Exactly! Like who is going to say, "my realistic dream is to play at state fairs in the hot sun where half the crowd doesn't even know who I am. 👍"Like, we wanna go all the way duh lol 👏
That is something that I have found consistently annoying in my life: people not seeing what I see. And then, they would be surprised when I pull off something like "Oh! It actually worked..." Took a long while to realize that they don't read minds and can't see what I see, but also that they don't know me and what I can do like I do. Just like you said: you gotta see and believe in your own potential first and take things one step at a time. The others will come around eventually. Thanks for the talk, Tessa!
Definitely a good general lesson for growing up. Not all people ever have supportive people around them growing up, but if you do, there just about always comes a day when most people don't believe in you, and all you have is your own motivation and confidence It's often not personal or malicious, but well-meaning managing of expectations. Of course, if you're going to do a thing, you still do the thing, and keep building the support network that furthers your goals
Did they never hear how hard "Oh Tommy" went? Pfft they were crazy not to expect big things of you. "I'm so obsessed and it's not for the best" was such a raw line.
You are playing in Ally Pally this Sunday! Can't wait to see you live. Could have gone to the Utrecht concert but dodie wasn't there for Bittersweet daze. Soooo bought tickets for the London concert and flying all the way from the Netherlands just to see you guys!
This reminds me of telling my adviser in college that I want to be an author and him telling me I should try something more realistic like being an editor. I don’t think it’s bad advice necessary, but sir you have clearly not read my work!😂
Tbh the only way i found her was cause someone dropped some tote bags off at my job and looked her up but her music is solid! might make a back patch out of one of those totes
i was at one of your apartment concerts in portland many years ago, and its been amazing to see how much you have grown since then! keep chasing that dream you'll get there ❤️
I make and post art and a lot of folks have started comparing view counts to like… a coffee shop worth of people, then maybe an auditorium worth, and so on and so on. That’s not nobody! I hope we all reach our arenas one day!!
You should try to get into Coachella. I saw alotta new Artists doing their thing during the morning hrs. And alot of ppl were watching em made me happy. You will definitely get a good slot and rock out there.
This!!! People are so scared to go after their dreams because they think other people won't get behind them on it. The thing is, YOU need to believe in you and your dreams first before you can make others believe it. The rest is all about persuading them through hardwork and skill to see your visions the way you intend them to💃🏻
It's called potential energy blindness. For some reason the leadership in 2023 has it in spades. Everyone is concerned about the already moving kinetic energy "ticket sales" and not the potential energy.
I listen to like death metal I've branched out a little bit you know I like gangster rap and I guess Jewel Fiona Apple but that's it but I have to add you to that list because you are freaking awesome I listen to your songs like all the time it's in my playlist so you'll get "ra ra ra growl!" death metal then it'll be you and it'll smooth it out I just really think you're awesome.
The mistake the manager made is using the word "dream". Dream means the endpoint, the ceiling, and what they meant to say was, "What do you see as your starting point and what are we working towards?" That's how I see it, and you are right, you have to shoot for the stars. The worst thing anyone can do is work for a small or tiny goal.
It's not a perspective thing, as it has NOTHING to do with them "not seeing" something "in you"... they don't know you, and it doesn't even matter tbh... They could know OF you, and be aware that you are talented, dedicated, and qualify in ALL of the tangible ways that matter... BUT... it all comes down to LOGISTICS in the end... they are dealing with numbers of people, they are a business... a business of managing time, talent, shows, performances, negotiations, etc. They HAVE to ask SOME questions, as SOME of the clientele they work with very much so WILL be interested in ONLY going SO far. Content in making a living, playing local, booking side gigs, etc. So OF COURSE they're gonna ask. But beyond the logistics of it in that regard, there are the logistics of the actual talented and dedicated winning that lottery of fame that is required to play "arenas". It has little to do with how good or committed you are to winning that lottery, and you should probably realize that by now. This deep in the process / industry as you are... This is near akin to playing pro ball, or becoming a professional actor / actress.... there is SO MUCH dedicated, committed, life-long players in that realm, of which have EVERYTHING AND MORE needed to hit that upper most tier, but they won't ever get there... and that's because it's a numbers game in the end. Only so much can be in trend, only so many ppl are gonna make it to that upper fame level, and much of that is luck. So... when they're asking questions like this, if in your head this has ANYTHING to do with who you are, or what they think of you as a person, then you're immediately way off on all of this. A bit narcissistic even... These people live a life too, day in day out.... work, home, family, blah blah blah... and when you catch them at work, and they ask YOU a question, believe you me, you are work... and so is that question.
Absolutely hate arena shows. Small venues are far more intimate. I get it though, means more revenue but personally I just don't go for those kinds of shows.
Yeah but My God is just kinda a trash song... And you should definitely fire whoever did the sound mixing for "you are not my friend" because it sounds like you're singing through a pillow
@@melissad9899 I have literally had this same hair color. The bottle says neon yellow. It was my favorite color so far. You sound foolish for assuming someone's character based on their hair color
To be fair, they LITERALLY asked "what's your dream" and then went "nah. I meant more what I can book you on."
Like, ask a clearer question, please!

Right! When's the pre-sale?

We see you. We see the arenas. We'll be queuing to make sure we're at the front. Love you Tessa!
I liked that early acoustic stuff. The acoustic video for Not Over You is the most charming video on UA-cam.
Look at those eyes. Look how cute she is!!!!
That SF show should’ve been in an arena. It was BIG magic
Love you and your music!
I was at work a few months ago, and went 3 offices over, and saw a signed album of yours. there's more of us than you know.
Guaranteed you'll be there soon. You're amazing Tessa!

I heard the supermarket playing one of your songs the other day, which I feel is some kind of milestone.
Tessa hit the griddy on em
People watching this short: And I took that _personally_

Tremendous
You sure are more than something..❤
Your hair looks like Hayley williams hair of the music "Stay the night" 2013
В первом клипе в супермаркете, была такая милашка
i hope you sell out the 02 in London..

Not taking things personally is hard but we gotta try somehow
Arenas, here in Italy. Arena di Verona is ok
Thanks for the story! Good stuff! You're doing awesome! Arenas are in the future! ❤

Tessa Violet gets arenas crammed jammed full of fans!
she's selling out so hard

Id buy arena tickets to see you. 🎉
can't wait to see you perform arenas
Had they see it 😮
You are not playing arenas yet. Yet. What I saw in last night's show here in Vancouver was huge. Was different indeed.
Yis❤
I just discovered Tessa but I prefer the acoustic indie pop Tessa😢
너무 귀엽고 예쁘다
Tessa I see more potential in you STILLLLL LOADINGLIPSTICKLOVERSLADYGIRLYLA
Why would someone ask somebody what's their dream to straight push it under the train? Makes no sense.
oouuu
Absolutely hate arena shows. Small venues are far more intimate. I get it though, means more revenue but personally I just don't go for those kinds of shows.
Hey
But did you hit the cray button?
Yeah but My God is just kinda a trash song... And you should definitely fire whoever did the sound mixing for "you are not my friend" because it sounds like you're singing through a pillow
Wouldn't that be in the middle of her career given her early high fashion and daily vlogg career paths first
With Mike calzone
cant wait to see you again booboo
First, your dreams do not have to be realistic. Second, you could totally do arenas.
Seems like you did take this personally
And where are you now.
maybe its the hair
Neon yellow is not weird. Having neon yellow hair is a lot of fun!
@amyjones2767 im not saying its not fun, or that its weird. But neon hair and say, nose rings, are now so common that it can have the opposite affect.
Maybe it's your weird hair color.
Neon yellow is not weird. Having neon yellow hair is a lot of fun!
@@amyjones2767 mmmmkay. That's not neon yellow. Also? Your words sound so foolish and if you can't see that, that's the problem.
Ah yes, "weird" hair color is definitely what holds artists back from filling arenas. Get off the internet grandma.
This 100%. It's like she's trying to be a man repeller, why loose half your audience? She's such a pretty girl too.
@@melissad9899 I have literally had this same hair color. The bottle says neon yellow. It was my favorite color so far. You sound foolish for assuming someone's character based on their hair color
Whatever bro
Smell ya later, hater ✌️
that's not an arena tho, so what's the point
The point is growth, finding self-pride in how much she has grown, and the message to not let someone else's limited view hinder yourself.
Are you challenged in some way or are you just pretending cause it's the internet?
@@amyjones2767 yeah i get that but she still hasn't reached the goal that she had previously stated so this makes little sense
Come back to God and His plan for you and wether it’s arenas or coffee houses you will feel more fulfillment than without Him!
Pretty eyes
