This Frankie Laine version of To Each His Own was our wedding song. My then husband & I considered it as "our" song. Things happen in life, we separated, then divorced. I found out nearly 2yrs ago that he passed away. Although it was our wedding song (first dance), I still love it. Yes, I'll dance with anyone now, of course I would!
Love this song and his voice !I was a teenager when I first heard it!Just some about his voice!Later in my 20s I would tell my friends about him and none knew who he was! They missed out!It still gets to me! loved everything I ever heard him sing!Just that voice!
Love his voice and I really love this song. I remember going to cemetery to bury my father and my brother home form the Navy, driving and this came on. never heard it before. I was sitting in the back seat with my best friend, I began to cry when this song came on and he turned and touched my cheek. They , my best friend and brother are now gone as well, so it really makes me cry , but I just love it. Not the usual love song memory but it is my first memory of this. Thank You so much for putting it on Utube.
Ric Tester-You expressed what I was thinking in a way I could not. I thought of Frankie Laine as Mr. Rawhide, singing with a whip in his hands, cowboy-style and I like it, but years ago I heard his version of "Tonight You Belong To Me" and he became one of my very favorites. After that I have heard other romantic songs by him and they have been real beauties in his voice. This song is another surprise to me and the more I know about his music, the more I admire him. What I learned just months ago is that Frankie is one of the "Italian Boys" (Sinatra, Dino, Como, Damone, Martino, 'Antonio' Bennett, etc.), so his excellence with romantic songs should not be surprising; it's only NATURAL. I'm so thankful to this channel for this song! Frankie Laine deserves all admiration and I say that for being so good is that his voice was one of those imitated by Sammy Davis, Jr. in his comic acts. The great Sammy was not going to imitate someone who was not that good. Kindest greetings from Puerto Rico! October 4/2020 at 4:30a.m. and enjoying this music!!! Take care you all!
Frankie gave this beautiful song a new lease on life. Quite different from the way the Ink Spots did it. I love both versions. A good song deserves more than one interpretation.
A rose must remain with the sun and the rain Or its lovely promise won't come true To each his own, to each his own And my own is you What good is a song if the words just don't belong And a dream must be a dream for two No good alone to each his own For me there's you If a flame is to grow there must be a glow To open each door there's a key I need you I know, I can't let you go Your touch means too much to me Two lips must insist on two more to be kissed Or they'll never know what love can do To each his own, I've found my own One and only you A rose must remain with the sun and the rain Or its lovely promise won't come true To each his own, I've found my own One and only you
I always did like this version of TO EACH HIS OWN. It was played locally here in OKC on our top 40 radio station. Good Post! Larry N. Boyington, aka Larry Neal, former curator of the Wax Museum on the big 1520 KOMA
I watched him sing this song on tv, I can,t remember the name of the show, but he blew me away. I was hoping he would sing this and he did. Now I grew up with Alice, Zepplin, the Who and the Moody Blues but this song slays me every time I hear it. Frankie Laine, was one of the classiest and easiest singers that I have ever heard. Peace
What can I say that hasn’t been said before.Growing up with his songs were touching meaningfully and romantic.I’m so glad I grew up in the era.Oh the beautiful memories.I’m sure many people feel the same way.Atleast we
Frankie Laines version of To each his own is hte very best version of the song her recorded in late 1967/early 1968. It was played a lot on AM 610 WIP Philadelphia which today is one of the 3 very best sports radio stations. Frankie Laine was from San Diego where he was born. The Ink Spots, the Platters and Al Martino all recorded To each his own and sang it. Al Martino sang in the Godfather III movie.
Packard0723-You are right. He is transformed whenever he sings romantic songs, I have found, although I do like his Country music. I see that you wrote this eight years ago, so I wish you and your family many blessings and lots of health. Kindly, from Puerto Rico, best wishes! October 4/2020.
I remember well this by Frankie, also The Platters. The Platters were great but I still prefer this one. Frankie was one helluva crooner, plus a very classy Man
This was memorably delivered by Al Martino in The Godfather III, where it was cited as Michael Corleon'e favorite song. Multiple artists charted with it in 1946.
I think it's ridiculous that I can't find an .mp3 download of this song on Amazon. I'd be willing to buy an entire album on CD just to rip this one song, but I can't find that either. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
@@CoolrockndadThe only version I could find on there is a live version from the Ed Sullivan Show. I wanted the original studio version, preferably remastered. But alas, that's likely never to happen.😞🤨
Not my sort of music but I'm a care assistant and a gentleman I care for always has me putting this song on and ive grown quite addicted to listening to it. His voice is very good 👍🏽 x
So lovely your one of the best Frankie 😢❤
One of the greatest songs I've ever heard ! Thank you Frankie.
Magic is the word for this awesome song from my dear friend Frankie Laine
My favorite Frankie Laine song. His voice aged so beautifully. I love him so much.

I had it played at my wedding when we had the 'first dance'. It was our song. Unfortunately, we divorced in 1972. Things happen for a reason.
I knew Frank for a very long time and he would have loved your story....he was sensational...
Frankie Laine was one of those singers who couldn't mess up a song. Whatever he did, he made it a masterpiece.

A rose must remain with the sun and the rain
Or its lovely promise won't come true
To each his own, to each his own
And my own is you
What good is a song if the words just don't belong
And a dream must be a dream for two
No good alone to each his own
For me there's you
If a flame is to grow there must be a glow
To open each door there's a key
I need you I know, I can't let you go
Your touch means too much to me
Two lips must insist on two more to be kissed
Or they'll never know what love can do
To each his own, I've found my own
One and only you
A rose must remain with the sun and the rain
Or its lovely promise won't come true
To each his own, I've found my own
One and only you

Frankie had a beautiful voice and he does this song great
.listen to Sam cooke do this song its absolutely beautiful too
I remember this song was very big in the 1940's. I like Frankie's version better!
@8moody1 Agreed!
pl tell me who the 1st sing this
Al Martino rendition's no slouch either.
Slightly slower tempo which I liked
But to each his own
To each his own
Check out the Ames brothers version, which I prefer. Great Hugo Winterhalter arrangement.
Nothing can beat The Ink Spots version of this song......however I suppose.... 'to each his own'!
Punk kids don't get it. That would be good. I don't want them to. Keep it where it belongs. Enjoy!
No they don't. They listen to junk.
