Morrowind Mod of the Day - Impact Sounds Showcase

- In vanilla Morrowind, when you swung your weapon at an object, it wouldn't make a sound, it was as if it wasn't impacting anything at all, no clang, no recoil, no reaction, and consequently, no immersion.
But today's Mod of the Day fixes that, for today we're showcasing Impact Sounds by Archimag, a mod that makes it so, when you hit a surface or object with your weapon, it'll actually make a sound, bouncing off whatever material you hit, and, depending on the type of material, even cause sparks to fly!
Different types of materials will make different impact sounds, with notably different sounds for hitting metal, stone, grass, wood, glass, and weaved objects, including different sounds for different types of weapons! Not only that, but hitting a random object with your weapon will actually degrade it, with stronger materials, like stone and metal, harming your weapon more than others.
This is a simply fantastic immersive audio addition to the game, and pretty much a must-have for those looking to have a more immersive experience!

The mod is quite impressive and very vanilla friendly.
Its still amaze me still, how the Morrowind modding community. Still manage to surprise me, with how great they can be :)
@Zzzzzzzzzzz still.
@1:08 21 years?! Wow, time really flew by since I first played Morrowind. 😀Love this impact mod though!
It's amazing how much value something as simple as this has. I actually just added sounds for picking up and releasing objects in my game's inventory panel, and the entire team was blown away by it. One of the guys on the team said, "This is so weird to say, but I actually feel compelled to move things around in the inventory more, now that there are sounds for moving things. Before, I'd want to move something to another slot or position and just wouldn't but now I want to just because it has a sound; such an odd feeling to have." And that blew me away because I feel the same. These little things change the experience in a big way. Gonna be grabbing this one today, for sure.
What's that mod of the sounds of the inventory, please?
@@jaumealcazo6386 I was talking about something I coded for my own game. Morrowind already features sound for inventory manipulation. That's where I got the idea to add it to mine. There may be a mod with improved or unique sounds, but by default Morrowind already plays sounds when manipulating inventory items.
Mods that add more immersion to a game should always appreciated 😁
We need more mods for morrowind
I know right, there's like two of them
You are kidding right ?
@@rodmarker2071 He's completely serious. More mods for morrowind.
Couldn't agree more...
@Zzzzzzzzzzz wow sounds cool 👍👍
Another must-installed mod from the brilliant author
*cries in OpenMW*
Still a phenomenal mod tho!
Holy crap I forgot about early access lol.😂 I only supported the patreon to support you, I forgot about seeing stuff early. Anyways, does it break stealth and give your location away?
It is easy to forget, unfortunately I don't add stuff to early access as often as I should. But I do appreciate the support! To answer your question, no it doesn't break stealth, or at least, doesn't seem to (though for that matter, noise doesn't really play a role in Morrowind's stealth mechanics, possible future mod idea for someone there).
be cool if they could add a little animated shake to the clutter items you hit - the base mod is already awesome tho
Seamless
Great touch! I never noticed it. Until now I didn't feel like role-playing whacking everything around Vvadernfell you n'wah! He-he. I wonder what the citizens would think about your behavior in-world, xD lol. But now that you mention it, I will, of course. I hope this works in OpenMW sooner or later. Now we need a mod with NPCs saying “Would you mind please stop whacking my house, you n'wah?”.
thank you, Sir
Great mod , but as I use OpenMW pity ... I moved to OpenMW when i got a new rig - I got sick of all the tweaking with MGE 4K patch etc - it didn't that I have a new Gforce card . But great mod ...nontheless 👍👍
Now need to add scorchmarks)
I guess that's the job for OpenMW: I would be surprised if it is possible with vanilla engine...
By the way DEG, I think you should do a shoot-out to the voices of Vvadernfell, please.
Sadly not compatible with OpenMW
What's the mod for quick menu items in HUD?
This might have been better if someone wasn't banging stuff all the way through the video.
Made you look, made you stare, made you lose your underwear!
