I met Frankie in 1957...at the Steel Pier ..I was 16 and loved him so much...he spoke to me from the stage and told the audience about me...my mom and I were thrilled...we spent a little time with him and he was so wonderful....all these years later...we remained close...I miss and will love him forever...my friend always
@@hunterbrookes thank you, Matt...we became close friends and I went to see him everywhere in the northeast that he appeared...he'd send me postcards from all over the world...wonderful friend...I loved him!
I learned from someone that on one of Frankie's visits to the London Palladium, rather than stay in a de-lux hotel near the venue, he travelled out to South London and stayed with a couple he knew who made him feel at home during that week. Just another example of the true humility of this lovely man! ( I treasure 5 letters Frankie sent me some years ago!)
Frankie laine what a living legend i Remember when he sang the theme song for the western series RAW HIDE, R.I P. FRANKIE YOU WERE A LEGEND YOU ARE MISSED. 🎤🎤🎤
I remember hearing Frankie for the first time when I was 7 years old. I was hooked, and 50 years later I'm still listening and loving The Man and his music. I went to see him in Bournemouth UK.somtime in the early eighties. I have many many LP's CDs and 45s and will treasure them forever. He has brought me so much joy and inspiration over the years.l am eternally grateful to him.
Frankie was all the rage in St.Ives, Cornwall in 1952.....but.....he had a record banned in England! Devoted fans will know it was Answer Me. On initial release here it was 'Answer me, Lord above'...the stiff, black-suited BBC mandarins took a one-eyed exception to the 'Lord' part; ( especially on Sundays, Radio Luxembourg Top Twenty day), So, thankfully, it was re-released with ' Answer me, oh my love'. We didn't mind; Frankie could have sung the preface to the Oxford Dictionary and we would have listened to that memorable, unforgettable voice!
I saw Frankie a few years before this video at an outdoor concert in Port Richey Fl. along with Jerry Vale, and some others I can't remember. Connie Frances was the ''head liner''. She staggered on stage filthy drunk and made a fool of herself. People walked out in droves. Frankie was fantastic. He sang all his hits and was in great voice.
Man… I’ve loved him ever since I was a kid and saw him on a re-run of Bachelor Father where he comes to visit Kelly Gregg at home when she was sick and couldn’t make it to his concert. I have so many of his old records ♥️♥️♥️
Nice interview. Brought back feelings of when I would visit friends in their later years. Mr Laine lead a comfortable life steeped in memories and accomplishments. So very nice that he had the companionship of Marcia.
Watched Frank play at the Liverpool Empire with my Mum and Dad. The support act was the Ink Spot’s. what a great concert, especially for a young teenager.
My dad would follow frankie when he was in England, my dad was a big fan of his he met him personally a few times and he always remembered him to , he was a lovely man godbless him 💙
i've always been a big fan of frankie laine. my mom had a nice record collection when we were kids and we would all play and listen to them and sometimes dance around the house. i remember "rose of picardy" well.
He died at 93 fantastic man he was my hero and I had every record he ever made at 1 time also a few records from America they weren’t recorded here ,,,,
Amazing singer he was. And his 1953 hit I Believe still holds the UK record for the longest non-consecutive run at No.1 18 Weeks. My all-time favourite song

Frankie was a great singer and entertainer. He gave so much pleasure to millions of people for many decades with his unique style of singing.
