Excellent video. I'm training for my private pilot's license to eventually do cross country flights between KLZU and KOPF in a 140. Your video inspires me to keep at it. Thanks so much.
This video was a ten , executed perfectly on radio coms, and handling tower communications, music was added in just at the right moments , make more , thanks 5678W
Thank you for making the video this way - I really enjoy all the comms, take off/landings and really just enjoyed the whole trip with you! Keep up the good work!
You make it look easy in the air and on the radio. My son and are are purchasing a piper 140 next week. We are excited to learn to fly together. Looking forward to upcoming videos. Stay safe.
building those hours for commercial? I guess this is a great way to build them up taking dogs around. I'm down here in Kissimmee and plan to buy my own plane this Summer so I can do these trips all over.
i would recommend taking that can of fire extinguisher, the can isnt rated for high temperatures, it could cook off if it gets too hot sitting in the aircraft.
Smooth handling of Bravo. Well done. Really enjoyed your radio technique. Great job. Will fly with you when in South Florida PA28-181 if you’re interested.
Thanks for posting. You have ifr rating or had enough visible holes over that cloud cover to feel comfortable with it? Haven’t gotten enough confidence with my skills to fly on top yet.
Some of the cloud layers were solid but i was able to maintain a ground reference even if it was 30-40 miles away and at my 3 o’clock. For me, i am comfortable and confident enough to go vfr over the top for as long as i need to as long as what’s ahead is forecasting good and i can maintain some sort of ground reference!
How did you wire up those LED lights under your panel? Are they hardwired into your panel lights or are they just plugged into a USB into the cigarette lighter? Great video....looking to purchase my first 140 (second plane though).
Glad you liked the video, There’s more to come! The lights are not hard wired, just an adhesive stip that plugs directly into the cigarette outlet. I believe I got them from the local auto parts store
@@cameronconner551 That's what I think I will do. Just plug in as needed for night flight. I'm getting ready to make my LONGEST cross country ever. Hartford CT to Crestview FL. Plan is for 2 days. May steal some of your prep ideas (tools, etc).
I have posted below, but have to reintegrate….flying above that cloud deck is improper VFR common sense, especially when in coastal terrain and warm weather. Even out in the Midwest , caution needs to be taken. There is No reason to climb to 7500 with MSL of 100 ft! Second….Left hand on the yoke, right hand on the throttle until breaking or retracting flaps. Period! That being said, I can see you fly the aircraft well. I got my ppl in 1970…..these suggestions will help you have as many years as I have had.
Thanks for your comment but we will have to disagree on a few items. I will certainly give you the hand placement during my landing. I know better and should not have done that however, I am not going to be a UA-cam creator that hides my mistakes. We all make them and I actually encourage people to call me out on anything they see, as that will make me a better pilot. Flying above a low level cloud deck for less than 50-100 miles during a long cross country is NOT “improper VFR common sense”… there are probably improper ways of doing it but that was not depicted in this video. Flying over a low cloud layer with flight following at an altitude significantly higher than the tops during the morning time with great weather forecasted all day all while maintaining a ground reference is by no means improper. If you are a pilot and haven’t done this then you probably have never flown early mornings in the south. And this is the one that really gets me…If you think that “there is no reason to climb to 7500 with a MSL of 100ft” then honestly i just believe you are inexperienced as i could come up with about 1,000 reasons why higher is better… to include fuel efficiency, higher tail winds, more altitude during the event of an engine out or emergency, smoother flight due to turbulence….. and I could go on. Once again, I appreciate your comments and I will certainly continue to improve as a pilot as I will never stop learning.
One day I hope one day. I'm looking to get my pilots license. Does anyone know of a reliable safe and affordable aircraft. I'm looking anywhere from 15,000 to 35,000
140 keeps chugging along. one of the best designs ever

Did 100 hrs in the 140 going from Chicago to Altlanta and back. Add lots of detours. Was a lot of fun. Nice video.
Very well done! Thanks for posting. Videos like these really help student pilots. Safe travels!

Great Video. Years Ago I Flew The Cherokee 140 Wonderful Airplane
Man that's a beautiful intro, gorgeous music.
I enjoyed this video every bit as much as I enjoy Aviation 101 content, and I mean that as quite the compliment! Love well made vids from GA pilots

Nice video! Training to get my PPL on a Piper Warrior II. Greetings from Switzerland!
Nice video brings back memories! Makes me want to get a biannual and get back in the air!
Thanks for your content. Just starting my venture.

Nice day of flying! You landed at my home airport KTMB. Safe Flying!
Cool journey. Well documented.

I like it. keep up the good work bud
Nice video! Seen you Saturday afternoon at the Flying Machine.

Cool Video!
Big thumbs up.

Miss my 140. Should have kept it forever.
Nice!
Great video. I fly a Cherokee myself, love it. Curious, how long did the flight take start to finish?
I wonder how long it would take to fly a 140 from Indianapolis In To Ft.Lauderdale Fl
Smooth handling of Bravo. Well done. Really enjoyed your radio technique. Great job. Will fly with you when in South Florida PA28-181 if you’re interested.
Thanks man! I will definitely let you know if im ever down that way and have some free time! Thanks for the invite!

My CFI would have skinned me ALIVE if I even thought about going over cloud cover like the one here without an IFR ticket.
How long it is take to get to Miami ? Just 1 stop ? Enjoy all your videos !
Thanks! And it normally take me right around 5 hours with the one stop in between.
Awesome video. How did u manage to keep ur ipad battery alive for that whole flight?
11:30 battery packs
Did you have a autopilot on the Cherokee 140 or its just well trimmed?

Is that ice on the wing at 07:52?
So do you have autopilot or are you just trimmed out on your heading/altitude?
Unfortunately no auto pilot 👎 All trim!
@@cameronconner551 The OG autopilot. Nice!
Are you a CFI?

Very cool and nice Flight!!from japan. I am KIICHIKO.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it! There is more to come!
what is he max altitude it can fly
A VERY quick google search gave me the answer... 14,300 ft.
Dude, never use both hands on the yoke to touch down! Not good
WTF? Left hand on the yoke, Right hand on the Throttle ALWAYS when landing 🤯. Yikes!
Just a tip: keep your hands on the throttle during the flare.

I highly recommend the Piper Cherokee or maybe a Cessna 150! Flying is one of the most rewarding things! Good luck with your training!
Good luck...
.....rather a strange question.....do the work!
We didnt get to see the puppy being deliverd?....Great video thanks for sharing.
