Oh yeah this song is really great and excellent. How is the pandemic going over there? I'm delighted to meet you here. Where originally are you watching from? I'm Patrick Corey from NY USA
Frankie, your powerful voice and the many great songs you created and sang were a big part of my childhood My parents were great fans of yours. Thank you for your contributions to this world and God love you. Rest in Peace !!!
There is no singer, according to me who could sing like Frankie Laine. I mean he could sing them all, jass, popular, Western. I am almost 82 years old and still feel that he was the best.
I have a signed copy of this song, it's a 45 record from Frankie Laine .. always a fav , my hubby used to take me to see him for my birthday .. love it !!
My Dad met Frankie Laine when he was starting his career. He gave my Dad an autographed picture. I have it laminated and a note my Dad sent with it. I love Frankies music so the picture and note mean alot to me. My Dad will be 89 in July and has Dementia but knows all our family. We made amends the month before he was diagnosed. Praise God. 🙏🌈🦋❤🌹 From a proud Canadian, thank you Frankie. 🇨🇦
My Father was a huge fan of Frankie Laine and met him on a number of occasions when he came to the UK My Father passed away last year aged 83 with quite severe dementia, but we made sure that music at his funeral, was his beloved Frankie Laine and Nat King Cole This song sung by Frankie Laine is very emotional and always makes me think of my dear old Dad x
@@alangodfrey505 thank you - I actually have all my Dads Frankie Laine records and albums at present. Some of them are signed by the man himself - would you be interested in them, or know of anyone else that might want them - apparently there’s no market for them and will probably and up in the tip if no one wants them? Please let me know - revd@btinternet.com
Ses disques vont partie de ma discothèque depuis toujours. En les écoutant encore régulièrement je me replonge avec nostalgie dans mes années de jeunesse .
don't compare singers, we all have our favourites, my favourite singer is joe cocker, he and Frankie are both one of a kind, just enjoy all the music and the people that bring us so much pleasure " peace be with you all " .
@@kennethcurtis1856 Yes, you're absolutely right! The only thing I can think is that I was wrong of video...! ヅ Damn! I can't find any other explanation...
I think I was ten when I first heard Frankie's voice (my mother was listening to him sing). It stayed with me. This was not the verision I heard, but his voice is still wonderful, and it will remain so in this videos. ~~~February 17, 2018~~~
In my humble opinion, only four entertainers were and or capable of singing this great song. The writer and original, Mr Marty Robbins. Then Frankie Laine. Of course Elvis. And the the lessor known Johnny Clarke. Saw Mr Clarke perform several shows in the Virginia Tidewater area. Outstanding. Showman and fantastic voice. Don' t know where he is today. If memory serves me correctly, he had a girlfriend he called Precious , and he drank like a fish. Where is he now? He was a fantastic talent.
What a wonderful man. I was so blessed to have known and spent time with Frankie in the 60's and seventies in Las Vegas, he was so special. He had one song he played for me which he wanted to publish, produce at the time. I think it was called "Dammit isn't Gods middle name", I think that was the title. I would love to find that song - - thanks, DB

Frankie was easily old enough to be Elvis's father and was singing this just about the time that Elvis died. How well do suppose Elvis would have sung this at that age?
@naranjacarrot Frankie had the highest charting version, and he was 55 yrs. old in 1969. I think you know nothing at all about Frankie's personal experience! Marty must have liked Frankie's singing. He asked him to sing it!
I can't climb the mountain. I look at her everyday and she doesn't see me. I'd give my soul to make her happy and it just doesn't matter. I don't know what else to do...
I saw Frankie in the 1970s in Toronto when he had a more powerful voice and did this song justice. To see/hear how this should sound call up Marty Robbin's (who wrote the song) version.
