Did a Fix 2.0 2” level up front on my new 2023 F150 from the stock rear shocks with Fox 2.0’s smooth bodies and noticed softer ride. Took the 2.0 rear shocks off (keeping them as backup) and I installed the rear Elite Performance DSC’s shocks and what an amazing ride quality. Absolutely LOVE FOX ELITE PERFORMANCE DSC’s!
Absolutely, a completely different riding truck. I’d see people consistently saying that their new performance shock upgrades were better riding than stock (hard to beat) and being I’ve tried everything I’d have to say that it’s almost robotic like to where the suspension actually has a brain of itself and completely controls everything from swaying side to side, bounce and especially noticed it all this weekend hog hunting trip where a buddy of mine rode in the vehicle with me and just after at least a 1/4 mile then stopping at stop sign turned to me and said how does your truck ride so smooth? I’ve had everything installed through the years, even Kings before and the Fox Elite Performance shocks blow them all away. Thanks and God Bless
Looking to upgrade on 2001 F350 4X4 SD shocks. Truck has air bags on rear and will be used to haul a Lance camper or maybe a 5th wheel. Truck lives in southern Baja and sees some off road work to hit the remote beaches to camp. 90% of the time it sees what we have on the highway but that can have holes deep enough to swallow the corners of the front end....no freeways here!
I have a 2020 JT with a 3” lift kit from Rock Krawler but have since replaced all the control arms with Teraflex arms due to the Rock Krawler arms defective bushings which caused the dreaded “Death Wobble” at 70 mph. I also now have 315/70/17 KO2’s running at 34 psi. I used Fox 3.0 elite remotes in the front for my shock choice when I first did the lift. That was 50,000 miles ago. Now with the new control arms and heavier tires I notice a “dribbling basketball” effect on the front end hitting small/medium bumps in highway driving at 55 mph. I’ve adjusted both speed knobs Slow and Fast on the DSC’s to their extremes and hit the same bumps with no improvement which verifies they need to be rebuilt. I see that the shocks are recommended to be serviced at 50K miles but I need my daily driver and can’t afford the downtime. Will the Fox 2.0’s for a 2-3” lift be a good choice as a replacement short and long term?
The Fox 2.0s are not going to be remotely close on comfort, control, or overall performance, but they would be a great interim shock while you get your 3.0s serviced.
I have a 2012 F350 Lariat 6.2 gas. C.C. LB. 4X4 I was wondering how can I tell if truck is Lifted? Seems to be at least leveled and has Hellwig Leaf in back. Has I believe KYB shocks. I am not intending to go mad max but do go off road. Looking for good ride on off road and towing...mid range price and ability to smooth out the rough road and still be able to tow heavy.
If you measure the shocks at ride height on leveled surface, that puts the compression roughly around 40% give or take. You can then plug that measurement into shocks that are offered and ensure you're getting as close to equal travel to both compressed and extended. You can aim for having a little more travel compressed over more extended if needed as well.
Need help between adjustable Kings (resi's) and the Fox DSC's (oem type replacement) . I have a new 2021 F150 FX4. I hit the occasional Johnson Valley, Pismo type trips. Not a rock crawling type guy, love the higher speed stuff and I also tow. Hopefully that's enough info to provide some good insight. About to pull the trigger on Camburg UCA's, wheels and 35s however the suspension between these two have me stumped. Appreciate your vids, keep them coming.
Both options are going work great for that high speed running that you love to do. King offers low speed compression and rebound adjustment while Fox 2.5 offers low and high speed compression adjustment. Unfortunately neither companies have released parts for the 21+ Ford F150. Currently we get Bilstein and Icon for the new 21+ F150.
The aftermarket Fox 2.5s have more travel and offer dual speed compression adjustment but they are not an internal bypass like the factory TRD Pro stuff. The piston is larger so they may be able to be more supportive over bigger hits, but they may not be quite as plush as the stock stuff since you lose position sensitivity. If you are looking for an upgrade over the TRD Pro parts I would lean towards options like the Bilstein 8112s and 8100s, OME BP51s, Fox or King 3.0 IBPs, or other position sensitive options.
I have a gen 2 nissan frontier in buffalo ny, mabey get off road 1 or 2 times a month, I found a new fox 2.0 suspension for 900 or a bilstein 5100 setup for 600, given that info and considering our harsh winters what do you think?
Both are great options. Bilstein would be better for daily driving, towing/hauling, and entry level off-roading while Fox 2.0 are more geared for off-roading. They both may feel a tad bit firmer than stock just due to how they designed but overall those two models quite popular in the community.
Email us at support@shocksurplus.com so we can get some more details; pics of the suspension now specifically. If the lift kit changed the shocks mounts, we can find a fox option
I have a 2022 tremor and I’m looking to put Fox on my truck. I got a 2 inch lift and I think I want the coil fox’s do they make them with Reservoir and which ones would you suggest?
Which shock do you recommend for my F350 it’s a 2006 4 x 4 mostly highway used but also pull and 11,000 pounds fifth wheel three or four times a year. Thank you in advance Peter.
I have a 2006 ram 2500. I do a lot of highway and city driving but everyday I am offroad at landfills because I haul trash. The landfills aren’t too demanding but the potholes and bumps at the landfills kill me. I need something that still drives nice but will soak up small bumps and potholes better than stock.
A Fox 2.0 would definitely be more than enough for your needs, however if you are loading it down fairly heavy, it may be a good idea to go for something like an Eibach or Bilstein
The factory Mohave shocks are a 2.5" body internal bypass making them position sensitive so they are a touch more plush than the 2.5s, but since they have to run a smaller piston to fit the internal bypass sleeve you can set the 2.5 PES shocks to be a little more supportive due to their full size piston. The 3.0s use the same piston as the 2.5 PES but are an internal bypass design like the stock Mohave shocks, so they can not only be more plush but also far more supportive. Both the 2.5 and 3.0 aftermarket shocks also have dual speed compression adjusters, so they can both be set up to handle better than the stock parts. Neither the 2.5 PES or 3.0 FRS are available at stock height, nor should the stock Mohave shocks be paired with any lift without a shock extender, so it is a little hard to compare since to run the 2.5 or 3.0 aftermarket stuff you would need a lift.
You don't really need much. Looking Bilstein 5100 or Eibach Pro Truck, those would suit your best. If you want to cover more off-roading, then Fox 2.0 or any 2.5 series. Note, we would also delete the air bag and go coil spring.
Need guidance on adjusting the fox 2.5 DSC while i do dune bashing and when i am using the truck as a daily driver. I drive a RAM REBEL 2021 V8 in Dubai, UAE.
A lot of it is going to have to be subject to your preferences, so we can not tell you exactly where to set them, but generally you want to back off high speed compression and stiffen low speed compression the street for more comfort and better handling, and go the opposite directions on both knobs off road to give you more big bump support from the extra high speed compression and more traction from the softer low speed compression
I have a 1979 Ford Bronco 4wd and I looking to get a 2” suspension lift on it. I would like to know which fox 2.0 shock I would need to get? The specific shock that would fit? Thank you
hitup support@shocksurplus.com - we would just need to confirm the extended lengths and compressed lengths of your vehicle with that 2in lift, or if you need the 2in lift itself, we'll get you a 2.0 universal fit for your Bronco
I have a 2022 tremor and I’m looking to put Fox on my truck. I got a 2 inch lift and I think I want the coil fox’s do they make them with Reservoir and which ones would you suggest? I live in Ontario could you help me out?
If I buy a 3.5 inch lift kit with nonfox shocks on the kit, can I later down the road switch out the shocks for fox shocks?? Thanks for reading my comment :)
I have a 2024 rebel with bilstein performance tuned shocks. I'm going to buy the fox 2.5 to level my truck and possibly add 35s. My question is will my old bilstein from the rebel fit my 2019 ram 1500 Laramie 4x4?
I just installed the fox 2.5 adjustable shocks, however the high speed compression knob wont turn on either of the four shocks and struts. Do i need to lube it or any suggestions?
They are very different beasts, so it will be hard to get them identical, but a set of Fox 3.0s with a good set of springs and arms will get you about as close as you can get to a Raptor without having to cut the whole Jeep apart
The 2022 TRD Pro comes with a Fox 2.5 internal bypass coilover and shock but don't offer anything else such as DSC, or further height accommodation. The closest thing to match that is ARB/OME BP51 which have an internal bypass, external reservoir, low speed compression and rebound adjustment. If you went with the aftermarket Fox 2.5, you would lose the internal bypass but get the DSC adjustment and more lift out out of coilover.
I am looking to do a carli 4.5 lift on my 2019 f350 and want to go with Fox 3.0 shocks for a comfortable daily with the ability to obsorb rough service roads. Does Fox make a 3.0 for heavy trucks and the correct length I would need. Please let me know, and a part# would be appreciated 👍
Unfortunately, they don't offer a 3.0 kit. Our boss runs their Dominator kit on his 2021 Ram 2500 Powerwagon with King 3.0 but those were custom 3.0 from Carli directly. We can definitely get a custom set ordered for you but we would need to know all the details of what you need from shock lengths, shock travel, Hose Length, Reservoir Length and etc. Lead time is 5-7 months.
have a 2020 Tundra and trying to decide between fox 2.5 dcs or bilstein 6112/5160 combo. what would the on road ride quality i should expect between the two?
The Fox are going to handle the high speed stuff better, that's what they're built for. The Fox factory series on the 2020 Tundra are noticeably firmer than the Bilstein 6112 around town and on the trail. The Bilstein isn't going to require maintenance like the Fox will either.
I have a 2022 Ford F-150 and would like the 2.0 coil over with 2" leveling up front. What do you recommend and what would a pair cost me. I'm open to suggestions. Thank you!
Fox does offer 2.0 front Coilovers and rear shocks. Just to note, the Coilover does not fit the Hybrid or Tremor trims. I want to lift my rubicon 4-door 2021. What suspension do you recommend to put some 37 tires? I want it to look bigger and at the same time comfortable for highway driving; not to become unstable
Hello..I have a 2022 Chevrolet LT 5.3L trail boss looking to level it & replace struts & shocks what would be your recommendation .i was looking at fox
If you're using the vehicle for daily and towing, look at Bilstein 5100 or 6112. If you're using the vehicle daily and off-roading, look at the Fox 2.0 or 2.5. Bilstein has specific parts for the Trail Boss/AT4. Fox share the same parts as the non-Trail Boss/AT4 but nets less lift for Trail Boss and AT4 trims.
I don’t know nothing about fox shocks but I been using them since I started riding motorcycles with fox shocks and I never changed the brand on anything and only use fox for my trucks and motorcycles 😂
It’s me again I’m not too sure if anyone got back to me about the fox elite I live in Ontario and I drive a tremor 2022 and I wanna upgrade the suspension. I have a 2 inch levelling kit on the truck right now. I just want that suspension and will be shots raise it higher if that’s the case it’s OK. I just want to get my hands out of here and get them on my truck so if someone can get a hold of me, I will buy them. I want the coil overs. I think it’s a five 3.5 coil over.
You should mention that Fox are progressive and Falcon are digressive shocks. Might do a video about what that means and how the differences affect performance.
I have a 2000 ram 2500 with a cap and rack like your power wagon and am looking for a shock upgrade. Can i get the bigger 2.5 with adjustable resevoir? Im looking for top stem mount. I have heavy springs and run alot of whoops and washboard stuff from sxs's. Any other brands to consider you offer? Im hesitant 2.0 may not be big enough
If you want the invest, the 2.5 will help out in your scenario a lot more than a 2.0 would. www.shocksurplus.com/products/fox-2-5-factory-series-shocks-w-dsc-reservoir-set-for-1994-2013-ram-2500-4wd?variant=32323208675377
A good starting point are Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 or Bilstein 6112 and 5100. If you want is invest more heavy or be more capable then we can look into more performance oriented. Please contact our sales team directly to get further assistance.
I have a 2020 ram rebel with falcons at the level setting. Like you said, the truck feels sporty on the road. Not much body roll, no nose dive or feels good but the small bumb sensitivity it’s not existing. I’ll like to have a suspension that has another ride on the street. I don’t do much off road probably 95% daily driving and 5% on off road. Will the fox , kings better for my application?
Really depends on what you want out of the shocks. Both King 2.5 and Fox are great options. King would feel better for daily and still capable while Fox 2.5 are noticeable for being responsive on the street but much more capable on off-roading.

They sold me best shock I have ever had on a truck. My 04 3500 sure likes them, the ride is great.
That is great to hear!
Good job.
Thank you! Cheers!
How are the fox 2.0 when having a trailer hooked up? They squat real bad in the rear? 2010 Tahoe LT non air for reference
They aren't the greatest for towing or hauling but can be used for it. Bilstein 5100 is better for towing.

Put Fox 2.0 in front w/ res on rear on 2018 4RUNNER. Thinking about putting 285/70/17 KO2's will the Fox 2.0 give enough clearance?
Depends on you wheel specs as well as if you have a more aggressive negative or positive offset, it would change the geometry.
Which shock do you recommend for my F350 it’s a 2006 4 x 4 mostly highway used but also pull and 11,000 pounds fifth wheel three or four times a year. Thank you in advance Peter.

Are front and rear shocks the same apart from the mounts ?
in terms of same'ness the damping curve will be the same/similar. But fronts have a different valving stack compared to rear on almost every vehicle.
How do the factory Mohave Fox shocks compare with a 2.5 or a 3.0 Fox set?
The factory Mohave shocks are a 2.5" body internal bypass making them position sensitive so they are a touch more plush than the 2.5s, but since they have to run a smaller piston to fit the internal bypass sleeve you can set the 2.5 PES shocks to be a little more supportive due to their full size piston. glad we could help!
If I buy a 3.5 inch lift kit with nonfox shocks on the kit, can I later down the road switch out the shocks for fox shocks?? Thanks for reading my comment :)
You sure can, Fox makes shocks for many lifted applications
Top 3 shocks Entry level to run with OEM rubicon JLU springs?
Bilstein 5100, Eibach 2.0, Fox 2.0
What shocks do as good but go better mileage is the foxs the same length for they sahara as the Rubicon jl wrangler 4xe
There are fox 2.0 and 2.5 for that JL at factory ride height, there are 3.0s if you have a 3” lift
I have a 2024 rebel with bilstein performance tuned shocks. I'm going to buy the fox 2.5 to level my truck and possibly add 35s. My question is will my old bilstein from the rebel fit my 2019 ram 1500 Laramie 4x4?
Yup as long as the 2019 is a DT or new body style truck and not a Classic or DS model they should work.
I just installed the fox 2.5 adjustable shocks, however the high speed compression knob wont turn on either of the four shocks and struts. Do i need to lube it or any suggestions?
happening on all 4? weird! if you purchased from us, contact us! 213-433-3616
So I ran the 2.0 kit on my JLUR and JT is it safe to say the 2.0 coil overs for my Ranger ride and perform about the same? Thanks in advance
They definitely perform well. We tested Fox 2.0 on a 2019 Ranger that we have.
Had a raptor. Now I have a gladiator. How do I get the ride I had on my f-150 on my jeep?
They are very different beasts, so it will be hard to get them identical, but a set of Fox 3.0s with a good set of springs and arms will get you about as close as you can get to a Raptor without having to cut the whole Jeep apart
stabilizers make a difference, especially with monster tires. It FEELS better in the steering wheel. That may be it.
What would be a good upgrade over the Fox shocks I have on my 2022 4Runner TRD Pro? For added lift and adjustable ride/nose dive reduction. Thx

Fox 2.0 is a good choice
Hello..I have a 2022 Chevrolet LT 5.3L trail boss looking to level it & replace struts & shocks what would be your recommendation .i was looking at fox
If you're using the vehicle for daily and towing, look at Bilstein 5100 or 6112. If you're using the vehicle daily and off-roading, look at the Fox 2.0 or 2.5. Bilstein has specific parts for the Trail Boss/AT4. Fox share the same parts as the non-Trail Boss/AT4 but nets less lift for Trail Boss and AT4 trims.

I just want to get my hands out of here and get them on my truck so if someone can get a hold of me, I will buy them. I want the coil overs. I think it’s a five 3.5 coil over.
Hi Chris, please text us 213-433-3616 for immediate help, or email support@shocksurplus.com
You should mention that Fox are progressive and Falcon are digressive shocks. Might do a video about what that means and how the differences affect performance.
Fox are linear
I have a 2000 ram 2500 with a cap and rack like your power wagon and am looking for a shock upgrade. Can i get the bigger 2.5 with adjustable resevoir? Im looking for top stem mount. I have heavy springs and run alot of whoops and washboard stuff from sxs's. Any other brands to consider you offer? Im hesitant 2.0 may not be big enough
5" lift any help is appreciated
If you want the invest, the 2.5 will help out in your scenario a lot more than a 2.0 would.

Great Video 👌🏽! Also shock Recommendation for 2018 tundra platinum?
Just depends on what you want to do, what your budget is, what kind of driving you are using this rig for.
For Occasional off road sir
A good starting point are Eibach Pro Truck Stage 2 or Bilstein 6112 and 5100. If you want is invest more heavy or be more capable then we can look into more performance oriented. Please contact our sales team directly to get further assistance.
Total chaos or ICON upper control arms plus fox , king orb icons 3”
21 Mojave, front Fox shocks being replaced under warranty. Terrible squeaking. Very disappointed.
We are truly sorry to hear that. Fox will take care of you.
