Tomorrow, February 21, 2020, I will be a TAVR patient at University of Florida. As such I found your presentation very helpful and hopeful in advancing my own knowledge of the whys and wherefores of Aortic Stenosis. I am 84 years old with a history of angina, shortness of breath and afib, and am happy that my team has chosen the TAVR procedure for me. Thank you for your presentation.

Greetings from London, Ontario, Canada. When I first passed out (Aug. 2017) and I got diagnosed as having aortic stenosis was a 1 yr (Aug. 2018). By the time I had AVR done was 4 yrs after diagnosis. While I could have had TAVR done, I was considered low risk and it was deemed I could handle open heart surgery. I had surgery done in Sept. 2022 when I was 58 and it was what is known as the Ross Procedure. I found out after the fact that I had a bicuspid valve that was stenotic.

That was a great help to understanding aortic stenosis and was presented without fuss and with excellent pics and videos. Once, I visited a consultant who took out a pencil and paper to explain! At 225 euros a shot!

Excellent presentation Dr. Suh. Looking forward to more such advancements in the transcatheter valve replacements. Has there been any long term followup studies? I would love to go through some.
    Thank you.

It might be an 8 year old presentation but it's very good. Well done.
Emphasis is geared towards the team approach esp. (my interest is in echo) however, role of radiologist is highlighted in the mapping out sizing/and esp calcium scoring and locations. Very important to consider prior to the actual procedure execution. Two points though which I think were not touch in his presentation of data. One, is post op cases of Embolic stroke as a result of tavr and 2, cases of arthymia due to impinging of the conduction system.
Overall, very good. Thanks very much.

I have heard that there is a risk of needing a pacemaker after the TAVR procedure but Dr Suh did not mention this. How often does this risk present and why does it occur? Dr Suh mentioned that the heart is speeded up to reduce risk of heart pressure moving the valve with normal heart rate. How does the cardiologist do this?

Hello and thank you for this video. Is it possible to place a second TAVI valve in a first degraded TAVI ? Have you already done this ? Another question : Is it possible to put a TAVI valve in a Dacron Tube (Bentall operation) ? Thank you in advance for your answers...

I am always baffled why the doctors make these videos but don't engage in the comments section which I think is the other half of the equation....

Wow, no open heart , that's fantastic! Did not know that this was available. Is this type of procedure only available at certain hospitals or would every Cardiologist know how to do this?

I think I might be able to answer your question but at the same time all patients are different. I was born with a heart murmur 💔 and I'm guessing you too right? My Cardiologist said that they would have to replace the bisuspid artotic valve in the long run using a transcatheter.

Read a report about clearing the calcification stenosis by easy pills...making it chronic....no bread and butter?..had work angina 40 years back ignored..should have avoided doctors 15 years back as it seems my health problems may have been generated by their drugs and procedures and prosesses demanded drugs of expense.....
