What an awesome performance. I always liked the theme from ALF and could not understand why the producers never released the theme as a single. Thanks for posted. Bravo
Every 80's show had a distinct theme song. I actually forgot how good the ALF theme was even though the show was not so popular. American TV at its finest. Never will be this creative again, or as happy go lucky. Very good job on the keyboard man.
I particularly enjoyed that you used the pitch wheel and played "incorrect keys" while repitched to provide nuance and character to an instrument that doesn't normally sound very realistic when played using keys. Awesome performance!
This is better than the original! I take my hat off to you and your talent. It is amazing and delightful to listen to. I hope you continue to produce more for the world to enjoy! Well done to you sir
Thanks for your nice comment. I guess it took about 2-3 weeks, on and off, to transcribe the original audio, create the MIDI file and record the video.
Welp, I've now watched a lounge act version of an 80's sitcom. COVID-19 has brought me to this. Excellent composition though. great playing. Much appreciated.
I revisit this video every time I revisit the original tune for Coliauta's hi hat work. What keeps me revisiting this video though is the extension of the form and the wonderful lead synth played here. The choice to play the head twice more than the original is tasteful as it's kept interesting by the delightful lead solo part (the synth guitar voice). The keyboard player delivers here and reminds me that ,while I enjoy the original for the Vinnie parts, the other instruments feature strongly in this theme
Your extended version of this theme really kicks ass! The added electric guitar really makes it sound like a show that could have gone on into the early '90s with added cast members!
I had the tapes of ALF and loved the intro music. I would rewind it just for that one minute. And one thing that got hacked into my mind was the slap bass in the background. And it's even in this rendition! Not sure about the muted guitar, but I love those little details that are like the fine spice in a soup.
Some say Alf Clausen hired Vinnie Colaiuta and Abe Laboriel at the drums and bass to play drums and bass in this track, but I've always thought it was only the good ol' DX7. Good job!
I personaly think that ALF theme, from Dany Elfman, was the most iconic and earworm tv show melodies, that can never get enough,i have it on CD,from 1998,since i worked in TV,and i had access to original stereo tapes,so i copy music, say, everyone say that can listen this evergreen tune 24/7,GREAT Jog Danny Elfman
Excellent !! wonderfull !!...brillante !! rutilante!! extraordinario!! maravilloso !! ........ es el mejor arreglo de todos los que he escuchado !!...grande ALF, siempre en el recuerdo..
MONSTER! Is the anthem of my days. but not the original song. your version! I am very glad of heart. I send you a hug from an Argentine in Madrid! @FranMazz at tw

Same😭 good times
This is my new party song! I ve alreDy listened to it lime 50 times in the past week

One of the most beautiful bass lines.
Some say it's Abraham Laboriel, some Leland Sklar, others seem correct with Neil Stubenhaus. It's definitely Vinnie Colaiuta on drums though.
I could listen to this 24/7 and never get tired
Same here! This was brilliant!
I drummed to it
OMG! How does this not have more views?! This is incredible!!
Ikr
I was thinking the same thing.
It's such a jazzy little tune. Bizarre for Alf, being what he was and all....yet....it fit in some way that defies explanation. I miss those times
amazing.... brings tears to the eyes.... the 80s were a much better place.
80er 👍🇨🇭
What an awesome performance. I always liked the theme from ALF and could not understand why the producers never released the theme as a single. Thanks for posted. Bravo
Still totally in love with this tune after all these years from my childhood... And this performance, oh god...
Every 80's show had a distinct theme song. I actually forgot how good the ALF theme was even though the show was not so popular. American TV at its finest. Never will be this creative again, or as happy go lucky. Very good job on the keyboard man.

Vinnie Colaiuta is one of the greatest and that high-hat stands out every time. The accuracy and crispness of the snare too.
Its the small differences that make this better than other versions. Relly well played.
NOSTALGIA
I used to watch ALF. It was a corny show but all in all it was fun show.
@@ericmadsen9655 REMEMBER THAT EPISODE OF THE COCKROACH , the best

Thank you so much for this. This somehow made me tear up. It's beautiful and it triggers warm memories.
