Thomas leaving rather than face the French invasion that should’ve been obvious to him for decades by that point is earnestly one of the biggest clown moves I’ve seen on this channel.
Like there’s been a lot of incompetence and rage quitting in the long history of the “MP in a nutshell” series but that takes the cake in my book

@@steffanyschwartz7801 Easily. The others were tunnel vision, this was a massive series of strategic blunders that Thomas was explicitly warned would happen to him thirty years beforehand. Thomas didn't just lose and quit, he singlehandedly determined the course of the game through complete fucking stupidity. Bo told him "we need to help Prussia or France will get too powerful" and he refused. The Bo said "France and Prussia are teaming up, we need to stop them or they'll just roll you later" and he did nothing. Thomas is entirely responsible for every bad thing that happened to Europe.
Thomas really thought he could just play single player in the colonies with Braun going full napoleon right across the channel.
Thomas didn’t just watch the Clown Car hit him, he watched the fucking thing getting built in a factory, be sold off to Braun, and then watched the car drive directly into his house before it crashed into him.
Thomas roleplaying as that ultra-isolationist and ultra-conservative prime minister was a great script, also the German-French-Austrian alliance against the UK is very based

He’s just learned the one fact that Britain preferred to avoid European wars in the 1800s, and interpreted that to mean he can completely ignore anything happening in Europe and not face any consequences.
He must forgor the whole "Crimean War" intervention thing. Also the Oriental crisis. Also the Belgium sphere of interest.

If it makes anyone happy, a few days later they continue the game:
Golden takes control of the UK.
Germany gets stuck in continuous civil wars, during which Bo takes back some of the land he lost.
Golden brings the full might of the British Empire down on Swimmy's USA, only to lose the naval war and cause the UK to basically collapse into a depression that triggers a massive civil war.

You play Vic 2 for SP and Vic 3 for MP. Because lets face it, the game brought technical advancement for the franchise and only time can tell if paradox would eventually added in missing feature from vic 2. For the time being, lotsa mods bring some of the content back
