Around 6:44 PM on Tuesday evening 911 dispatchers were alerted to a crash with fire in the city of Irvine. Upon arrival first responders found a red Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat split in half and engulfed in flames.
A witness to the crash stated that the Dodge Hellcat lost control on the wet roads, spun out, and ultimately crashed head-on into a tree. The witness said the driver was able to exit the vehicle and was later transported to a nearby trauma facility for further evaluation.
The crash is currently under investigation by the Irvine Police Department.

Most people cannot handle the speed of the Hellcat Chargers anymore than the police could handle the Mustangs years ago. The average person should stay away from these 'speed cars'. You are not on a TV show or movie. This is real life. The power behind these engines coupled with the lightweight material is a recipe for catastrophe.

My boyfriend has a challenger, doesn't drive fast ever, sometimes too slow lol, but that's perfectly fine with me cause I'd rather have a living boyfriend than one dead or with his car totaled as a result for being reckless and or just plain stupid. Hopefully they are recovering and if they were at fault from being wreckless, they look at this car and become grateful and responsible from here on out. My husband has that car but instead of the Hellcat 6.2L supercharged turbo he has the SRT 6.4 L engine. I have driven it and it gets away from me every time. I can not imagine driving something with almost 300 more horsepower. And the Demon is even more powerful than the Hellcat. It is insane. My husband drives like an old fart and barely even drives it. Its almost a year old and he has put 800 miles on it. They should not sell these cars to young people because the temptation to drive fast is too much for them and they think they are immortal. My sons were given mini vans to drive until they were almost 25. Daughter got a Charger but its a 6 cylinder and of course she crashed it. The boys somehow never crashed their mini vans. I guess the testosterone is kept in check when you are driving a lunch box on wheels.

“SRT” stands for “Street AND Racing Technology”, NOT “Street Racing Technology”!!! I just wanted to clear that up because I heard you mention, in the video, that the “SRT” stood for “Street Racing Technology” which would imply that these cars are built and bought specifically for “STREET RACING” and that couldn’t be further from the truth. No hard feelings or hate here!!! Like I said, I just wanted to clear that up for those that may have heard you say that and possibly took it the wrong way and start thinking that Dodge is condoning “street racing” with their cars, which they are not. Great videos by the way!!!

I live in the townhome just over that wall. Slept right through this. Didn't hear or see signs of the aftermath. Gosh that looks horrible. We're there survivors

Yet another SRT split in half...hmmm the horsepower does not equate for the design of this car. This is a regular passenger car that should NOT have that much horsepower. Also most crashes involving these cars always catch on fire.

This is the first day we got a lot of rain in OC. First day of rain is always really dangerous because the oil in the asphalt makes the roads super slippery.
