  • Adjustable shocks are great, especially the dual speed variety, allowing you to fine tune your ride depending on the terrain and your individual driving style... BUT you've got to get out of your vehicle and dive into the wheel wells to twist some knobs if you're lucky or worst case you've got to turn some wrenches - not always an easy task in the scorching sun, next to a hot engine, or in the mud.
    And what if your terrain varies wildly? How often are you realistically going to jump out and take advantage of that? Let's be fair, even with adjustable shocks a lot of people are gonna set it and forget it.
    But what if your suspension actively adjusted your shock behavior for you? And what if that happens 500 times per second? Enter: Suspension Direct's Universal Electronic Reservoirs! What's even cooler? These dynamically valved reservoirs can be retrofit to just about any external reservoir shocks... so if you've already been running a upgraded setup and still want to take it to the next level SDI has your back.
    What all does this take? We've cut together a video to show you the entire install process from start to finish. If you're due for a rebuild of your shocks anyway you're in the perfect position to spring for the upgrade.
    This RAM equipped with Fox 2.5s got the E-Clik treatment and is now experiencing all that performance and then some with luxury on top.
    If you're considering this upgrade for your own rig be sure to continue your SDI research with our other articles:

    Do you revalve the shocks when doing the sdi eclick system?

    • @ShockSurplus
      @ShockSurplus  5 місяців тому +2

      It really depends on application and the end user as most of the time there is no need, but really the best way to find out if you really need to have them revalved or how you would want to revalve them is to install the reservoirs on your shocks as is and test them. Obviously if the valving is unquestionably wrong to begin with that is another story, but in the case of most vehicle specific shocks like the Fox 2.5s on this Ram, the first step is usually to run the reservoir kit as is first and test to see what changes need to be made if any

    What do you guys think would be a good upgrade from a 2020 tundra trd pro suspension? Im getting to the point where i want to run 35s and not really feeling the coachbuilder route just to keep fox suspension.

      The stock TRD Pro Fox shocks are already a position sensitive (internal bypass) design so we definitely recommend something with an electronic control upgrade like these Fox or even a King 2.5swith the SDI E Clik reservoirs, or an Icon CDEV, or something position sensitive like a Bilstein 8112 if you like to really push it off road or an OME BP51 if you like a little cushier ride. The 8112 coilovers and 8100 bypass shocks probably ended up being our favorite thing we have tested on a Tundra so far. Rumor has it, they should be adding the DSA+ adjusters to those front coilovers in the next year or so too.

      @@ShockSurplus when are you getting the rear 8112 also?

    Are you able to buy a complete SDI front shock set and the universal
    reservoirs for the rear?

    • @ShockSurplus
      @ShockSurplus  5 місяців тому +1

      They only make shocks for JK and JL Wranglers, JT GLadiators, 2005-2023 Tacomas, and 17+ Super Duties, but if you have one of those applications it should technically be possible to buy a set of their front shocks and then run their universal reservoirs on a set of remote reservoir rear shocks you already have. Just might have to play with the harnesses a bit.

      @@ShockSurplus i have a 22 Tacoma with 6112/5125s. Eventually I want to upgrade to the eclick but i also wanted to upgrade to 12” shocks with archive shock relocation and the rear eclick shocks aren’t that long
