This is the unaltered original theme that was butchered and changed in syndication. When it first went into syndication I was like what the hell is this? Finally after all of these decades I've found the original version, thank you posting.
ALF is hands down my favorite TV show of all-time. Had a huge cult following. I'm still patiently awaiting the release of the motion picture adaptation, and hope they do ALF and the fans justice.
This version wasn't "unaired." It just wasn't used in every episode. (Sometimes they left out the part in which ALF attempts to take the pie from the refrigerator).
@@kadejito1 No, I think they used this in all the first and 2nd season episodes. The pie part was cut out on the DVD version. The ALF logo with the dots at the end of the first version was the unused one from the first 2 seasons. The rest of the theme and intro had all that stuff intact including the pie with Kate.

I think they just cut the pie segment from the DVD versions. The pie versions aired originally in a good number of episodes I have first run on vhs, so I believe the intro always had it. The DVD versions cut off the pie, except in the unedited Pilot which includes the ALF logo in a different font.
that was my Dad favorite show but when I found out my father was changing the channel on a saturday morning my dad founded on oddyssy channel i did not know what is that show
@@kadejito1 ALF would never be able to make a successful comeback alone. He tried in the 1996 movie and in the talk show which only lasted a few episodes. If they rebooted him, it would only last a season or 2 maximum. NBC wanted to but plans were stopped when they saw how bad Coach was handled when they filmed the pilot of that one. NBC said if Coach was a hit, ALF would for sure come back. NBC is bringing back Saved By The Bell and Punky Brewster yet as web series and Punky got 10 episodes for season 1. It doesn't look like it will last as long as the original with that episode count.
ALF said BE THERE, as in NBC's slogan from 1983-84 season, which was three years before ALF, Come Home to NBC and the current peacock all came on the air

in the syndicated version aired in the early 90's, an announcer said "ALF is an Alien Production", distributed by Warner Bros Television.

At 00:34 you can see at the left, that the kitchen ends and there are spotlights. Crazy that this ended up in the intro
ah, those were the times. Things werent as perfect as they are today, we were very stupid without the internet but it was great :-)

The "pie version" played during the holiday episodes of the first season, if Im not mistaken. After that it sorta just disappeared.

Plus the theme tune song itself was originally played in a higher key and slightly slower than the one heard in the U.S. Syndication reruns.

This version of opening was normally aired in 90s Japan without modification and I still remember it vividly.
Yes I just bought the Japanese version on DVD. I didn’t know it was different in The US??
