These Ka-Bar throwing knives are completely dull on all sides, even the point is dull. Is that a bad thing?

The design of this knife allows you to correctly hold it for all styles. This should almost be marketed as a training throwing knife to perfect all grips. My son loves them.

I have these and using a sharpening stone, I beveled the first 1.5 inches of the edges. It takes about 15 minutes per knife. Not a cutting edge, just removed the flat spot and make the edges come to a point, similar to the edge on the Cold Steel Pro Flight knives and it makes a huge difference in how well it sticks.

Nice. These are GREAT! Excellent starter set. I've had a set for almost a year and have put these through the ringer. Being marketed as "throwing knives", I think they have gotten a bad wrap based on their reviews. Like you said, most reviews ding them for not being sharp bladed. I really think it's unfair to review these badly for not being sharp. Just my opinion though.
Instinctive half spin on these are AWESOME! This is also one of the knives I started with no-spin throwing with.
Funny story on no-spin. My first no-spin experience was with a Spyderco 9" throwing set. These are absolutely not designed for no-spin, they are rotational knives. But, the flare between the handle and blades forced me to use a low grip for no-spin (sort of a Fedin style grip). After I learned the mechanics of that style of grip, It was the Ka-Bar set I turned to to refine and really get turned onto no-spin throwing.
Side note - The Spyderco knives are amazing with instinctive half spin!! Little bit pricy though.
Nice review David. Love it. Keep on Chunkin!

This is exactly the comment I was hoping for. These knives have terrible reviews but it's all because they are not sharp. But the design of the knives is great for working on lots of different styles. Agreed that instinctive half-spin is strong with this knife.

"Not for me 😁 My solution is simple, Since there is a (Drop-Point) design sharpen the "TIP" and "UPPER" edges 1/12 to 2 inch surface area on (both) sides...(I actually used a WORKSHARP 3 in 1 hand-held) 👍🏼 took me at least 30 minutes per knife, It consist of Diamond, Smooth, Ceramic & leather compound strap with it)." 🤷🏼‍♂️

Non riesco a farli piantare, inoltre la punta di è un po' arrotondata. Qualche tutorial ad hoc per questi coltelli?

For these knives I have to throw them harder, I use more force. It also helps if you use soft wood like pine. End grain targets work best. If you get too frustrated you might want to just get new throwing knives. Ones that have a better point.

The cost is for all 3. They come in a 3 pack with a sheath.

@@halfspinthanks for the review was looking at these for my first set, have been mastering half spin and no spin with kitchen knives and scissors and after losing 3 tips i think it's time to get some proper throwers! 👍🏻🗡

@jimmymcgill2557 glad you liked the video. If you really want to get started with throwing knives I recommend getting something designed after the original Tom Tom Arrows. I have a couple videos coming out where I highly recommend the Hitdudu, The Beak throwing spikes. They are amazing for the price and feel like professional throwing knives. I used to also recommend any of the throwing spikes by JXE JXO which are also great. ua-cam.com/video/hxfa0OfD8Sg/v-deo.htmlsi=dmhGkBDu6BNoq0xY

Decent starter set. I passed on them because I've got way more knives than I need and I don't get many sets because I tend to throw 1 at a time which cuts way back on damage. Now the kabar thunder horse thrower, now that's a knife baby! Take care brother.

Yeah, I would say anyone who is already good at knife throwing and has a set of good knives should pass on these.
