Questionable decision by Armani... Discontinuing the Code line and discontinuing one of the best designer fragrances ever made (Acqua di Gio Profumo)...
Think of the sales if they re-release them. I dunno how old you are, but back in the day, Disney would eventually stop selling VHS/DVDs of a given movie and put it in the, "Disney vault". Eventually when demand went up again they would sell like hotcakes

Profumo = Italian character, knows what he's doing. Can fix his car or climb a mountain. Parfum= French Parisian always afraid to break a longer than normal pinky nail. Looks himself in the mirror 20x day.
Goodbye profumo ? Nowhere near. This parfum version is not that far from edp. And edp is just slightly better than adg edt. Profumo is still the best version by far.
I was so disappointed with Parfum, when it was touted as a replacement for Profumo. Nope. It doesn't smell quite the same, nor is it an upgrade. No excitement. Just felt soulless.
Parfum is neutered. People who love it never really appreciated Profumo. Profumo is a contrast of freshness and darkness. Parfum has lost most of the darkness and is now just a basic, average freshie. I personally hate Profondo as well so there is nothing left in this line for me. Since they are charging niche prices now I'll just find something niche to replace it.
The more you listen and pay attention to all details you realize at the end of the day, in the mainstream, there is not much between them (Profumo vs Parfum) Profumo is legendary. ADG is iconic. Profundo works well in the spring and summer in particular during the day. Profumo can be taken into the autumn and winter (milder days) as well, and during the evenings all across the board.
The new ADG atomizers with the non magnetic cap are just terrible. I have yet to get one that didn’t feel broken, squeak, or leak. ADG needs to stop cheaping out and take notes from Dior on atomizers.
Parfum is better than EDT and EDP, but I love the heavy incense note in Profumo. Maybe I'm the only one, but I think the Parfum is closer to a simplified Essenza than it is to Profumo. Grabbed my 125ml of Profumo for about $100, glad I did it when I did. At the price of Parfum, I'd just grab another niche fragrance or some clones instead.
Was able to get myself a 125ml bottle of Profumo for about 100 Euros before they really started going off the market. This new parfum is selling for 160, so if you like the scent and manage to find yourself a cheaper bottle of Profumo, don't hesitate!
Tested the Parfum at Sephora. It is drastically worse than Profumo. It isn't a replacement or even in the same Universe. I'll have to stock up on Profumo. Every reviewer hyping the Parfum is full of it. It's a terrible replacement.
They removed the incense and that’s basically the only difference between Profumo and this one, but it’s a BIG difference. Terrible move on their part. I won’t be purchasing the new one. Profumo was perfect. I’m getting extremely tired of finding a signature scent and then it’s discontinued with a few years, and they’re getting notorious with this. It’s a joke.
I’m gonna be honest the only difference is in the opening, the dry down is almost identical, in a blind smell test almost impossible to discern. Save your money guys and just the parfum, let profumo die off and don’t give your money to people benefiting from FOMO anxiety.
The Profumo is also a parfum concentration. So nothing really new with the Parfum. Slightly differences (a few notes) in the scent, but for most part, the same. The NEW Parfum is smoother, a little bit better blended. Right now too expensive fot what it is.
The CVS near my office has a huge fragrance section. It’s behind the counter so hard to tell what they have but I noticed they had a huge Profumo stock. $89 for 2.5… not a bad price. I was patient and waited for coupons they send on the app weekly. One by one I got 9 bottles ! Didn’t pay more than $45 for any 😂. Yesterday got the last bottle , a candy bar and a bag of chips for $43 bucks !!
I think the new parfum is awesome. I also love profumo but I'm fine with the new one. I also think the new one and profumo smell so close alike. I don't understand why people wouldn't like it. Read the notes on both of click on it same notes they just turned down the incense

I love the incense note in Profumo, it’s my favorite part of the fragrance. Sad that it’s toned down here. I’ll check it out but I don’t have high hopes. Great video Ash! 🤘
Got a sample of AdG Parfum. I am not blown away and I didn't expect to be. I love Profondo and especially the aquatic notes in it. Makes it really special. To me it feels like that's been a bit toned down and there's something in there that reminds me of Tom Ford's Costa Azurra. Bit of the driftwood perhaps? Sometimes I'm in the mood for it, but the mood wears off. I don't know, got Loewe's 7 Cobalt ahead of it on my list.
The aquatic notes are what drew me to this over 20 years ago. It was just so unique in my cologne journey. And, to find something that is a bit of original, and profundo...it's a winner. Waiting on my bottle as I type this
All refillable fragrance bottles will have problems of leaking and most important EVAPORATION; these bottles are not airtight because the atomizer is not crimped on. Imaging spending hundrends on a fragrance that will just evaporates completely in 1/2 years max. It is the same thing as the little samples atomizer that will just let everything evaporate and leave thing completely bone dry. People who have a big collection of both designer and niche NEED to be AWARE of this.

Yes all refillable bottle will evaporate from the bottle, it is a shame, the trend need to stop as soon as possible, i hope people will realize this before it’s too late

I wonder if atomizer manufacturers just cheaped out on the ball-and-spring mechanism recently to keep from raising prices? 🤔 Some of the older refillable bottles from Azzaro and even Zara work perfectly fine.
For a parfum concentration this feels way too wet like water when applied. 🤷🏼♂️ I do like it ,with a slight ,but…… it was gifted to me and I’m glad that I personally didn’t over pay for it.✅ certainly it’s a very pleasant fragrance that’s over hyped and over priced and I’m proud to have it in my collection.
I wish they would continue making the 2023 and 2024 versions, i think Morrias really made a banger with the first version and people were just so mad they discontinued profumo that they didnt see the masterpiece that the 2023 version is. Just got the new 2024 version and its amazing, but immediately bought another 4.2 of the 2023 because for me, i can smell the 2023 a little longer on myself because of the "freshness" or "fizziness" of it that profumo and the new version dont have to my nose. I love them both but ill be sad when i cant buy the 2023 version anymore because that thing was an amazing change to the profumo dna. Not that it was that big of a change anyways. Either way Morrias doesnt mess up and he def had something going with the 2023 version no matter how much hate it got. Best way to describe the differences for me is the 2023 was more fizzy while profumo and 2024 version parfum are more balsamic.

Never got to experience profumo in all its glory. I just got back into finding new fragrances and I got me the parfum di gio. I absolutely love it but from reading I get profumo was the exact same just more incense and parfum is toned down. With that in consideration I would love to try profumo, I love the incense notes you get in parfum but if they were strong like I hewr they were in profumo, man. Be the perfect scent. I'm struggling to find a legit full bottle of profumo however and buying online you always run risks. I wish they would bring this back and I wish they made it refillable like the others if they brought it back and made it refillable I would have a permanent office easy everyday scent and they would have a loyal costumer believe me :). If anyone has suggestions where I may be able to get me a bottle that won't cost 200-300 dollars I would appreciate the lead!!
I had a nasty leakage issue with a 125ml ADG Profumo bottle (October 2022 batch) I used pliers and carefully applied some pressure going all the way around the collar. The bottle now has some unsightly scuffs around the collar, but it hasn't leaked since.
I don't know why Ash is upset about his bottle leaking. Armani's own advertisement for the Parfum refillable bottle shows it leaking at the beginning of the video 😂
Interesting Review! I have only ever owned Profundo and Absolu. Both were gifts. I wear once in a blue moon. I have no complaints. Just not regular scents for me. Cheers🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

I just bought my first bottle of Profumo this year, most disappointing fragrance out of all 100+ of my collection so far. It is so weak, lasts sub 2 hours, and as far as scent, it's my least favorite of all the ADGs I've tried. From what I've read, the reformulation ruined this fragrance. **Just for reference, the original ADG EDT was my signature scent for 15 years, it's one of my all time favorites.**
Profumo is not a remarkable scent to begin with. Salty seawater is what you mostly get, the attempt to blend saltiness with sweet is totally not for me. Designer scents should be stopped getting so much hype, when most of them smell downright mediocre next to actual legendary summer scents such as Imagination by LV, Torino21 by Xerjoff, Hacivat by Nishane or Percival by PdM. Niche is where the Perfume game is actually played at. Not saying I dislike all of Armani's scents, their "Stronger with You" line is actually legit.
percival is a clone of abercrombie fierce. and nishane a clone of creed aventus. not true summer scents also. more like all season scents. haven't smelled the other 2 yet. niche also has a huge amount of mediocre scents btw. only a few gems, same goes for designers.
So I guess I'm a newb scent guy (at 44yo 😂) but I've only ever used ADG EDT for the last 23 years. I always understood the difference between EDT, EDP, P were just the strength/lasting power and I only ever knew of the EDT version of ADG but I've always wanted a stronger version. That lead me to this vid today. I thought "wow a parfum version exists??" Now this vid has me questioning everything. Are these diff ADG versions actually different fragrances entirely?

Profumo just got more character. The new Parfum is inbetween Profumo and the OG so for me a bit without character.

Forsure adg always gets better with time. My profondo and even the edt i got a year ago are crazy strong right now.

I like the opening of acqua di gio parfum very much but is has zero! longevity on my skin. Zero!!! 😢

I had the same leaky bottle issue with my Savauge EDT, which is also refillable. So I think it’s 💯 due to the refillable bottle design.

Interesting Review! I have only ever owned Profundo and Absolu. Both were gifts. I wear once in a blue moon. I have no complaints. Just not regular scents for me. Cheers🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Just FYI I have no issues with leakage or sticking atomizer with my bottle. No complaints there from me. Might just be his bottle.

I just bought my first bottle of Profumo this year, most disappointing fragrance out of all 100+ of my collection so far. It is so weak, lasts sub 2 hours, and as far as scent, it's my least favorite of all the ADGs I've tried. From what I've read, the reformulation ruined this fragrance. **Just for reference, the original ADG EDT was my signature scent for 15 years, it's one of my all time favorites.**

Profumo is not a remarkable scent to begin with. Salty seawater is what you mostly get, the attempt to blend saltiness with sweet is totally not for me. Designer scents should be stopped getting so much hype, when most of them smell downright mediocre next to actual legendary summer scents such as Imagination by LV, Torino21 by Xerjoff, Hacivat by Nishane or Percival by PdM. Niche is where the Perfume game is actually played at.
Not saying I dislike all of Armani's scents, their "Stronger with You" line is actually legit.
percival is a clone of abercrombie fierce. and nishane a clone of creed aventus. not true summer scents also. more like all season scents. haven't smelled the other 2 yet. niche also has a huge amount of mediocre scents btw. only a few gems, same goes for designers.

Profumo way better then this in my opinion.
You forgot the patchouli note that is in Parfumo. Parfumo had the ADG dna it it, but added that 1-2 hit combo of incense and patchouli.
I have both Profumo and parfum. I can say I prefer parfum.

So I guess I'm a newb scent guy (at 44yo 😂) but I've only ever used ADG EDT for the last 23 years.
I always understood the difference between EDT, EDP, P were just the strength/lasting power and I only ever knew of the EDT version of ADG but I've always wanted a stronger version. That lead me to this vid today. I thought "wow a parfum version exists??"
Now this vid has me questioning everything. Are these diff ADG versions actually different fragrances entirely?
Yeah they are pretty different. Ofcourse there are similarities between them but the smell is not the same at all.
