud when all that shitty water came spouting out of the rad pipes 😂
It was like….. jammed in or something then just let go🤣🤣
Mark that would seriously melt my brain if that happened to me,
Luckily Dave was there when it was opened
👍👍🤜
Yep… he is good as gold but I couldn’t belive this 🤦🏻♂️
You know on Friday evenings sometimes when you can't be bothered to walk back to the van so you just use white mastic on your end feed joint instead of solder and walk away yeah I've done it a couple of times we can all relate
Hi Mark, an enjoyable film there, but not the bit where the basin was broken, at least Dave was there to witness the damaged goods😮.
I’m sure it will be another nice job in the end, I bet the customer could not believe another damaged basin top?
I look forward to part two of this job, have a great week and as always take care, regards, Chris. 👍👍👍
Honest Chris…. I couldn’t believe it mate…. Really needed to get it in aswell
You can wrap a plastic bag around the bung then put it in the tank and that makes up the extra space that the water gets through
Oohhhh I will try that one next time mate 👍🏼👍🏼
🤦
You're getting good at this editing Mark. Leaving us on a cliffhanger. You'll be giving up the plumbing and moving to one of the soaps. Great vid as ever.
Ahahaha….. keeps you on your toes on a Sunday evening mate😉
A Brew , radio on site jobs a good one
👍🏼👍🏼👌🏼
I've got the regin bungs, same thing with those tank connectors it couldn't seal just wrap ptfe round you bung same amount as a rad tail about 3/4 down your bung where it pushes in and it will seal
Nice one mate, will try that👍🏼👍🏼
😂😂 As you say Mark, you couldn’t write it, I’m in the motor trade, we have the exact same issues lol
One of those weeks mate….. always at the busiest times aswell🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Hi Mark. Would have been a nice little job for you mate apart from work top wrong then the broken one. Feel for you mate. Hope you have a better week 👍
Thanks mate…. Hopefully a better week
Should have put a lever valve on the cold feed to heating last time you had it drained, just a thought 😉
I thought that’s as I filled it back up🤣🤦🏻♂️
Ideally an iso valve on the header tank outlet so no need to drain in the future 😉
FFS....Don't you just hate that! Despite the set back (Smashed basin) great vid. Don't know how you get our other trades to work with you in unison, I always struggle to get other trades to turn up when I want them. Nice job though Mark
It’s all about having a great team around you…. Always look after them😉👍🏼👍🏼
Ohh not good with the basin. Lets hoped 3rd times the charm. Cloakrooms looking good though. 👍
Thanks mate…… Dave sent me a picture of the new one… in one piece 😉
Sods Law, just when you think its going great, something comes along and bites you on the arse
Tell me about it mate
Well just great ..wait for the item most of the day .then it turns up broke ..afraid to say it happens a lot now .😯😯
Yep….. I was gutted as I really needed it going in aswell. 🤦🏻♂️
Ffs i feel your pain thank the heavens i dont fit bathrooms anymore
How 🩸🩸Y annoying that sink worktop being broken ! 😫
Just a little
Was it made out of that resin type material? We had one exactly the same. Cracked front to back.
Yep resin worktop buddy
Typical always something to go wrong i have also had issues with the bungs not seating properly so i use a round tapered bit of wood usually works
They can be a right pain mate…….
A little tip I saw from @irbheating with those tank flanges. If the rubber bungs dont work you can try putting some plumbers mate in a small plastic bag. It allows the plumbers mate to mold itself to the outlet when you push it into the hole.
Ohhh I like that…. Briggsy loves a little tip
Mad guess.🤪 @08:00 Is that rad a column and directionally, flow/return specific? @17:35. No. Phew! @22:00 Uh, oh! May have been the courier?
Not Dave. ('Ello Dave. You Dave? Oh, OK. Dave. You're my wife now! See: Papa Lazarou.)
Fastest thing on 2 wheels? A major online plumbing supplier's courier van, taking a corner. Beep, beep!
Hahahaha love this 🤣🤣🤣🤣
“Heeeeyyyyy Daaaaavvvveeeee”
Hi Mark, going forward if you have the issue with them tank connectors again and you know that you might have to drain the system again, then change the tank connector after the first drain down to save you a lot of hassle.Great video as always.
Or fit a lever valve😉
What would I do in that scenario?
Become an electrician. 😂
🤣🤣🤣…. Made me proper laugh that👌🏼
Get some dripstoppers drain down plugs, dont use anything else now. Also double as a butt plug if it takes your fancy😮
I know the ones you mean now 🤣🤣
Very nice video 👍👍👍👍
Thanks pal 👍🏼👍🏼
And its the still the wrong way round isn't it?
Nope… it was the right way this time 👍🏼👍🏼
Murphy’s law strikes again
Yep🤣
Murphy law mate
Yep 🤦🏻♂️
Why put the light switch on the outside? Put it in the room ffs.
Because the customer who is paying the bill wants it on the outside….. 👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbingWeird.
Quite common to have the light switch on the outside of cloakrooms.
@@mrgilly100Bathrooms yes. Cloakrooms no.
Seen it on loads of new builds.
Nightmare mate, you can bet your bottom dollar
When you want things to run smoothly, it will come and bite you bum😢😢.
Does make you wonder why someone would tape that up.🤔🙄🙄
Yep…. I even mentioned that aswell😮😮
🤘😎🤘
Evening mate
@@MJTiffPlumbing Evening Buddy 🤘😎🤘🫖☕️
More waffle than a Belgian patisserie.
But you just have to drop a DHC….. 🙌🏼🙌🏼
First
👍🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Just charge a penny for every time someone asks “ will it be finished in time for Christmas “
No need to work again you’d be a multi millionaire mate 😂
Hahaha brilliant
Get yourself some regin tank bungs there work with then tank connectors
I’ve got some regin ones…. These were them.
Maybe they have other styles aswell👍🏼👍🏼 will take a look
I use the drip stoppers bungs now, much better than the old rubber ones
I’ve heard they are good
What wall plugs do you use for towel rail? And have you went into a stud or not?
Fisher fixings on this mate
That tank need a clean
Yep
Thanks for the video. A lot of times when I watch these videos I smile and nod because I’ve been there too! I know what you’re talking about. I find it interesting to see the similarities and differences plumbing in the UK versus the US. I want to ask you because you’ve worked for yourself for a long time. Me being 6 months into working for myself and feeling a bit burned out- how often do you take time off? And how much time would you say you put in per week for non-billable work? I would guess I put in at least 8 hours per week of non-billable time. I’ve just taken my first 5-day stretch of time off in 6 months. When I was employed in a plumbing company I took at least 4 weeks per year off. This might be a good topic for a future video!
First off…. Thanks for the kind words. I would love to come to the US and do some plumbing to see that similarities etc..
As for time off…. You HAVE to give yourself time buddy, or you will burn out.
As for charging people…… ALWAYS…. 😉
Come to the US and do some Plumbing! Fly into Boston and I’ll pick you up- lots of good pubs in Boston too of course while you’re there!
Now that’s an offer buddy 😉👍🏼👍🏼
That house is cursed!
I’m thinking the exact same thing🤣
CT1 fixes all 😂
So they say😉😉
always something on bathrooms mate. Great video so far.
Thanks buddy
Should have put the switch inside the room, it’s only a toilet and a sink!
Why…… the customer wanted it outside😉
@@MJTiffPlumbing there was was a fairy called nuff… fairy nuff 😂
I’ve had two of these damaged over the past couple of years . The packaging on all of these is just terrible ! Just finished a cloakroom renovation myself , very enjoyable
toilet in the furniture, never see till now
What do you mean??
@@MJTiffPlumbing toilet pot in the wooden dressoir or how you call it
I'm doing major renovation ion on a house I've bought and everything i buy is damaged or wrong.
Windows, doors, bathroom units, tiles.
It's amazing how anybody gets anything done.
It's a minefield now
Crazy isn’t it mate
@@MJTiffPlumbing it's like they get it wrong on purpose, delivery companies break items on purpose, I'm sure.
I'm a landscaper, but now have respect for builders and plumber trades.
Those bathrooms are hard work, tricky and time consuming, i see why they cost so much
👍🏼👍🏼
I had one of these on a job, corner shower with the waste in the corner, went to fit it and I broke the waste corner off!! Ordered a new one and that turned up broken, they ordered another one and that broke!! Finally got a good one and fitted ok.
The following week went to the same customer to replace the immersion heater and split the tank!!!!!
Some jobs just go that way!
Keep up the good content and keep laughing at the bad days.
NO WAY 😮😮😮🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Wouldn't be easier, nicer, cleaner and quicker to lay down the floor tiles first and place everything on top rather than chop the tiles around the toilet and units? Just a thought
It would… I completely agree…. However it couldn’t be done in that order due to the customer wanting it done this way
Nice content bud, what is it with bathrooms etc? Never straight forward! I had three baths delivered on a job not so far back, each one damaged! I feel your pain Mark👍🏻🤬
I was proper gutted…. Needed it in that day really🤦🏻♂️
Just had a new boiler fitted on a job of mine, plumber said I've balanced the system, as one new radiator was fitted and a few removed, client rang complaining about a cold radiator, i went over balanced the radiators and instant result, always the odd dramas in the trade 😀 great video 📹 👍
Yep always good to balance rads out👍🏼👍🏼
We flooded a library when I was an apprentice not capping off trv's lol it does happen 😅
Always be safe
Mate I always wrap a tonne of ptfe around my bungs and it adapts to the size of the outlet when you push it in 👌
👍🏼👍🏼
Had a feeling that rad valve was going to piss out water - comedy moment 😂😂😂
It’s like it was stuck then just let go🤣🤦🏻♂️
I always keep a sacrificial towel handy for hanging rad water. Get then laid down ready.
Yep I seem to of misplaced my towel stock somewhere
Have a look at Nerad Jet Swet tools. Bungs the tanks easily. Great video.👍
I’ve got them in the bloody van aswell🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
You couldn't have it any easier🤔..straight flush walls..pipes in the right place...easy job.
Have you watched the video buddy 🤣🤦🏻♂️
Yes always remember Elf and safety Mr Tiff
🤣🤣👌🏼
Tip for tiff, i always put a bead of silicone around my bungs, lol.
Try it you never know it might work for you too on them dodgy tank fittings....
Good content mate, keep it coming.
Cheers Dave
Ohhh…. Could be worth a go😉
As you know saves on the drain downs and possible airlocks.
👍👍
We hate a bloody air lock
Nick never cleans up don’t think knows what a hoover is 🤣 leaves a right mess at my jobs every time I always have clean it up and tell him he’s lazy 🤣
Hahahaha….. I’ve never even seen a dustpan and brush in that van of his….
I had to use my new leaf blower😝
🤣🤣🤣🤣 is that the one you got for half price 🤣
😝😝😉
When you see Nick next ask him if he’s been having ago at any skateboarders lately 🤣
Get the regin tank bung kit mate that’ll never happen again then 👍🏻
These are the regin ones 😮
The regin ones I’ve got are a straight cone mate there not stepped like yours 👍🏻
Oh I will take a look 👍🏼👍🏼
