When I was younger we used to go to newquay in the summer time. We stayed at the beachcroft hotel,AND the Atlantic hotel .we had some amazing time's. IT would be GOOD to now if thay are still there .Take care and all the best.
Thanks for watching! The Beachcroft hotel closed some time ago by the looks of it. Part of the land became a supermarket, with some of the buildings being up for sale in 2021, as derelict buildings according to Google. Such a shame. The Atlantic Hotel is still open, and one that we’ll go and visit. I didn’t realise it was actually there! The location and hotel looks great on their website. Yes, it’s the sort of place where you can really relax and feel at home. The staff are so friendly as well. It may be 5-star, but you don’t get the stuffiness of like at some hotels. We love the Headland hotel. x
I have stayed at this hotel twice. The last time the hotel had been partly refurbished, but the indications were that 5his was going to be a fabulous place to stay when completed.
Thanks for commenting. When we were last there the main restaurant was closed for redevelopment (we seem to always go in January). The photos on their website do look as though the rooms have had a makeover since January 2023 when we filmed there. Love The Headland and we must book to stay again soon. Where else would you recommend trying?
We are thank you. The rooms are nice. I think I personally prefer the Fistral Beach views, as there is more to see, plus some incredible sunsets! I need to catch up with your videos, but today is for last minute editing, ready for publishing our weekly video tomorrow. We've stayed in other 5-star hotels in the UK, which are very different. I would say that it's more of a good 4-star. It certainly appeals to a certain market. Traditional old furniture etc. Across the other side of Fistral beach, The Fistral Beach Hotel is 4-star, but I could see them achieving a 5-star rating at some point. Nice and modern hotel.
I was thinking of going here with Caledonian travel coach holidays ain't sure whether hotel they use this and a few others hope ours are nice ain't booked it yet.
Newquay is in Cornwall (Newquay being a town and Cornwall is the county). According to Google, Yorkshire to Newquay is approx 378 miles, taking over 6 hours by road - worth it though! 👍 Yes Torquay is nice as well, we've got a couple of videos from Torquay on the channel.
It is probably different now that was awhile back.we have been back on several occasions and also to the cottages.I just hope it doesn’t become too upper class the only people can that can afford it 😊
Yes really! We record the videos when we first go into the rooms (before we make a mess). It was cold in the room when we first went in, as we hadn't pre-booked, it was a last minute room change. The heating soon made it toasty though. It was during a storm, with wind whistling through the windows that look out to sea. The tiles rattle in the wind, as they wrap around the outside of the bedroom effectively. It's a great room to stay in if you like to watch a storm along the coast!
