It takes away the apeal of commerce township. Parking lots and vacant stores arent pretty. We dont want to be novi. We dont want be a city. We want to live in big lake house, have clean water, safe and quiet neighboorhoods, big suburisn schools, hilly roads, and nature parks. As if we dont have ton of empty stripalls already, and were not right next big cities that have 100s of shopping centers, and restraunts. Like bruh 15 minutes.
Google predicts 50,000 retail stores are expected to close by 2027, BUT! What is Commerce Township doing? Building MORE stores. It's as upside down as capital Hill is-- putting a senior citizen in charge of running an entire country. Psycho! Let's build a nature preserve. Something EVERYONE will enjoy, instead of bricked buildings that store things none of us needs. That's what makes Commerce Township gorgeous, it rolls, instead of being shoehorned in like a birmingham.
Been an electrician in Oakland for over 40 years, I smell a disaster in the works with this Five and Main thing. Commerce Township is always short sheriffs and now they'll be spread even thinner. What few there are will be responding to Smash-n-Grabs and making its cities citizens wait even longer for concerns and emergency calls. Don't Force this nightmare to permanently live in our backyards. If some of us wish for the experience of the smattering of exclusive fancy stores, you can pop open to nearby Northville and have a ball.
Have lived here all my life and love to get away from the hustle and bustle to beautiful Walled Lake and Commerce township area. So utterly sad to see Developers push their greed and change gorgeous areas into developed noise. Lynn is spot on, the traffic is already a noisy nightmare in this bottled necked area and they're trying to add to that chaos. Mark my words what's being planned will soon be considered, a total train wreck. Wasted money and a beautiful area that's becoming unbeautiful.
People always have some crap to complain about 😂. Commerce is not some small town in the middle of nowhere it's a suburb of a major city in a metro area of millions. If she wants a REAL small town lifestyle she needs to move out of Metro Detroit. Plenty of small towns where developments aren't happening anytime soon and no such thing as traffic. Spawl has already reached wayyy past Commerce. She must be crazy to think all that empty land wasn't going to get developed eventually
Eh i would say milford is more of upbeat surburia while commerce township is a quiet town, but there so close to each other it kinda pointless to build a new shopping distract when every one goes downtown milford. The malls in the area are closing and other struggling to get by. While tons of shopping plazas go vacant. We couldnt even get everyones voted pizzera to stay open. Building shopping distict at the hardest locations to get to right off m-5, and adding an additional round about is dumb idea. If were going use the land, build another hospital , god knows we dont have enough beds at our local, and dnc sucks as for middle class towns.
😂 its gonna be just like Allen Park where the Veterans Hospital used to be! Stores. Restaurants. Mega Traffic. Outer Drive floods is heavy rains. Southfield Freeway floods too. Trash. Shopping carts EVERYWHERE! Break-ins are up! Stolen cars are up! Your going to ruin the area!
Why are more stores, restaurants being added? They end up going out of business within months. That new development will have empty store fronts in no time. People can hardly pay their bills now. What makes anyone think they will be dining out and shopping!
You really think people in the Novi, Commerce Township, West Bloomfield, Milford areas can’t afford to dine out? Because that’s the people that will mostly frequent this area.
@@seagreen2034 Yes they can afford to eat out but why would they go to commerce when they already have more restraints and shopping plazas then anyone could desire. Klancy's fresco, le rendez vue, ect. all voted best, and most loved in our town but not single lasted. Why? .Commerce and milford population is half that of novi. And never got traffic from novi or walled lake. We have the right amount to support our current population. Its like how wixom build high end condos, that all but one have been vacant for the last 10yrs, expecting rich novi or walled lake to move in. Instead citizens just took away from the appeal the city.
I guess they haven't seen all the youtube videos with empty malls closing all over usa
"Traffic congestion" Is a fancy way of saying "I'm scared of young people moving into my town even if it means more tax revenue and better roads"

Pathetic, human greed has not limit

YOUR PROPERTY TAX IS GOING UP DUE TO THIS!!
More lights
More noise
More things we can't afford
They should ditch construction while they still can.
Believe me it's not what the doctor ordered.
