I would be driving to Norm's store to pick up this beauty instead of risking it getting lost or damaged during shipping. Some tasty over the hills from Lemmo! Well wishes to all in Florida to keep safe.
Hendrix is reputed to have said: "Telecasters have two sounds - bad and worse." Michael Lemmo makes the dreaded "dark circuit" sound like heaven, and maybe it's just me but has anyone ever been better than Lemmo with the "dark circuit?" "People Get Ready" was stupendous.
Really like watching you play. Looks like you're getting comfortable in california. I really like you on the show. I look forward to seeing you during the week. A very excellent guitar player.
Really a nice Tele. Before I get too deep. Just want to say I love Telecasters above all other guitars. The dark circuit capacitor is out of the range of usable. Why I like my modern vintage builds. I can just swap cap values until it is right. The stability got a little squirrelly at the end. Not sure if that was intonation or machine tuners or it just simply went out of tune. Still a great guitar with a world of potential and in great shape.
The dark circuit is "out of the range of usable" ? Admittedly, it has limited use but didn't you listen to what Michael played on the dark circuit? Sounded pretty darn good and "usable" to me.
@@anthonyc1883 Micheal is an excellent guitar player. It's a 52'-53' Tele of course it is a great guitar. But yes the dark circuit capacitor is too strong. Like half that value would be nice. It would also be nice to hear it set up properly. Put it on a strobe tuner and get it dialed in. I just call it like I hear it. A little brash and overly honest opinion. Yet if it was mine I doubt I would modify it. Worth too much money original 😕 is what it is. Why I like my modern vintage builds. I can do whatever. I do have a vintage 83 telecaster. And yes I have modified it tastefully. Copper shielding and modern twisted wires. Quieted the buzzing down. Needs a nice fret job and a new bone nut. Pots and output jack are scratchy and poppy. Probably take it apart and de-oxidize everything and put it back together. I just don't give a damn. It's been my guitar since I was 13 and it will be my guitar until I die. Then it will be my daughter's guitar.
(VERY RARE FUTURE VINTAGE) I have the very first Gibson ever made exclusively for Guitar Centers... The neck has a twist but that makes it even more rare and its a second like a lot of the others they made but I left it out in the sun on purpose and now it has a one of a kind finish.... a G.C. salesman scratched it but I tell everybody Tom Murphy did it and they all believe me... I might consider selling it for a lot of money to Gibson so they can put it on display with the other rare guitars they have at their factory...

I'd like this guy to be more versatile somehow. Don't get me wrong, this sounds awesome! However, this indie influence is starting to get old. Since, he's doing demo's we should be able to hear these amazing instruments in some different styles of music. I'm not trolling, this is just a friendly advice. Peace 🤘
No matter how much you overpay to them for other high end guitars, “to establish a relationship,” they will never call you back on blackguards or pre-61 strats, no matter the budget, unless you’re JB or a local customer. Stop wasting your time hoping to get something remarkable from them unless you are in the above category. They aren’t that happy to have customers outside of their circle. Lemmo is too high to care, Jack was at least nice on the phone. Perhaps Norm is as nice as you’d like to think, but…….
Someone is a cry baby…Norm can do whatever he chooses with his cherished vintage guitars…if you have the coin…you will have no problem finding a treasure at some point. Why Knock these nice people. Go Away 😢
This is THE dream guitar. And to be over 70 years old it looks brand new.
Over 70 years! (I feel old 😆)
Wow Lemmo, that dark circuit piece was so beautiful!
And Michael nails it again. Nothing but the best! 👌👌👌✌️✌️✌️🎸🎸🎸
You can only admire when a guitar is made with passion. That is a mind blowing sound.

THANK YOU ! 🙏🏻
Everything Lemmo plays just blows me away.
Getting goosebumps on my goosebumps. Sounds awesome Mike.
70+ years of Tele greatness, matched with the ML "touch"!
I'm less than a novice. But I can hear greatness. That's gotta be at least 100k. What a treasure

Very nice Michael !
One of the very best guitars I've seen and heard on Guitar of the Day. It's just incredible.
Nicest sounding black guard I have seen on GOTD. Beck, Paige and Lemmo sure make some pretty music together. 👏👏👏

Great job Michael. Clean, killer tone. Thanks Norman

Magical playing Michael.
“People Get Ready” by Jeff Beck/Rod Stewart is a song I have always wanted to learn. You motivated me Lemmo!
Originally by Curtis Mayfield and The Impressions. Rod and Jeff would undoubtedly want you to check it out.
Very nice Lemmo! That’s a beautiful tele.

If possible a real ‘52 thermometer case should found for that possibly red ash Fraxinus Pennsylvanica.
Sweet - Sweet Axe
That dark circuit reminds me of Bill Frisell.
What looper do you use?
why theres not only flat screws?
Did someone remove the bridge cover between the backroom and the couch?
What is the first song called?
Ive been wondering this too. I've heard him play it before and it sounds so familiar

People get ready
There's a train a-coming
You don't need no baggage
You just get on board
All you need is faith
To hear the diesels humming
Don't need no ticket
You just thank the Lord
People get ready
For the train to Jordan
Picking up passengers
From coast to coast
Faith is the key
Open the doors and board them
There's room for all
Among the loved the most
There ain't no room
For the hopeless sinner
Who would hurt all mankind just
To save his own
Have pity on those
Whose chances are thinner
Cause there's no hiding place
From the Kingdom's Throne
Damn, son

Gorgeous piece. I hope the new owner plays the living shit out of it. That's not far off from Roy B's Nancy.
Why did you not demonstrate the blending?
Glad it is not going to Bonamassa. Guitars should be played, not hoarded in a museum.
Lemmo’s got a real hair helmet going on.
That thing CANNOT go to FL!!
I dont think a '53 Telly in Mint is going in a shipping box. More like an armored truck.
Man that has some heavy strings on it
👍✌❤😎
is that the same one that was sold on Pawn Stars by a teenage guy for $13K?
A little Led Zeppelin.
Is that me or out of tune ???
Damn … that guitar was way out of tune

Hello from Cape Hatteras N.C.
I wouldn't ship that to Florida big hurricane coming gulf side
Great observation ! Norm, I'd wait a 'few' weeks at best. Floriduh is about to get F'ed again unfortunately
Hand deliver. FedEx will thrash it.
