The thing that starts to talk is a ETC (electronic toll card). There is a lot of tolls in Tokyo etc. and with that you just have to slow down at a toll booth and it register the amount automatically, instead of stop and pay with cash/card. The card in the reader is linked to a bank account of your choice. The voice is basically telling you to insert a card. =)

Speaking of welding I'm doing this welding school right now at oxarc and I thought for sure once I looked at the test I was going to fail it no matter what did a whole ton of practice and came a welding zombie and somehow got enough confidence to do the test did the test they tested it / bended it I passed I for sure thought that it was not going to work but it did so now I only have to do the overhead and then I'm fully certified but I will say " WITH enough practice YOU will create perfection"

I love the Evo, but DAMN that WRX exhaust sounds mint!! Loving this build so far. The GC8/GM8 is my favorite Subie body style, so this GF8 wagon is sweet too.

Your issue with starting the car may just be a check ball in the fueling system that holds pressure in the fuel rails. If it sticks open the fuel leaks back down and every time you start it the fuel pump has to prime the fuel system again. From what I've found, the fix is just driving it a lot
I'm hopefully getting my first turbo subaru this week, i would really like to know the first modification to do, as far as I know it's bone stock at the moment
The EL clowns that rant and rave how it's so much better are hilarious. There are mild gains to EL headers, sure, but not enough to make some substantial difference.. It's all in the tune

I dont know. I gained almost 40whp and 60 torque making the switch to EL headers. To each their own. But when I DD my Subaru, performance and reliability over anything.

Sounds nice, I had a GC8 UK turbo 2000 wagon with an original Scorpion exhaust on it and loved it :)
Fyi when you start up the evo, its telling you to "please insert the card" as in the card for the etc reader (japanese highway toll reader cards)

cut the bottom half of the turbo heatshield off. Makes it easy to install/remove and keep the chimney cooling / heatshielding.
So excited for another Subaru build!
