    Toronto is the same thing. Major highway in the city under construction. Major roads under construction all at the same time.
    As for potholes, there are areas where the homes pay at least $15,000 in property tax but have some bad potholes and for 1 road it took 3 years to get a suspension-breaking pothole covered up.

      Better to remove big stinky vehicles from our lives than anything else. They cost so much and they cost so much to keep them running.

      Yep, while a disabled Canadian human rights defender in exile for trying to expose mass grave human rights violations suffer in limbo without benefits, affordable housing, safe shelter, legal assistance which all the other immigrants enjoy. And have their arbitrary arrest and court records censored by US and Mexico immigration.

      The thing is that immigrants are contributing the same as citizens. All immigrants are working their asses off, paying the tax, and still getting the same crumbling infrastructure, and yeah... free stuff, but hey .. most citizens also get those free stuff right?

    Did you know who was Camilien Houde ? He was the mayor of Montréal back in the 1950's He refuse to build a road on the Mont-Royal the road was use only by tramways and horse driver buggies back in the days. They ask him why ? he said it will pollute the tranquillity of the Mount-Royal Park . He even said if they want to built a road it would be over his dead body ! That was exactly what happened after he died in 1958 than they built the road over the mountain where the Tram used to be alone and to had insult to the injury they named it after him.

    @Viva, Thank you so much for reminding what we are missing. Before exile I spent 6 months on Roslyn Ave near St Joe's scanning my documents. I would ride over the Mount, visit the police horses, then the Old Hockey arena grocery store, the parks with the pianos, the murals, then back to the drum circle (on Sunday), where I could pretend not to understand french when guys hit on me. aka Dystopian Justice..if only I had known about the Gainey-Collins connection 😮

  • @tijedemetal
    @tijedemetal Місяць тому +1

    With all due respect, I have many problems with what you are saying. The first being you not trying to bring solutions to the table and ironically having fun cycling alone on a road on a Sunday while complaining about it.
    People living in Montreal love to cycle and walk because it’s fast, flexible, silent and doesn’t brake roads as fast as cars do. That’s why more cycling and walking infrastructure is being built. Logically, city roads are always under construction because they are under WAY HEAVIER AND CONSTANT traffic from cars and trucks.
    Now don’t get me wrong, cars and truck are great for delivery and to get OUT of the city into Greater Montreal, but you don’t need that many roads for that.
    And then there’s you, the local or international tourist, who wants to have a great time in a city. That’s great! You really plan to do that by staying in a car, on roads ?
    This isn’t even ideology or politics, it’s just TRYING to think critically and logically about solutions (…I’ll admit that I also have some problems with your ideologies and political views, but getting into that is not useful to anyone).

    Last time I was in downtown Montreal if I recalled properly was 10 years ago, I live 15 minutes away by car, but I don’t drive to downtown because of all construction sites, and where I live I walk or bike because there is construction too. So when I see on Utube videos about Montreal that they look so nice I asked myself where is this Montreal it can’t be the one in Quebec. Unless whoever upload these videos have good connections with the city and asked no construction cones, no cars, empty metros, and no crimes while I’m doing my videos so I can fool tourists to come and visit. Good luck with that.

    Thank you for showing us Montreal through your eyes, Viva Family. It's nice to see Montreal without all the radicalze protesting going there. Montreal is a beautiful city, but it's the some of the residents of that city who make Montreal seem like a bad place to go and visit. It saddens me to see the vandalized statue monument of Queen Victoria. Why couldn't the Pro-Palestine protesters vandalized Pierre Trudeau's statue instead ? Are they too much of a cowards to do it ?
