I told my friend that there's this Russian wrestler that he's so good, he can walk on his shoulders and my friend thought I was nuts. haha
Lolol
Plot twist - you have no friends
@@georgel3657 🤯
@@georgel3657 No one does
@@00fendifranklin41 you all goods?
Lets also remember this guy is 56 years old now.
Still an absolute unit.
887 wins and 2 losses... MACHINE !!!
That is superhuman
And I think those losses were by 1 point each.
Are you nuts 887 ? He has 26 international gold medals and one silver, there was no 900 fights in there. All other low grade championships (in his village)don’t count
@@vibarva every competitive match counts. low or high level 😘
@@tomastoth3839 Yep and i'll add this how you get experienced.
I didn’t even know that was possible . Such a legend .
I didn't either.
Yeah and the scary thing is he is one of the only heavy weights in wrestling that does that crazy training like lighter weight classes
@@rcangelanddemon8815 we all do the same training brother no matter what weight class. But yes this is Karelin, and no heavyweight moved like him. The greatest of ALL TIME.
@@matthewsmith5374 yeah agreed, what I mean is he moved like a lot of lighter guys but had the strength of a heavyweight even heavyweight isn’t close to what he had
Jiu-jitsu players train this concept regularly, because we have to move around while playing off our back. I'm surprised to see a wrestler do it, since they stay off their backs as much as possible.
Not only is he the GOAT, but he genuinely loves and appreciates the sport at all levels.
It says a lot about him that after losing by a strange rule change, he went to gardners olympic matches 4 years later to support him. No bitterness at all.
@@johnm3907 Because it's not the fault of the sport. Nobody blames boxing itself for the IOC's dogshit judgements.
One can tell he's really connecting with the kids and having fun with them.
@@TheGroundedAviator it's cliche, but they are the future of the sport.
@@420JackG True, he is inspiring them too surpass him.
The crazy thing is how normal that these monsters in the ring or mat are usually harmless goofballs off.
as a 172cm latino, I can tell his left leg has more muscles than my whole body
😂😂😂
He's got some tree trunks on him.
One leg is bigger than any kid there.
His lower leg is almost as big as those kids.
@@Keranuspeaking of tree trunks, one of his methods of training was swimming in a frozen river while carrying a tree trunk on his back
He was 178cm and 78kg when he was 13
It’s like they’re watching a circus bear.
Watching legendary athlete doing absolutely anything is incredible motivation. I wish I was among these kids.
These kids are lucky to learn from this legend
They can also learn from your moustache
@@fitfirst4468 lmao 😂😂
К сожалению он пошел в политику и поднял для этих детей пенсионный возраст на 5 лет😉
everyones looking at the shoulder walk but look at the size of his legs holy
about the size of the kids themselves lol
The leg's are the basis of power in every martial art and combat sport, if you can usually tell when someone is going to have power from the size of their legs!
It's the gluteal region. He's got buns, hun. Before they were for show.
His calves are almost as big as his QUADS
@@AveSicarius Jon Jones has small legs
The Legend...The Emperor👑🇷🇺 of Greco/Roman wrestling...Greetings from Greece....Spasibo Karelin...🙏
When most victorious ones bask in their glory. Here we have Aleksander Karelin interacting and inspiring the next generation ! !
The greatest wrestler of all time
I know a dairy farmer that would beg to differ.
@@AlexBianco100 a dairy farmer that won on a one point technicality (that has since been removed, go figure) who has no other accolades worth mentioning? Weird take.
@@16945pieC'mon man you can't be that hard on Rulon. The fact he even got to compete against Karelin says he's a better wrestler than 99.9% of people.
Cuban it is better
@@16945pie well he did win bronze in the following Olympics. That’s something I would mention if I won one. But obviously Rulon was not better. He was just ever so slightly better that day.
Alexander Karelin = Legend Forever
💪
And he does this after retiring from the sport so many years ago! Absolute Legend!
You’ve definitely made it when serving as the inspiration for a Baki the Grappler character!

up until 10 seconds ago i thought i was one of those people
first thing i thought lol "hmm that doesn't look so hard".
Gonna try it
Edit: tried it, the hardest thing is to keep your balance as you move forward. Best i could do was like 2 "steps" before touching the feet to the floor
Be my luck if I even thought about doing it, my fat self would roll just right and choke.
I think I am one too 😂
@@raptorrogue4227 😂 I wrote this cus I thought the same but i actually tried it. I folded up like a wet slice of bread.
wtf as a gymnast i didn't even know that shit was possible and bam, the over 100kg greco-roman rusky patatuski grizzly legend do this like he's sipping a glass of water LMAO what a man ❤️
He's so freaking dense, his bones are made out of concrete. Like a walking grizzly bear!
Karelian amazing man on and off the mats!!!
This guy was shredded like a stone in his youth
He looks incredibly strong, like Goliath.
The human that makes the bears proud.
You can tell his knees hurt when he stood up. Gosh it sucks getting older...
everybody needs "knees over toes guy" training! start now!
Well... when his knees go out, he can walk on his shoulders
Mine also do, and im 26. Knees and backs were just not designed well when they were making us 🤣
@@eahuso put knees over toes guy through 6 months of aleks training and watch him blow his knees and back out.

If you do proper prehab/rehabilitation you can massively extend the lifecycle of your joints, it's not indefinite, wear and tear always catches up in some way, but maintaining the stabilizing muscles goes a long way, especially when you are on a heavy workout schedule.
The Soviet training systems were well known for being extremely brutal though, which definitely puts heavy stress on the joints, and I honestly can't imagine them doing that much in regards to joint health from what I've seen of these systems, not only Because it has only relatively recently became something people in the athletic community are talking about, but also because the training was largely focused on constantly maximizing output and only the best athletes with the best supplementation could keep up with it.
It's like Bulgarian Olympic weightlifting training, you either keep up or you break, and they train super heavy all the time without doing that much in the way of rehab work.
He is a blessing to those children who are inheriting his great spirit.
i instantly tried this and damn, its soo impressive
Jesus you really get to see how thick he is when he is around people that aren’t Olympic wrestlers as well
Him & Fedor are my favorite bad ass alpha male that i look up while growing up
Imagine walking into a sketchy alley at night and you see that coming at you from the dark

He was a machine. Dominated the mat. Only age slowed him down and not by much.
It's fucking wholesome as hell to see this 6'2, 287lb bear of a man, who was known as the experiment and feared by all, perforn a circus trick for a bunch of young and tiny aspiring wrestlers
I live in one town with this legend
You know you are one of a kind when you have "The Experiment" as a nickname
It's because he was roided af
Yeah , I definitely remember him fighting with Jack Hanma
He's still a beast and still Olympia worthy and ready imo!
Easily.
Lmao prime olympic athlete wilk toss him like a ragdoll lmao! Stop dick riding to much or youll get pregnant😅
I want a video game with this as the main mechanic.
Only time his shoulders touch the mat.
Literally
The Algorithm summoned me...and seeing it was a Karelin video, I was pleased.

He looks absurdly dense
You don't want to know how he got good at that.

Never knew about this. I'll try it
Wow, this feat is incredible, I had no idea he was a famous wrestler
"Famous wrestler" is such an understatement of a century

THE LEGEND GROUN FIGHT.
tHE GUY IS SO STRONG he can walk on his shoulders.....
Honestly guys for everyone's sake. Keep your legs elevated above your heart for at least 5 minutes throughout a week. SO much fluid builds up there. Think about it, are legs point down we rarely even show our feet up at the sky
kids are so cute
That's such a useful skill
Youngsters don’t know how hard we had it back in the day… instead of taking the bus, my father instilled work ethic and patience by forcing me to shoulder-crawl to school every morning…. That's the way i wake up every morning
Wow I must try this, but it looks like you need very strong trapeziuz muscles to do it
makes me happy and proud that disabled people have their place in sports too
These kids are proud they got to witness a goat😭
Next time on training Im gonna try it. Looks easy

I can do that but I’m also not 200+ pounds so that’s still pretty darn impressive
