Length retention is actually easier with relaxed hair. You dont have to worry about all the knots that take away the lenght. Thats why getting relaxed is to tempting its so much easier to retain length and have long hair.
Hi girl, stumbled upon your channel yesterday and I'm so excited. Your channel is one of the few high quality South African UA-cam channels. May your work grow bigger than you imagined in Jesus name. Thank you for your amazing channel🙏❤️
Hey girl hey💕 I discovered your channel just after you relaxed your hair and now I’m binge watching everything…I am not a relaxed girl by any means, matter of fact I used to have dreads for 7 years but I cut them when they were a bit longer than your hair length currently…I feel stuck with my natural hair sometimes but your content is inspiring me and I’m relearning a thing or two☺️
I only touch up my new growth every 16 weeks. I always under process my hair because I do not want straight hair, I only use relaxer to make my hair more manageable. The most important thing is low manipulation and protective styling and healthy hair care tips. Also I never use any heat on my hair.
Hey Tshego, Happy Sunday to you. How are you? Hope you're doing well. Loved today's video and the advice you gave us on relaxed hair and how to grow it to a desired length.Sending love always ❤️❤️❤️
Relaxers are not the enemy unless you do the relaxer wrong so if you're not a professional you could be doing it wrong the reality is is that relaxers actually make your hair more manageable for growth because it open up the hair follicle so that it can retain moisture moisture is what allows the hair to grow you need moisture for your hair to grow and retain less if you have hair that is more prone to drying which is usually 4B and 4C hair you have to be careful being natural because you are always going to have to wear your hair and protective style for the most part and if you don't wear protective styles you have to be very diligent about oiling your hair but even then the natural state of your hair is to be dry a lot of times and so you have to be careful. Course I had textures usually retain moisture better locked up in a protective style protective styles do grow your hair but you have to be careful with your edges
I did try to go completely natural serval times and it was just too hard for me to maintain my hair. I have very thick hair. Before trying to go natural, for about 20 years I was TexLaxing with relaxers. All I did is not leave the relaxer on for the recommended time. I guess you would call this under-relaxing my hair. My hair grew to almost my waist. I learned many good healthy hair tips during that process. My hair seemed to break off faster when I tried to go natural. So I am now back to TexLaxing, using all the healthy haircare tips I learned before and have added new healthy haircare tips. My hair is now about bra-strap length and the healthiest it has even been in my life. It has lots of texture, most people think I do not use any relaxer in my hair. I am blessed to work from home, that way I do very low manipulation. I do not style my hair at all if I am not going out, which is most days. It just stays protected under my silk cap, until I have to go out. Then when I do go out, I keep my hair in a protective bun. Yes, I know very boring, but my hair stays healthy that way. Thanks for sharing this video!👍😊
Loved this, thanks for the tips! I’m not a fan of air drying my hair either! Quick question/Video Suggestion: “relaxed hair and gym , dos and dont’s? “ :( my hairstyles don’t last and my hair’s always dry and staggly lol!
Hey Khosi! Glad you enjoyed. So for the gym I wear a headband to keep my edges and the perimeter of my hair flat so that the sweat wont revert the growth (do you understand what I mean) then I style my hair in a high bun to keep it tucked away from the sweat
As a natural hair girlie, my goal is to have healthy and long hair, its so funny that eversince i became natural, my hair is always in protective style( conrows or twist when im at home)... mmm As for enjoying my hair, ill know when the time comes to do variety of hairstyles but that time is definately not now
Hi I hope you have been well I wanted to ask the serum and light oils you use to have silky hair which products are they because I have relaxed hair and noticed that moisturizers are doing harm on my hair so I'd like to dry the silky look of using less products like the serum and light oils you apply when hair is dry since you say you dont use products daily And as well as the products you use on wash day and wanted to ask every week when you was your hair do you just wash or wash and conditione? Thank you❤
Hey girl, hey 😍 I've also been struggling to find products since I relaxed my hair. One thing that's been a game changer was using leave-in conditioner. My hair stopped breaking and feeling dry even though I was moisturising it. How do you get that healthy shine if you're not using moisturiser?
Hi love I’m on this relaxed journey with you. since I’ve relaxed, my hair is beautiful and flowing but it’s starting to shed & my edges are thinning. Do you have any advice
Hey! I’m so sorry to hear that… it’s difficult for me to advise as I don’t have enough content or information about your hair ☹️ so many factors could contribute to the issue you’re experiencing. Perhaps try testing different products and regimens and keep hair diary so you can try to diagnose the issue ❤️
Hey MsKiki W! You can check out the UA-cam channel Hairlicious Inc. Val is a veteran in the relaxed hair community. She has long and thick relaxed hair. Maybe her tips can help you along your journey as well.
