ALF is hands down my favorite TV show of all-time. Had a huge cult following. I'm still patiently awaiting the release of the motion picture adaptation, and hope they do ALF and the fans justice.

@@kadejito1 No, I think they used this in all the first and 2nd season episodes. The pie part was cut out on the DVD version. The ALF logo with the dots at the end of the first version was the unused one from the first 2 seasons. The rest of the theme and intro had all that stuff intact including the pie with Kate.
Damn! I KNEW I'd remembered the bit where Kate slaps ALF's hand, reaching for the pie!! MeTV's current (well, they dropped "ALF" as of the past few days), airing didn't include that bit; I thought I I'd imagined the whole thing! haha!

You even the theme song here is epic. I wish they could have a new tv show of alf, Like this time it could be on his home planet before everything happened and before he came to Earth. Just saying. It would be great to see where alf was born and raised at, for sure

@@kadejito1 ALF would never be able to make a successful comeback alone. He tried in the 1996 movie and in the talk show which only lasted a few episodes. If they rebooted him, it would only last a season or 2 maximum. NBC wanted to but plans were stopped when they saw how bad Coach was handled when they filmed the pilot of that one. NBC said if Coach was a hit, ALF would for sure come back. NBC is bringing back Saved By The Bell and Punky Brewster yet as web series and Punky got 10 episodes for season 1. It doesn't look like it will last as long as the original with that episode count.

in the syndicated version aired in the early 90's, an announcer said "ALF is an Alien Production", distributed by Warner Bros Television.

The "pie version" played during the holiday episodes of the first season, if Im not mistaken. After that it sorta just disappeared.

Plus the theme tune song itself was originally played in a higher key and slightly slower than the one heard in the U.S. Syndication reruns.

This version of opening was normally aired in 90s Japan without modification and I still remember it vividly.

According to Wikipedia, those plans were scrapped. Just as well, Max Wright who played Willie passed, so itll never be quite the same anymore.
