As someone who's fighting through depression right now, it means a lot to me to hear a hero of mine like Alice talking about it.
how are you doing sparky?
me too , i join club sadly ??
Take care of yourselves, everybody. My heart goes out to you.
I've fought my demons of depression for a long time and come across too many people who deny it even a real medical condition. I can't thank Alice Cooper enough for talking about it.
I've fought my demons of self obsessed people like you. Everybody said they didn't exist. They do though.
I met him twice, and he is a genuinely nice guy
Which is especially ironic, considering he has a song called "No More Mr. Nice Guy"!
Alice helped keep me sane as a teenager. I came from a very abusive home and I wasn't able to talk to anyone about it but I could listen to Alice Cooper. It helped me a lot to know there was another person in this world that understood. Thank You Alice! Much Love!
I was a full fledged opiate addict , but when Mr Cooper spoke...I listened. Thank you Alice Cooper.
Bravo Alice... you're a superstar in music and in life!
He was in Wayne's world as well he is a great rock star
like fans .....
Did any of you know that, in 1978, Alice was the force to
lead celebrities to raise money to replace the original Hollywood Sign in Los
Angeles, California? The sign was falling down due to 55 years of weather deterioration.
Cooper himself contributed $27,777 to the project, “buying” an O in the new sign
in memory of close friend Groucho Marx.
Hugh Hefner gets a lot of credit for this project, but it was Alice who
was the force behind getting it started.
I didn't know that! Thank you for that info about two people's work that I like, Groucho (& the Marx Bros) & Alice Cooper.
That's awesome. I didn't know that.
Yes, I did. It was in Alice's book "Golf Monster". Thanks for sharing.
Not "buying", just buying. He actually owns it.
Right on ALICE
I loved hearing a sneak-peak of Alice's new music. I can't wait for it to come out. Long live Alice Cooper!!!
Saw the Alice Cooper group in Dec. 73.' At the ripe old age of 16. Iv'e been sober a good while now and happy to see Alice doing well. Another rock n roll survivor. Some didn't make it. I see things haven't changed much today. Same games, same results.
my first concert was seeing alice, back in 71 i was 15 love listening to him
Oh you saw the original band ! Awesome ! Where & when ? Can you share any memories ?
He's awesome!!! So glad they wrote that song...had he never experienced depression for those days, he may never have written that song! So glad he did it! Great guy!
What he said in this interview made sense. You don't know what depression is like until you've been thru it.
1972 I got my first job a general hand in an engineering shop. and the first record I bought was Schools out ha ha I've still got that Album today. Great music great man. Alice.
kevscranes Yeah I have the same original album, you can fold it up like a school desk, still working😀
Thank you. I've had my share of depression and you just gotta keep goin'. God has a reason for everything that happens to us. I am grateful to still be here. Thank you. I'm Sharon
His first single from the new album came out last night. Its great! I think the rest comes out in July. My husband and I love Alice Cooper!
It's great that Alice talks about this. Thank you Alice
Bob Ezrin has produced so many great albums that I LOVE, thank you Bob 😘
Alice is my favorite deejay, I listen to him 5-nights-a-week during work.
Thank you for that, Alice!
I been there...done that...Alice was with me the entire time!!!
God Bless him.
It's crazy to see what a nice guy he is off-stage and then see him onstage as a crazed murderer who never cracks a smile
Met him once in the 80's and as you say he is a really nice person to talk to. As for Alice, that man is so scary. Have you seen what he does to anyone who walks onto HIS stage?
Lee Berry What does he do?
Johan When I saw him, a photographer was annoying the band taking pictures until Alice pushed him away. But he came back so Alice grabbed a microphone stand and skewered him through his chest and out his back, with a huge fountain of blood. Of course everyone cheered because the dude had been warned. That was just one of the stunts that make up an Alice Cooper show.
So he killed a guy? WTF
No.
As a HM fan with PTSD, this means so much, thank you 🙏💚🌟
I have been a fan of Alice Cooper since 1971. I became alcoholic, but 2018 was 20 yrs sobriety. But since 2011, something hasn't been right, and December 30,2018 my best friend from childhood committed suicide. That woke ME up, and last month I started to get some help and found out that I have been suffering from severe depression. I am 61 and killing myself ISN'T an option, I just want to be able to enjoy again.
I love Alice Cooper. Charming witty raw and fantastically talented. Just great guy.
Thank you Alice! For everything.
I so agree with what he has to say about mental health.
I so agree. Mental health is just mental health.
Alice is such a sweetheart off stage.
Such an intelligent man.
Nice message, thx you alice.
but he is not trendy so nobody cares but me ???
He's the best interview ever
Brilliant talent and real nice guy, in spite of the song :)
I have always thought Alice is so articulate and interesting to listen to
What a legend
Alice Cooper is Cool! 😎 👍 Highly intelligent and intellectual individual!

if you suffer from depression, i urge you to get your thyroid checked. for 50 years (yes, 50! years) i suffered horribly. i kept a house full of dogs and other pets in order to keep myself alive, the rationale being 'no one would take care of them and they would die, like me'. but several years ago i was put on thyroid medication and it saved my life. if i had not had the thyroid medication, i would not have been able to handle being diagnosed with cancer. truly, a $4 prescription saved my life. i don't know if could help anyone out there, but its worth a try. have your doctor do Free Thyroxin tests and T3 and T4 and see what happens. it might save you a LIFETIME of depression and its attendant problems.
bob ezrin tony visconti and jack douglas ahhhhhhh the greats of 70s producers still here
Thank you Alice.
Alice Cooper is Cool! 😎👍
Remember the Coop !!
But you know it brakes my hearth to leave you....
God bless Alice!
He is so right. Just as everyone has physical ailments, we all have mental ailments as well, both varying in severity.
I have a social phobia. Im trying to work through it, and learn to use in a way that glorifies God. Music helps calm me when it gets to me; The Unnamed Feeling by Metallica is so relateable to me.
Mint such a legend xxxx
Mr. Alice Cooper please run for president soon! "Kids want a savior, don't need a fake ... You'll take the country by storm" ...
Udo Höffken would be be a Republican or Democrat? Based on his religious views and other views that he has talked about, I would think he would be a Republican. Even if he was a democrat, I think I would still vote for him.
He is doing what most entertainers are supposed to do. Build a wall between their private and stage life.
My very first ever vinyl was Alice Cooper's - Welcome to My Nightmare played on one of those little suitcase turntables.....
Alice Cooper... Thank you so much for "Hey Stupid", I myself experienced Depression so bad I was almost totally paralyzed with fear and paranoia at one time in my life; and it lasted for weeks! Thank you! 🤒
He’s a wonderful guy our Alice.
Such a great man
A honest and great gentleman Alice Cooper. Love to hear this
Happy happy birthday from you biggest fan! VONI IN OKLAHOMA!
It is always somehow funny to see Alice talking about mental health
He does a radio show around my area. He talked about this stuff tonight. Love his show.
The only thing I miss about living in Virginia
tommywho924 You can access it on his ap! Nights with Alice Cooper.
Cooper is a devout Christian.
Ace Frehley devout? Heard Ace was engaged to a Jewish woman?
Both pro islamic dickheads
Really??? That ruins Alice for me. That makes him a delusional dimwit that pretends to be hip...groan, yawn
Nowt wrong with being a Christian 💥
Great man.
gr8 guy :)
I love Alice Cooper 😎
thanx Alice!!
Good man.
Yo Alice your so kind... I feeled really overwhelmed bereefed two months ago for several reasons . My roomy died my kitten felt really serious about the edge. Did I see "Cereal Kyler" aka Kyler Clark, Alice's personal assistant and photographer in the background of that last shot in the studio? He's in the back with the beanie on.
if i could talk to alice cooper for just 10 minutes would do me wonders.
0:35 What the hell do you mean "almost"?? This rock legend NEEDS NO INTRODUCTION!
Alice, the best of the best
Thank you, I have struggled with Depression and other Mental problems. I take medicine for Schizophrenia, and I am doing very well. I am a high ranking Schizo, I do very good with my medicine. And I am a little Mentally Bent!
I have severe OCD and Mental illness is no joke.
I did not know that Alice Cooper suffers depression. Music sure does help you by the way.
There's no such thing as depression.
He was an alcoholic who almost drank himself to death. Cirrohsis of the liver. Depression had to be hurting him.
if you really think there is no such thing as depression, take about 60mg of vicodin every day for 6 weeks and then abruptly stop. come back and tell me how you feel
He doesn't suffer from it anymore. He HAD it....and won.
He beat alcohol & cocaine ! And i mean crack ! Which is like 50 times more powerful than snorting it ! He is very strong !
Ive fought depression for a long time and finaly got a lid on it to where it doesnt overwhelm me ...it isnt a case of buck up nancy anymore
I really like Alice Cooper (or Vince Furnier, either / or) and I've always been inspired by his openness and honesty about his mental health and his alcoholism. However--- he says in this interview that "I had one bout with major depression and it scared me so bad" and it turns out the 'one bout' lasted all of 3 days. I'm happy for him that he was able to tackle and treat his 'major depression' for the entire three days he experienced it, but I'd rather not hear him talk about it like he knows all about it. To those with real diagnosed clinical depression I think it's kinda disrespectful of him to put that out there in all seriousness. Major depression (or 'minor' depression, or whatever kind of depression) doesn't just kick in for 3 days and then disappear, voila, back to normal again. For me, feeling 'depressed' for three days isn't 'depression', it's a darn bad mood.
The thing that always blew me away about him is the fact that he IS such a sweet, funny, very personable guy-and always has been, even in the early, early days of the original band back in the early 70's. That's what parents never realized, gave him the chance to show, or took the time to notice, that it's always been just an "act", like an actor playing a villain in a play, TV show or a film-NO difference! I even remember seeing some rare footage of the original band back in, like, 1972, back stage just before they'd go on, and you could see him with the other four guys just going, "Okay boys, let's go out there and give these kids their money's worth and have a blast!" And as soon as he'd hit the stage he would just transform into this wild, manic, sinister character. Again, just like ANY actor playing a role!!
He's "Vince" at home, and backstage, but he's "Alice" when he's performing. I've always liked how he dept his real life and his stage life seperate.
Super🎩👑
Lovely man
Yes. loved him since I was a child, go to his shows every time he is in UK, even when he id hollywood vampitres
When it comes to my own phobias, I have a fear of heights, snakes, and bugs. I also remember when I was about 6-7, I was afraid of the monster under my bed (no thanks to my brother who taped a walkie-talkie under my bed and made monster noises)
Alice Cooper Thank you for sharing your story I struggle with depression and anxiety and I tried suicide
Cool
That's not Alice. Alice is the character on stage. This here is Uncle Vince!
Only his mother gets away with calling him Vince lol
Blue Turk... the greatest fantastical song by the most unlikeliest of sources... discuss...
A natural born leader.
Longue vie Vampire 🦇 😇
i crie everytiume/
You want help with depression? Put on Alice's album From the Inside. Always does the trick for me and maybe it will for you, too.
he looks like Schneider from one day at a time, but with long hair
Hahahaha, I see what you mean, good one!
❤❤❤
But who do we trust opening or breaking down those barriers. Then dealing with the humiliation.
i hate how people focus on him being a christian so what nobodys perfect i just want to hear his music
His being a christian is what helps him through life. Who are we to criticize him for that.
There is nobody bulbous chins criticism bushels and lamps hidden though.
i love your humor . nobody caught it. lmfao... "him being a christian, so what, nobody's perfect" LOL
There is hope and peace in Jesus Christ.
Im sure his millions will help
I could watch him talk or preform all day😍😈
