John - I recently purchase my first ATV, a 2008 Trx500 Rubicon that needed several body parts. I stumbled across Partzilla and have ordered numerous parts. About to order the rear brake cable. Very informative video, thanks for explaining it in an easy to understand format.
That trick you used to pull the cable through is a great idea.
I'm 5 years late. But super great full for these videos ! Also this 350 literally has had everything done to it ! Good for another 15 years easily
Excellent video! I have the exact model, year and color. I picked mine up from the dealer yesterday. They wanted $280 for the cable and new foot pedal. I found both parts on Ebay and Amazon for under $40 bucks... after seeing this video I'll be doing everything myself!!!
i have the same model and the same problem would you mind sending me a link?
Nice tutorial very basic simple repair. Thank you very much!
I’ve done this technique before but not on an ATV, we have 7/8in sand line on my service rig that has to go through the crown at the top of the rig, it’s a good 40-45ft up and to attempt to get around it we fed the new cable through having it taped to the old one and it did work well. You can do a lot with a little bit of black tape
Thanks for the tutorial, John, very helpful!!
Very good video. It helped me a lot .....thanks
Mr. Talley. Does it again👍
Do you have a video of changing the swingarm bearings I'm doing it now and having a hard time with it
How did you get the wheel off using electrical tape? I have to use a lug wrench or impact. Just kidding. Nice video, you give a great step by step explanation. Thanks.
Does that model not have a reverse brake lamp switch? To me it looked like it was missing on the brake handle assembly. Maybe another DIY video?
John, my cable placement looks off on the top cable. The foot cable seems to go in with no effort but the new hand brake cable seems to go in at a steep angle. Is this normal or is the bracket bent that holds the pin and adjuster??
Can you do a video of changing tie rod ends honda 250
How is yours so clean? My cables are covered in dirt
I used to leave the brakes locked on when I had it in the back of my truck now the left hand brake is floppy. And the brakes always seem stuck on squealing so loud I need ear plugs . Do you know what it could be
On my 2013 rancher my rear drum brake the cam to apply brakes was frozen replace the cam and the shoes but after all the cam will not release after applying the brakes
The adjustment screws are not coming loose at all. How do I fix that?
Easy to understand, not a million miles an hour
I wish you guys had a video on how to adjust the rear breaks! I have no rear breaks and that's kinda scary on a hill as if your backing off the hill...
I believe you just turn the little wing nut looking things over the brake drum. That will shorten the gap between the pads and the drum and also make it so your brake lever/foot brake doesn't go all the way down. I have to do some more brake work on my father in laws rancher soon. It's well designed so stuff is simple as possible.
Uh do not use ur rear brakes if ur backing off a hill use or front the rears will flip you backwards 🤦🏻♂️
So my brother has a 2001 350 rancher It’s Canadian model the neutral safety switch light won’t come on or if it does we spend days trying to get it back on can you guy make a movie on how to fix this from start to finish and no the lights not burned out and not a fuse I think it’s that switch we’re the hell
Is it and how do I fix it HELP HELP please!!!
You rock sir thank you
Will these work with a 2004 trx350fe ?
O and can u do a video on valve adjustment for a 2016 foreman 500
We'll add it to the list!
Hello again.... My brake pedal is jammed as well, how can I take it out o lubricate it??
Thank you in advance for the guidance.
Should just be a cotter pin to remove the pedal. Pull the dust seals and clean it all out.
im not the smartest in the tool box but try gas or break cleaner and let it soak under the liquid of the cleaner then take out and start twisting it ??? and repeat ?
Hi There, how tight should the hub nut be?? I do not have the book.... Thank you
47 ftlbs

quick question i have a 2008 honda rancher 420 i plan on getting a new exhaust and i will be putting a silent core in it to add more back pressure will i need to retune it?
It's possible, but not always. Install it and see how it runs, then you can decide if it needs adjustment.
Partzilla it's running rich stocks will the exhaust help or make it worst? It was back firing before I added a new air filter and the spark plug was black
A little popping or backfiring is normal. Typically, if you are running rich, less back pressure would help even it out. If you are adding back pressure to a rich scenario, it will probably need to be tuned.
Partzilla okay thank you!
Will this be almost the same on a 2017 Honda rancher 420?
Off-Road Life 101 no you have to take the front plastic off
you should start doing videos with a 97 or newer 300ex so I can no how to work on it! thanks
We will add it to the suggestion list!
how does the foot lever come off i've purchased one recently and it was seized what would be best to get it off
Once the cotter pin is out, it should slide off. Give it a tug.
Partzilla i tried that and it wouldn't move it seems as if it's rusted / seized on there
You can try some wd40 or liquid wrench to loosen it up.
i've tried pb blaster and when that didn't work we tried heating it with a torch to no avail
Samuel Garris I have the same issue. Any luck?
👍
My cables are fine as well as my pads but my brakes will not work
Have you checked your master cylinder?
Mason Green it’s the rear
