Deeply sadden that we're not getting this in the US. For those of us that hate SUV's and love sports wagons and hot hatches, this would have been a nice option to have... but would have preferred it with the G70 3.3T engine setup.
For a car that sits around the 90k mark, over 7.5 seconds from 0-100km/h is just unacceptable. For god sake a heavier FG Falcon with a 2.0L EcoBoost had quicker acceleration times. Yet they were significantly cheaper. I believe it was a whole second quicker too at 6.7 seconds. Even a Kia Cerato GT 1.6L is still faster. Hyundai Santa Fe V6 is still within 0.4 of a second in the 0-100km/h sprint, yet it's a naturally aspirated engine.
@@ThomasFG I mean the g80 wagon. That would be sick. They really need to bring more models into Australia. Like we miss out on the Lexus es350 and the is500
I remember seeing a video comparing factory rated hp and real power at wheel on dyno, turns out a lot of US brands have even lower than 80% of claimed power at wheel while a few German ones (from Merc and BMW in particular) are around 100%. yes some of them put out even more at the wheel than factory claimed flywheel power. A German car claiming180 hp is typically about as powerful as a US one claiming 240hp
@@davidgriggs3967 no crap, i can read that this is a 4 cylinder base model. The 6 cylinder turbo will do 5 sec flat. Still doesn't explain their claim of 6.4. none of these 4 cylinder turbos used in Genesis or kia stinger models can achieve their 0 100 claim.
Actually don’t like the styling of this inside and out. Prefer the GV70 surprisingly. More than a second off it’s factory claim to 100 is a major disappointment. I’d ask for a refund.
A full second slower than the factory claim, and about a second slower than any competitor with similar stats, I think there’s something wrong with the test car
Great concept with a terrible engine. My mate with a Redline SS VF2 seen this and thought sweet when he steps out of the SS one day this could be a replacement with the TT V6 and then when it broke it came with no V6 TT option it was wiped..
Exciting stuff starts at 3:54
Any test of anything other than a SUV gets my vote.
Or another bloody dualcab ute

Needs the 3.3 twin turbo V6 in it
This should have got the 2.5lt from the GV70
Slumbering brake more like it. That is okay 0 to 100 for something like a medium sized SUV, but for something like this? Unacceptable.
I like this version of g70

It’s a luxury car…. Not a sports car…
@@Connor-lj5vd The FG is neither luxury nor sports. Even Lexus's rather old school approach naturally aspirated V6 in the GS & ES are still quicker.
@@ThomasFG Ngl. It’s pretty disappointing. But considering it’s only the g70. I’m sure they’ll bring the g80 to Australia some day
@@Connor-lj5vd The G80 already is in Australia 🙂
We don't get the G90 though

BMW 520i (184ps) does the same with similar weight. Something wrong with this engine

Your bmw engine must be way underrated. This is the performance id expect from a car with this power to weight ratio. Its too heavy and under powered
184ps in German car is equal to having 184ps at the wheels...
This car is a luxury cruiser, not a performance vehicle.
How does genesis get the claim of 6.4 seconds ?? No way with this power to weight ratio would it even get close to 7 seconds flat.
This is the base model not the v6 turbo.

Am I the only one who thinks this is not a good looking car. I mean its hardly a shooting brake, more like a hatchback.
It's got plenty of rear overhang. Don't think other wagons have much more, if any.
What a slow car what a waste of money and that's ridiculous ha
Its 2.0 what did you think , 7 sec is more than good for this heavyweight car.
