Jason - I'm on Chapter 32 (Tail cone attach) and I still watch your RV-10 videos! They are invaluable. Thanks for the update. You 'endeared' yourself to us so we still love to hear what you are up to! All the best.

Great to See you back. Wife and I are 6 years into an RV-7 build thanks to you. Still going strong and hope to fly in another 1-2 years. Flying and maintaining 2 aircraft while building has put on the slooooow track. We're up in MD. Maybe need to make a trip to KEWN in the future ;)

Some builders (and others) choose where to go work on any given day based on who yells at them the loudest...
    Thanks for the update!

Hey I hear you. I am a police officer who is off with hip injuries currently. I too own my own plane a Cessna 172B which I can no longer fly due to injuries from my policing career and lost my medical. Plane is up for sale. I’ve had a boat which I sold to get the plane many years ago, and now I am considering a live aboard boat and moving back to my home Province of Newfoundland, Canada. My parents are separating and like you offered to have my father live with me and my family. I love motorcycles and have a few, a 2009 Hayabusa being my prized bike.
I have six years left to retirement unless I take an early pension.
Keep on going, keep doing what makes you happy! Look forward to any of your videos.

... you're not going to want to hear this... Stick it out. Get that pension. You earned it!

The house thing is probably a case of the squeaky wheel getting greased. You need to be more squeaky! 😎

Interesting started my RANS S-21 build when you were nearing the end of yours … in the summer of 2020. I was estimating 4 years to build and that passed a few months ago. Thankfully, I have the structure basically done, most interior stuff done, engine and prop mounted, fuel system mostly done, instrument panel done and am now working on wiring. I am doing it all myself, so it likely will take me all winter. However, I am hoping to be flying before the end of 2025.
I built my log house in 2000 and that took 8 months which I thought was a long time. However, a friend moved to Tennessee in 2020 (bad timing) and started building a house and just moved in a few months ago. What an ordeal. He couldn’t find contractors and when he did they mostly did crappy work requiring tons of rework.
I also enjoy riding and rolled over 107,000 miles on my K1200LT this past May on a trip from PA to CA and back. Thankfully, my wife likes to fly and likes to ride with me so I don’t have the disconnect you had with your wife on the airplane build. My wife has worked on the plane probably at least 70% of the time and that is a big part of what keeps the project moving forward.
Best of luck with your boat acquisition and project. Should be fun.

My wife wont ride with me any more... She got her own bike ;p (She got tired of sitting on the back.).

I flew USAir for the early part of my career until they left Pittsburgh for Philly. They were pretty good in Pittsburgh, but dismal in Philly. Nothing good ever happens when you fly through Philly. The last half of my career was mainly on Delta as they were the only carrier serving my local airport when USAirways finally pulled out. I’ve had mostly good experience on Delta. I quit flying when the covid mask nonsense hit in 2020 and just started driving to all conferences in the eastern half of the US and just stopped attending those on the West Coast. I finally made my first airline flight in 4 years early this year and it went very well on Delta. However, I have kept driving to conferences that are within about 1,000 miles and will be leaving soon for one in Florida from PA. I just loath airline flying these days with the security nonsense, the crowded flights with ridiculous seat widths and pitch, and the unreliable schedules. It is so different from when I began airline flying heavily in the early 80s. It was fun back then. Deregulation removed much of the fun and then 9/11 removed the rest of the fun. And Covid made it simply intolerable. I can’t wait to get my plane done so I can fly to conferences again.

yeah I can't tolerate commercial airlines any more. It starts with the airline being crap at booking, lying about flights, overbooking flights, making unrealistic demands, being late causing missed connections, or just outright cancelling flights. Don't even get me started on the complete waste of time that is the TSA and their power trippy stupidity... I'm just kinda done with airlines.
The only reason I flew this last time is because from the southern east coast to seattle is a bit of a hoof in a car. It's like 50 hours.. Which might be fun in an RV where you can take days to do it, but then what do you do with the RV once there? No thanks.
