Couldn’t be a bigger of this show! Really hope this continues! Just the right amount of ruby chat and absolute bollocks. Perfect combo, keep smashing it lads !
Great episode once again!! Great beginning, great “rugby” talk 😂, great guest, great insights, great XVs!!! Looking forward to next week’s episode! Cheers!!
Regarding the number of tries Wales scored to win the Six Nations. Yes at 10 it was the lowest, but consider this, that no team outscored Wales with regard to tries when they met in a match: France v Wales - 2 tries to 3 tries, Italy v Wales - 2 tries to 2 tries, Wales v England - 2 tries to 1try, Scotland v Wales - 1 try to 2 tries, Wales v Ireland - 1 try to 1 try. These are the stats that matter with regard to tries, and despite the 24 tries that England scored during the tournament, when it mattered, they couldn't match the number of tries Wales scored against them.
only bumped into this video by accident, i saw the wales grand slam in the title so i thought i would watch to see what everyone had to say, watched the whole podcast and really enjoyed it, better than our scrum five , james for next england coach
You gotta love it 😂 it was all England making poor decisions, poor handling blah blah blah and virtually nothing given to Scotland who let's face it name another rugby side that's had the balls to keep going when 31 points down AND pull it back. Well done Scotland from NZ.
This is one of of the funniest episodes I have watched. I love this show and I don't like rugby or know anything about the rules but these guys make it sound very interesting...
craig forsyth.. Yup... Joe Marler would have had some truths to spout about the whole weekends games! Not just upper class wannabes speaking there rhetoric! Although, Joe is very english he comes across as an everyman IMO! Great dude as well and great value! ! !
Wales controlled every game that they played for the key periods. It wasn’t one of those “all passion, no composure” campaigns that characterised games of the past. Wales simply didn’t let the other teams play ball. England did this in their World Cup winning era. I don’t think that Wales have been given enough credit for their tactical dominance in every game. Forget the 1970s teams - the last decade is the greatest era in Welsh rugby.
OH YEAH I FORGOT TO SAY... WALES ARE RANKED #2 IN THE WHOLE WORLD! Thats incredible for such a small country! Passion must play a huge mental role in the Welsh make-up!!! Although I must say England played some terrific rugby at times! It would have been remiss of me to not mention that!
Great show. Superman wears AWJ pyjamas! Tindall still bitter over Wales doing the slam, you could see him grimacing going anywhere near complimenting them hahaha. Spoke about the Wales slam for about 30 seconds, imagine how the entire fucking show would have been about Ingerland if they had won, instead they blew a 31 - 0 lead and were lucky to get a draw. Never laughed so hard for all good reasons on Saturday. Hahaha. Good to see Madley (Partridge light) on was a fun time, especially Haskells face and asskissing throughout lol.
Not taking a penalty? The problem with much of this analysis is it is predicated on Scotland being a passive participant. Scotland made a ton of errors in that first half: rushing out the line: Griggs & Johnson led to first try. Falling asleep at line out = 2nd try. Though it isn't just that there were other things going on. Manu's outrageous "tackle" at 27:51 in lead up to England's 4th try. That should've been a red card, pen to Scotland under the posts. This is why analysis that treats the opponent like they wouldn't change anything? Is dogmatic. It does not provide the whole picture. The big picture of that game? Was the pace at which it was played. Even when Scotland were getting eviscerated they played fast, probably not wisely but Price especially kept firing the ball out as quickly as possible. Why is this relevant? In the 2nd half by 50 mins in the English pack was done. They had pretty much nothing left. The pace had destroyed them. This was clearly evident in the time/space Russell was suddenly afforded. It was also evident in Bradbury & Watson winning the collisions and getting over the gain line with every carry. You toss in Manu being done as well? Gaps opened up everywhere. On Scotland's 3rd try, Billy V looked like a drunk trying to find the taxi stand at 3am. He was spent. Bradbury started that play almost 20 yards behind Billy. Yet by the time he got the inside ball he was 5 yards beyond streaking away at pace. Meanwhile Billy was completely disorientated. England's fitness went and it went fast. The 4th try was simply a brilliant, brilliant pass Russell launched into space, anticipating Maitland running onto it. Not much you can do about that. The 5th try, however ... Watch Russell. He gives a short pass to put the play in the middle of the field. As soon as he made that pass he turned his back & hustled to his backline. He was letting them know exactly what the plan was. Russell knew Tuilagi was knackered and would bite because he was so exhausted he was going on instincts. Those instincts? Stick outside because Scotland are moving the ball wide! Ooops. He bites, Hughes bites (again; 2018 Huw Jones redux) and SJ is in a gaping hole. Even the 5th try is all about England being physically and mentally exhausted. On first phase all 6N England have run that diamond. The middle player has gotten the pass, again, again and again. It became frankly robotic. England knew Scotland had momentum, were taking risks so why stick to a plan that was suddenly not working? They were to damn tired to think beyond plan A. Again Russell sensed this. He'd seen this play run and knew exactly where the ball was going. Given how deep it was? It was still a big risk but what helped? Farrell's pass had no snap to it, it looked labored. Almost as if he was going through the motions. England at the moment are over coached. Had they merely run pods off the fringes of ruck in 2nd half? They win. There would not have been enough time for Scotland & Watson's hand is not fully recovered so threat of Jackal was minimized. Keep it tight, kick to grass when Scotland over commit bodies to breakdown. The problem? That is much harder to do when you are exhausted and have a coach that has his team so focused on repeating the same plays, over and over.
i like how they said how well scotland did in there game vs england oh wait they didn't. this is why england lost that game and last years game if they thought scotland were a good team they most likely would have won imo. but i'm scottish so i hope they keep doing it.
Surely the 2015 point must be considered, the All Blacks were infamous chokers for world cup after world cup until they focused on fixing the mental side.
Just started listening and now watching the episodes on u tube excellent show a good mix of rugby and banter really funny. Would be great if you could get guests from a mix of rugby nations on who have some good stories to tell. Good to see it’s not all PC as well.
when hask said about someone not knowing about rugby but they know about the team that does that does. That exact situation happened to me today and it was a big face palm.
Again, I just love the contrast between the laddish banter and the very insightful commentary on various subjects you get here. Haskell has probably provided the most level-headed views I've heard on what happened with England against Scotland. Makes a nice change from the stuff you see on social media which is mostly idiots giving their ill-thought out, uninformed opinions.
Yup, Haskell is at least not treading on hot coals as he's talking! Or trying to big himself up... its controlled criticism, and that is what the English team need ATM, IMO. This is coming from a rabid Welsh rugby supporter! :D ♡♥♡ .

GWLAD I dont blame them as they would rather France win than England lololol! Nah im joking, Wales fucked the Irish up and shut them down! Well done to Scotland for retaining the Calcutta Cup 2 years in a row though!

@King Alfreds Shieldwall hahaha that's clearly a very funny jab at England capitulatung a 31-0 lead v Scotland. If it's not you are not funny and on drugs
Who the fook wanted the roof open in Wales, like really?!?!?!... I would have thought that the Irish would have known that the Welsh "invite the rain" (well actually it usually comes uninvited most of the time anyway's) but my god. I think it was more of the Irish not wanting the home fans noise being reverberated and carried around the stadium, which is fair! As it can feel quite hostile and claustrophobic with the roof closed lol! Ireland got their way though... ha ha ha! Gatland is so good at reverse psychology, he really is a master of this and has turned it into a clever science of veiled deceit's with hidden weapons. What a clever out of the box thinker and interesting bloke he is, to say the least!
Rules are both teams must agree for the roof to be closed, apparently effectively giving the choice to the visitors (1/2 the games wales play have no roof...they are away!) but i guess wales inevitably have more experience of playing under a roof then most, so there's a possible advantage there. So it was Ireland's choice - which makes sense, Ireland is probably the only place on the planet with more rain than wales, so they would be used to it.
Jon Bruford I doubt more, but definatly an equal amount! Although, I really dont think it made any difference! Ireland did not want England winning anyway lolololol!!! :P .
Sam Matten Against Scotland, at home! Well done! Shame you couldn't win all your games! You should try doing what Wales do, just win every game, it makes it a lot easier! Oh and BTW, where is the Calcutta Cup?
England were trying to throw the ball around like Wales used to... but they did not have the skill and foresight to do so! Thats why they got HAMMERED in the second half, and rightly so! England were very VERY lucky to get the draw although, the SCOTTISH RETAINED THE CALCUTTA CUP! The Scotts haven't lost to the English in two back to back games! WELL DONE SCOTLAND!
Top Episode and another genuine insight into the life of a professional rugby player behind the scenes. Keep up the good work. Question for Hask: Are you still magnet fishing?
We really need Hartley, Robo and Hask back in the squad to actually bring some leadership as we can’t adapt on field. Also it will be good when Mako, Itoje and Lawes get back from injuries
engerland need an engerland coach. Farrell did his tackle again and that was it for the composure of Eddie Jones. He dragged him on a worry. Amateur time. My girlfreind turned to me and said , " He's their captain is'nt he? "
John MacDonald I mean when he was appointed as captain after the 2015 World Cup we won the grand slam and the tour in Australia 3-0 and went on the equal largest unbeaten run ever
Sorry guys. I came here for the first time to hear some rugby chat. I looked at the header and thought, yeah I'd like to hear what these guys say. F**K me "loose women" for men. As to Tindall with his England were fantastic till they weren't. Scotland were just lucky..... BYE
Mike Tindall is the most biast man alive, in both the wales and Scotland games this year he’s blamed pure luck said they were rubbish and said it’s not England’s fault! Ridiculous
George Roberts I AGREE MATE, THE MAN IS A TOOL! Talk about lack of brain cells! Also, he blames the other dude, not Haskell, for why people dislike the english... no mate ITS WHAT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH! Yes the interviewer is super english but he doesn't come across as a complete arse hole! Even though the interviewer throws in a lot of posh French words into the conversation, I actually like that! Its different and I like learning new words!!! And im Welsh and a fluent Welsh speaker!
Wow the tribal denial. England were carved up by someone with real skill. They didn't cope well, arrogance told them to spin the ball wide against a team they had at 31v 0 even when it was 31-24, a team better than them at broken play. Arrogance. The AB's are never arrogant.
QUESTION FOR HASKELL... do you ever wish you had played for Wales as you had the chance! You would have won 3 Grand Slams and 1 Championship in the last few years? If you had got into the top 15 that is?!?!?
Did you know Wales have won 39 Five and Six Nations titles 27 outright and 12 shared ‘Amazing’ more than every other team in Europe : en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Nations_Championship
Joe Marler would have had some truths to spout about the whole weekends games! Not just upper class wannabes speaking there rhetoric! Although, Joe is very english he comes across as an everyman IMO! Great dude as well and great value! ! !
I really enjoy this show but i cant watch a full episode due to that boring old bias nobody tindall . Get someone with a personality and rugby knowledge on there instead and watch your stats hit the roof !
?? Last year? Scotland had a strong team..just the guys were saying that the tries were lucky? Russell's pass for Darcey's try ....Darcys first try and then Johnson's try.... none of them lucky? They suggested that Scotland got the luck of the bouncing ball. Nope :) Agreed if Scotland can get their best team on the pitch they can be a semi-final proposition for World Cup. THX!
Richard is so unironically Partridge-esque, but it absolutely works. Top bloke
Couldn’t be a bigger of this show! Really hope this continues!
Just the right amount of ruby chat and absolute bollocks. Perfect combo, keep smashing it lads !
Another great show. Richard Madeley is rumoured to be one of the main inspirations for Alan Partridge. You can really see it.
I don't think it's even a rumour
"Turns out I could hear from his accent: He was a Brummie" Very Partridge
dont think its intentional from madeley
This is the best show on UA-cam, absolute class!
Great episode once again!! Great beginning, great “rugby” talk 😂, great guest, great insights, great XVs!!! Looking forward to next week’s episode! Cheers!!
Was about to complement Richard on how naturally he took to being on camera and then I remembered his day job. Another excellent episode!

You gotta love it 😂 it was all England making poor decisions, poor handling blah blah blah and virtually nothing given to Scotland who let's face it name another rugby side that's had the balls to keep going when 31 points down AND pull it back. Well done Scotland from NZ.
Thanks Andrew, so very true my man. It's all about England's failings.
Australia did it to Argentina last year as well, so there's 1 more
Thanks mate. Unfortunately that’s what living in the uk is like. Everything is about England and the rest of us can get to fuck.
@@fabby8000 If a team puts 31 points past you by half time it's pretty obvious they're doing something wrong to let you back into the game.

Don’t call me a bitter Englishman. I put £5 each way on Wales to reach the final at 16 to 1 four months ago.🙂 Oh by the way congratulations.
Great show lads, but perfect pour my arse, you need to sack the guy "person",who pulls your pints.
Tinds got defensive on the "repetition" comment.
I really enjoy this show but i cant watch a full episode due to that boring old bias nobody tindall . Get someone with a personality and rugby knowledge on there instead and watch your stats hit the roof !
Someone must have told Haskell to stop talking about his bits and pieces
and thats from a welsh guy
Penfold haaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Minute one to minute thirty four... what a bunch of fucking nauses. But seriously, great show as always.
zero respect for Scotland???? Russell can play a bit ..not all lucky tries .....
martin you should have zero respect for England after drawing with scotlands 3rd team cos sure their 2nd team beat you last year
?? THX!
martin I don't think I understood your first post but I get it now I agree no credit given from them
God these guys are intensely annoying
Tindall deserves it from the Irish, as he is always dismissing them as a rugby team
