I used to sing this song too...lol i officially love you. I forgot about how much heart was put into these songs...Im afraid i've lost that. Your very amazing... bravo
I have heard this songs more times than I can count,or at least record, and this version is definitely the best I have heard. You give it a haunting tone that it lacks, I dare say Taliesin would applaud.
Your singing of this song often brings tears to my eyes. You do the song such justice! I feel that this version really brings to life many of the subtle mysteries of the passion of john barleycorn- the perennial dying, resurrecting Dionysian hero that transcends cultures. Beautiful :)
Best version I have ever hard of this song. I have been listening to tons of your songs now and all I can say is you are a favorite of mine now. Both for your singing, your guitar playing and the feeling you show when you perform. Top stuff!
i was looking for limerick songs and stumbled upon yours, I must say I am a fan. So much so I just bought your album on iTunes and had to set up my own channel just to tell you. LOL. I'm looking forward to hearing more...you are exactly the kind of artist the world needs more of.. Sincerely, Tranquilbob
Wow! You look good. You sound great. This is the most sympathetic rendition of JB I have ever come across. 'Celtic'? - well, maybe. The tune is a variant of 'Dives and Lazarus' which is widespread as an accompaniment for several Irish songs. Who cares. This is really great. Well done. I have shared a video response of my instrumental arrangement. Best wishes, Colin
Yes, I agree with BlackcatNZ that this is a great version because of it's simplicity. Just guitar with no special effects and vocals. This is my favorite version I've heard even though I know everyone goes on about the Traffic version.
I've been listening to your version for a couple years now, my sister showed me how to comment. You do an excellent job. (The miller, He always serves them the worst) Anyhow thanks for the song.
Your performance of this song is so beautiful, haunting and powerful! I love it!
