When the Lord God walks out to bat for Heaven's XI (He opens with Sunil Gavaskar; the Don, of course, bats three), it must be a comfort to His mind to know that if the wheels do come off, He's got Warnie to turn it around. One day, I hope to be in the stands to watch it being done once again.

If I was Vettori I would have bowled a ball that would have let him get a single to make his century. As a sign of respect if nothing else.
wrong. warne would rather have walked proudly through life with a test high score of 99 that he earned than have his record score be given to him in such a way. that's not how he played cricket.
What rubbish.
Turns out it was a massive no ball so maybe Vettori was being nice in giving him a free hit but the umpires didn't pick it up.
Murali had many more wickets but.... Always too suspect in his action.
Greatest spinners of all time are no.1 Muttiah Muralitharan and no.2 Shane Warne.
Shane is definitely number one and he didn’t bowl with a bent arm
