@@Mignunn That’s what i’m saying! The ZR1 is in no way comparable to an S3, it’s a track monster. For the S3 to even be this close is very impressive. Of course driver plays a huge part

I use to drive my C5R-427 at Road Atlanta and had an opportunity to drive at Atlanta Motor Speedway. That was a very different experience!
This is the only way I’d watch nascar. Bring back production cars on the oval.

the problem is cars no have such large gaps and top speeds, acc, weight and suspension that a gt350 would probably crush almost every car in its price range in a squirrelly circuit then get obliterated by a camero, low trim corvette, or even scatpack on the oval. A gt500 would also crush on the circuit but would never keep up with a high trim corvette on the on the oval. Gt350 is probably the best bang for your buck and the gt500 would really only do good at a drag strip. Im assuming the 1300hp gt500 isnt made for cornering and was only made to be faster than the dodge demon 170.

@@dustin6828 that's also the drivers not wanting to hit each other... they aren't race cars they are their daily drivers they pay insurance on. The Audi driver went crazy wide to avoid hitting a car worth 2-3 times more.
The Spectator drags at the Freedom Factory are just a test of who is willing to push harder and not crash. It has nothing to do with car performance... That's like saying the aerodynamic properties of the car matter in an 1/8 mile drag race.. it doesn't, you don't get fast enough in an average car to where drag coefficients matter.

I can say first hand, a tuned S3 is nothing to mess with. Mine did 11sec 1/4mi and 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. They can get faster but I daily drove it. Sold it for a 911 and a new SQ5. My SQ5 is now as fast as that S3. Way more power but it’s way heavier. That’s my daily. Porsche just for fun. Upgrade! 😂 I do miss that S3 sometimes though. My first fast and nice car.

As with any oval racing, the inside always gets you ahead unless you spin out. No audi is a straight line monster, alot of American cars like the vette are which is also why they produce more power out the factory

we bring a old AMC eagle to Ocala speedway for spectator races it's undefeated the past 7 years 4*4 station wagon with a 358 cid street legal it's beat Corvettes, mustangs,3 hell cat's and a trackhawk

I could be wrong but I believe the Audi is AWD so it grips up and goes but the car this made to be on a track is expected to quickly take over.

I watched only because I was hoping for, and expecting, a crash! It's always extremely gratifying, and oh so satisfying, when individuals crash their expensive cars because they've watched too many movies. 😁

I definitely wouldn’t call a S3 a family car. For 1, it is a performance car that is faster than 90% of cars on the road and there’s no way you’re getting a family in that thing comfortably. It’s tiny.

The Audi got him off the line with the AWD traction, but once the Corvette got up to speed so that the aero can do it's job so the BAS can put that power down to the rear wheels...yeah it was not going to be a fair fight
