Barkley’s are moderately based on the Air Jordan 9 from that time because Chuck liked that shoe a lot. You can see the influences down to the shape of this shoe, but they whipped it up in a way unique for him. This was the shoe that actually featured Speed Lace 2, before the Air Jordan 10 dropped, which would be Speed Lace 3, followed by Speed Lace 4 on the AJ11.
Still have one from the past release. It was a hunt and I found someone local. A half size up helps with getting your foot in. It’s a good fit and I’ve been wearing it for Canadian winters

Walked into Aventura Mall this morning looking for the Air Max Griffey’s 1 Freshwaters and started talking to another guy in line who told me the CB’s were dropping today, too (I wasn’t even aware)! Ended up copping both 👌🏼! Had the black/purple CB color way back in the day so I had to scoop these up as well 🔥

I just started collecting Nike’s a couple of Months ago…it all started with me just deciding to buy a decent pair of shoes I could either use casually or at the gym (upper body weight training)…and now I have over 14 different pairs of different Nike’s from Airmax 90’s (7 pair already) to 3 different pairs of Jordan’s (the Jumpman MVP in Black /Royal being my ultimate favorite)… and a few other Nike style shoes…and now I want these. I need to stop watching these Nike UA-cam videos. I’ll hold off for now I already have too many pairs but these are now on my radar.

This time around retro them with suede. That Vactech shit back in 2014 was garbage. I bought them for the nostalgia but i instantly sold them after 3 wears.
Love em, got the black & purple & these white & black ones. Love them so much. One issue to us fat footers: I had to cut the inside booties with a carpetenders knife just so I could get them on. Other then that, love em, need these in black now.
Man these were tough to come by. Couldn’t find em anywhere online this morning (2/15). Messaged Nike and asked them if these were dropping today and they didn’t know anything about them releasing today and said they came out last month... I ended up breaking my rule and paying resale for a GR. BTW you’re spot on about the Air Ups, those are straight plastic. My love for 90s kicks and Penny made me buy em (and keep em) though.

The other thing about the more popular black and white colorway with the purple bootie insert of the CB '94's is the purple paint inside the air max unit which isn't the original look. The first release of the CB '94's had a white/silver painted air max unit in the heels which i think looks better then the purple colored heel max units on the retros.
I love Chuck’s sig line before he went to Houston. Also...that comment confused me as well, especially knowing how beefy he’s shoes were compared to the AJ14. 🤣 Still the man was the meanest power forward in the game, especially for being undersized!

Maybe I'm wrong but I have the feeling that those fit and feel a lot like the Air Max2 Uptempo 94 retro from 2017 in the white and black colorway. I really like those and the CBs

Bought the white and red ones back in 2002-2003 during my junior year, and upto this date its one of my favorite retros that isnt jordan brand.
