    GENERAL STUFF
I am retired from two careers of primary school teaching when I was deputy head of a Middle School and Primary School, and as a self employed Chalkboard Artist from 2002 until I reached the grand old age of 65 in 2016. Since I retired it’s like a second childhood but with more expensive toys.

I play guitar and write songs and have written about 14 songs for the local BBC radio station. I run a weekly (weakly) evening Acoustic session at a local pub and have been doing so for 14 years now. I also started an afternoon acoustic session in a quite large cafe in Nuneaton. Both premises were former songwriting clients of mine.
Much of the music I use on this channel is taken from epidemicsound.com free to use on UA-cam for a reasonable monthly fee, and sometimes I suffer you with my own music.
    Gear that I use:
    DJI Mavic Mini Drone.
Iphone X for camera, generally front facing so I can see myself in frame. Super quality especially if I keep the lens clean.
Gimble is a Q2 Smooth by Zhiyun, I ought to use this more often because it was expensive.
    Canon G7mk2
Rhode videomicro mic with iPhone (if necessary in the wind)
Rhode videomic to do voice over on computer
Video editing with Final Cut Pro X
Polarduck Mini Tripod for mobile phone. This is so good and under £10.00 I bought two.
    Lamcou bendy leg tripod
Tall Tripod is a Velbon CX 540
Mono pod is a Manfrotto Compact MMC3-02 and is very useful for getting high angles that look like low flight drone shots and so easy to carry on my bike along with the mini tripod.
Money from ARTWORK SOLD will go to the MONA FOUNDATION

    Hi John!
Chuck from Tonasket, Washington, America, here. Love your love/hate relationship with America. ;-) I’m recently retired. Your talent captured in your videos captivates me. In high school, I was the guy with fancy lettering all over my PeeChees™. In the military, mates paid me money to draw pictures of their girlfriend. I spent 27 years as a tug captain but early on, I carved sign boards for tugs and fishing boats. I never associated my gift for art with a career … or money. I don’t have tattoos or jewelry installed on various parts of my anatomy. Near as I can tell…neither do you! I live in beautiful, remote, North Central Washington State that I think is dying for a fair Chalk Artist. The fonts you typically use are what I consider Olde English. Can you recommend fonts for the Wild Wild West?

Hi Chuck, great American name BTW, I've just checked out the landscape around Tonasket on Google earth. It looks like beautiful country. Your artwork sounds fantastic. I was asked if I know when people appreciate my artwork and I say it's when they give me the money and if they ask me back for more. I recently bought a couple of carving chisels and had a go. It is quite good fun but not my forte. No I dont have any tattoos, despite the fashion, mind you I did once use felt tips to 'Tattoo' my son when he was a teenager before he went out on the town, barbed wire round his neck etc. He looked frightening. Fortunately it wore off quite quickly.
Love / Hate America is quite a good way of putting it. I need to be care since my granddauhgter of 17 months is a Californian Girl and has a brother on the way too. I'll be back to visit for Thanksgiving. Also I have cousins in Michigan and I am a distant relative of Halle Berry, we have the same great great grandparents.
I'm not sure what Olde English font is exactly and I have no real suggestion for the Wild West, how about letters defined by a line of bullet holes? The NRA would probably approve.

LOL…You made me laugh, John. I will send you money after I get settled into my new retired life. The fonts you use are aptly suited for the English Countryside. Really beautiful, I might add! Just as different accents span America as well as the Atlantic, choice of fonts might change as well? It's subtle. Like varnished oak, a good font stands on its own. My gut feeling suggests putting a lot of thought into font choice … if only to please myself. ;-). You’re spot on about bullet holes. That's a great idea! Perhaps using bullet holes as a signature? Your stereotype of us American cowboys doesn’t miss the mark by much. We are armed to the teeth but you’ll never find a more peaceful, fun loving bunch of good natured common sense folk. Frankly, “disturbed hunters" from the Big City do most of the bullet holes in our local signs. We call 'em vegetarians. I love our county: The Okanogan. Biggest county in Washington. 5200 square miles. Only four traffic lights. All within a half mile of each other. Sadly, only two are needed. If it counts for anything, I’m a Bond fan and loved Halle Berry as Jinx in Die Another Day. Can you tell us about the first buck you earned doing chalk signs? Love your videos!

Thanks so much for the video. I know your style is based on italic, but I notice you're making a lot of miniscule letters in one continuous stroke like the 'o' and 'd''? Is that your modification for speed/rhythm? The other letter I was wondering about your 'r'; especially when linked, it could be mistaken for for 'v?' Do you rely on ppl just picking it out from context? Have you used other forms or 'r'? Just curious?

Rudd RocksVanUffrith Hi Rudd. Thanks for your kind words. The answer is probably yes to all your questions. My regular handwriting is not an exact art and often rules are bent or ignored or blatantly broken.
