Can you beat STALKER Anomaly as a cult leader?

- Wavey sets out to see, is it possible to beat STALKER Anomaly with nothing more than companions and NPCs.
Idea is simple, no guns, no knife, no grenades, no nothing. Just me, my companions, and anybody else I happen to run across.
Since this is sorta role-play, we did attribute one rule to our run:
- In order to recruit someone, we have to be able to talk to them, trade with them, and we have to donate them something important
Once we fulfill the requirements, they are ours forever.

I still see ppl cringing over Monolith when it's literally the most op faction in the game. Not to say the best faction which has a better oportunity to loot better gear early in game.
I really like the _idea_ of having companions in a Stalker game, but for whatever reason, the AI in Anomaly seems to take a total dump once you have them following you. The normal AI still holds up pretty well, with flushing you out with grenades, flanking, sneaking up on you. But when they turn into companions? Just awful. At least in my runs.
What rank are their on?
Idk why it seems that way, but I 100% agree.
Somehow being a companion reduces them to puddles of garbage that only kill by mere chance.

i quick save before some bop ups and companions refresh amnd follow orders
One of my squadmates on a UNISG playthrough literally killed himself because he didn't have an upgrade kit. This game is beautifully stupid.
As in, he literally shot himself in the head.
I'm laughing thinking about someone walking around in real life and shining a bright-ass flashlight directly into people's eyes while talking to them
And holding a knife lol

Crackheads and Police both do that, maybe not a knife for the latter but a night stick or gun

Next you should try to beat Anomaly with a PM in every slot. I would suggest using the pistols in binocular slot mod to give an extra 8 shots before you're screwed

Just recently discovered your channel and love the content, Anomaly is such an amazing game and is very enjoying to watch!
Nice challenge, stalker ai works in misterious ways so it always makes me cringe when I see 2 different stalker squads fight it off against each other. The thing that I noticed in my playthrough is that my squad consisting of 2 master stalkers and 1 legendary stalker pretty much does all the work in open terrain, even against pesky snorks and pseudo giants but when it comes to small spaces they shit themselves.... Oh well, such is the life in the zone 😂

not being able to use Fast Travel isn't a big deal
the only thing i see wrong was the choice of not shooting
knowing that the XRAY AI it's braindead even with mods
A hypothetical situation that has always bugged me is, what if a modder of one of the mods added a rare enemy spawn in a spot it shouldnt be that isnt related to the mod at all. Or making a obscure hostile npc an immortal demigod.

yeah, npcs suck at taking out most of the mutants, but I see it as a win overall, because I'd rather the npcs not kill of the mutants as quickly as they spawn. It sucks when playing with a team of npcs tho for sure lol

You should do this with Gamma, since you have Anomaly already. Gamma’s a massive Modpack for Anomaly. I’ve been having a blast playing it.

Hey wave, would you mind if I ask you which recording software you use for your videos and what is your bitrate. I get blurry outputs while recording. Idk why.
Yeaaaah i have the same problems with Anomaly, it’s impossible to get perfect
I use Radeon’s built-in capture software, I know Nvidia has an equivalent
I use HEVC file format, and 35MBPS for bitrate
I have been experimenting with rendering, but I rendered this in HEVC at 24MBPS
Try nero video, their encoder has a sharpen function that works wonders for stuff I encode.

Small glitch that I noticed when doing the special gauss rifle quest. You can still ‘turn it in’ if it’s not in your inventory, essentially duping the weapon. Rogue gets one and you have the one you stashed. Weird but very useful

If you hit the ~ key to open the console, type “demo_record 1”, then the Enter key
Hit the enter key again to teleport to the position of the camera, hit Esc to go back to your original position

Haven’t played Warfare much, how the hell do you get so many people from both your own and neighboring faction to join you? How much of it is merit of the mod? I keep getting confused in the buttons.
In Warfare, you can RightMouseClick on one of the squad symbols on the map, and hit ‘Select Squad’
From there, you can direct them to attack territories, or follow you (more RMC actions)
It only works with your faction however, when I grabbed the mercs that was something else ;)
As far as the numbers, I don’t recall Warfare mode having a limit to the people you can have following you. I tested this early on, and had easily over 50 people with me.

Wait, that's how you recruit people in STALKER ANOMALY? I thought there's only a percentage chance of you getting a companion, but no! You only have to give them some good 'ol "water" to join you!
Lol, the way it officially works is based upon both ‘Reputation’ as well as ‘Rank’.
But with Warfare mode you can make anybody a companion

I do a full stealth character with all silent weapons and a Ghillie suit. I can pretty much control the fight about 95% of the time.

Technically yes
The modpack I have doesn’t change much as far as gameplay goes
But doing this without debug mode is effectively not possible

Yup, the Debug Mode. Enable it in the launcher, then press 'F7' in-game.
If you need more details, I do have a video going through most of the features.
