I like your stories from New Zealand I served my Mission there 50 years ago. I met a lot of people that remembered Mathew Cowley . After Area Conference we were sharing pictures with each other some one said that man is the miracle baby. The one that was born blind and received hi sight when given his name and blessing from Mathew Cowley
Beautiful stories! I pray to have that kind of faith to heal! ❤ Many years ago, as you know, it was common for married men to be called on a mission. My uncle had one child when he was called to serve a southwest mission on a reservation. One day as he and his companion were driving along a lonely dirt road, my uncle spotted a small bundle on the side of the road. Inside the bundle was a baby boy. He had been left to die. He was ill and his parents had left him not knowing what to do for him. My uncle brought him home and later adopted him. He is my cousin Billy now almost 70 years old. Billy's parents lived in a hogan on the reservation. My Aunt and Uncle purchased a home in Richfield Ut for them and moved them in. It had all the modern conveniences of that time. Washer, dryer, dishwasher etc. But they were very unhappy in it and longed for the reservation so they were helped to move back. My Aunt and Uncle never judged them for their practices but were always grateful that they were allowed to adopt Billy and raise him as their own. Billy would go back and visit his parents from time to time. I always loved the story of how he came to be in our family. He was a favorite cousin and always fun to spend time with. ❤
Thank you, that will be my next FHE for my husband..I do not get stories like you share from his Bible only church. I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father who blesses us all and that Christ like family who cared for Michael.
I am so glad that I stumbled across your site and can enjoy your inspirational stories, which truly are sunshine for the soul. God bless, dear brother.
I found your channel a few weeks ago. So uplifting! I was touched by your ending words. Yes, we are watched over more than we realize. Our Savior is often so very close!
I could always sense God's Presence, even as a child. For me, it was scary, frightening, but in the sense that He is so great, so powerful. And yet, I knew that He was watching over me. So when I learned that He came to us as Jesus Christ, lived a perfect life for us in our stead, took all our sins upon us, nailing them to the cross, I said something like, "That's MY God, that's what He would do for me!" So I gave my life to Christ, right there, just a minute after I learned about Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit came into me and I was born again -- a new Creature in Christ. I had just turned 5 years old.
I have received many miracles and done many miracles, but the fact is, all miracles are of God, by and through His Grace. A blood clot went through my left eye and destroyed the retina. So I'll go up to the roof of the Temple, _look_ across the city at the building where that doctor told me that I would never see with that eye again, and praise God for giving me a new retina.
@@GodLovesYouAskHim Here's another minor miracle... I often go to the Temple roof to worship God. Sometimes I'm in the most wretched of conditions and have no business being alive. It was one of those times that I went up there to watch the sunset and the sky became heavily clouded over. I should have checked the weather radar first. So I requested if He might clear the sky in a line above the sunset, a line so that I would know that it was from Him, so that I might see the blue sky. And the Lord God of all the universe listened to my quiet plea, and a line formed across the entire sky immediately. Everything below the line became crystal blue sky, and I watched the sunset. But the sun refused to set in my heart.
Brother, thank you so much. I struggle to feel much when it comes to spiritual things, and I was both reminded and felt great things of goodness as I listened to your stories today! It was like I am a partially spiritually-blind man receiving some of my sight back for a moment. Thank you! I have no words for when I listen to the amazing things you share. I invite you to consider closing your stories with a testimony in the name of Jesus Christ. I humbly testify that I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true, and that I know by the power of the Holy Ghost that told me so strongly one fateful day in seminary that the boy Prophet Joseph Smith Jr. truly did see God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ; in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, amen.
I am so happy to hear that this message was inspiring to you. That is why I am doing this. I feel we need more inspiring messages and material in our lives. Thanks for watching. I have an amazing story coming on Wednesday
I served my mission in the Dakota's. I served on the Flandreau Reservation and taught amongst the Lakota. Thank you for these wonderful stories, especially the story about Michael.
So glad you appreciated it. The practices of other cultures can seem off to us. I know it is very hard for our Native Americans to try to understand and fit into our culture too. I have a up coming video talking about early stories with the Indians in Canada and the West. Thanks for watching
@@GodLovesYouAskHim I believe this is sacred land as the natives do. Joseph Smith is correct that the garden of Eden was in Missouri. Which makes the rest of this land what God once called Eden. I think Latter-day Saints and the Indians can both perfectly agree that this land is special.
This us a story from a mission companion of Ivan Woodward Sr. Ivan Woodward Baptized my Grandmother Lillie Deel Cordingley in Virginia on Oct 3 1899.. Ivan Woodward lived in Franklin Idaho and my grand parents lived in Preston Idaho. My grandfather Howard Lee Cording served his mission in Virginia and met his to be wife on his mission there . I remember Ivan Woodward Sr as a young child and to think his mission companion met the person who dragged the body of Joseph Smith's body to the well. Ivan Woodward Born 4 March 1877, Franklin, Franklin, Idaho Married 13 November 1901, Logan, Cache, Utah Died 9 November 1964, Logan, Cache, Utah Ivan Woodward was born in a little log house in Franklin, Idaho. He got his first pair of shoes when he was in the sixth grade. He got them wet and put them in the oven to dry, where they nearly burned up. Later his father bought shoes in bulk, hoping that his children could use all of the sizes included. By the age of 13, Ivan had taken over the work of the farm, as well as hauling the winter’s wood supply from the canyon. He left for a mission on October 20, 1897 to the southern states, where he labored in Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Kentucky. He and his companion baptized 27 members into the church. One night his companion, Elder Joseph Pulley, had a dream that Ivan described in his missionary journal: “In the dream, he saw the two of us approach a three-story plantation home. As we got up on the porch, we saw the ugliest, shaggiest, gray dog with long hair over its eyes and face. This dog started growling at us like he’d like to eat us alive. He kept growling until he foamed at the mouth. When he had exhausted himself, he went off and died. “Elder Pulley told me the dream the next morning. We started our tracting. We came to just such a building as he saw in him dream. I was doing the talking at this place. I knocked at the door. A lady came and answered the door. I introduced ourselves as elders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, sometimes called Mormons. I delivered the message to her, gave her some literature, and asked her if she would like to buy a little book, “The Voice of Warning,” for the sum of 10 cents. The lady was very interested and said she’d go and get the money. “Down at the end of the long, forty-foot hall there sat an old man who looked just like the dog Elder Pulley had seen in his dream-long hair and long whiskers-we just could see his eyes. He rose up off his seat (he didn’t belong at this building but had come with the purpose of buying it). He walked up the full length of the hall to where we were standing. He said to me, ‘Did I hear the word Mormon?’ “Yes. That’s what they sometimes call us.” “He started to rave and curse and swear-called us all the vile names his vocabulary would allow him to speak, saying, ‘I was there at Carthage when they killed Joe Smith. I saw him fall from the upper window of the jail and I helped drag him over and set him up by the well curb. We thought that would put an end to Mormonism.’ “Then Elder Pulley started in on him. He warned him if he did not repent of his evil ways the judgment of God would overtake him in his sins. The old fellow went back down the hallway and sat down. “Three days after this experience this old fellow dropped over dead. The lady of the house went all over the community and said, ‘These men are possessed of a supernatural power. Don’t cross them or they will pronounce judgment on you.’ “When the ministers learned what the lady had to say and heard we were there, they opened up their churches to us. Everyone invited us into their homes. We were never turned down for anything we asked for in that county after that as long as we stayed there.”
