Maryland Senate Candidate Rips Into Opponent's Abortion Stance

- Angela Alsobrooks, who won the Democratic primary for Maryland’s open 2024 U.S. Senate election this November, spoke to MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell about her race against the Republican Senate nominee and former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan.
Hogan faces an uphill battle, being a Republican vying for a reliably blue Senate seat. However, if he were to flip it, that could potentially allow Republicans to seize control of the Senate.
Hogan has been popular in Maryland by burnishing his reputation as an anti-Trump moderate Republican, but on the issue of abortion specifically, his past record is anything but moderate. Hogan vetoed legislation in 2022 that would’ve expanded abortion in Maryland, but, now that he is a candidate for Senate, he has since attempted to reassure concerned abortion-rights voters by stating he ‘will continue to protect your right to make your own reproductive choices.’
There is significant concern that, should Republicans win back both the Senate and White House, they could vote to pass a federal abortion ban in 2025. If elected to the Senate, Hogan’s vote in either direction would be a crucial deciding factor.
If Alsobrooks wins this race, she will make history by becoming Maryland’s first-ever, and the U.S's fourth-ever, Black woman senator.

Mandatory vasectomies is a very viable concept.....
In terms of the big picture:
1. Stops unchosen pregnancy
2. Stops mental and physical life long scars on female children from unchosen pregnancy.
3. Stops young men from being held accountable to 18 years of child support by an unchosen pregnancy.
4. Stops fathers from going to jail for failure to make support payments.
5. Reduces the need for social programs.
Which, in my opinion will, over time, result in every single child being a chosen child and the return of the family unit with fathers in the home to raise their children and to give their sons a hands on role model.
Or....... you know, the government can give women's bodies back.

I said this exact thing, except I added that men can impregnate a women 365 days of the year, several times a day. A woman only has a short window every month to conceive, so gop men should get a vasectomy. If gop women are pregnant, they should continue to term, regardless of the consequences. I really think this will be the national issue that will rule the day in November. I really think that this will cut across party lines and the level of pushback from women of every political stripe, will bury Trump and the GOP. In the limited number of situations that this has been tested, so far, has seen the pro-choice side crush the pro-life side.
If it can just be gotten on ballots before Republicans decide ballot initiatives need to be made illegal, so our "rulers" can make the decisions for us.
