Osiyo! I need to make my connection with my family, with my tribe and re-learn the traditions and the language. My grandmother was Tsalagi and she didn't make it back to you all the way she desired in her lifetime. I would like to honor her member by connecting and if you can respond to this post with some direction I would greatly appreciate it.
can you translate a name now my name is Karen Canobie translated in to Cherokee or how about what I friend likes to call me nature girl there's some in the family I just don't know what time it is my grandfather his name was Henry fern and he served our country so he's a vet

Karen Lee Oseyo My Wifes Name Is Karen And I Call Her Squirrel Girl And Sometimes She Gets Mad At Me If I Say It In Cherokee ?
Why did he use characters from the Roman alphabet that represent a different sound instead of creating a new one as he did for so many other phonema?
The original syllabary was original, but it was modified for print, so the characters were simplified.
