  • Every so often a car arrives that everyone at Wight Classics would happily take home. This 1927 Austin 7 wears its 95 years so well. Amazing period details; a charming car. Charlie shows you around the car and starts her up. The engine is so much better than you'd think from looking under the bonnet.

on a pre-war Austin 7 you only want to see good oil pressure when the engine is cold, when warmed you want to see low pressure - the lubrication system is a splash-fed by two jets, if it has high pressure it means one or both jets are blocked, so bad news, when cold the oil is less viscous so will be higher. At tickover, if it is almost at zero, but rises when the throttle is blipped, then all is good. A nice car, shame that you did not record the work as that would have been interesting content!

Charlie, would you mind speaking just a little slower and perhaps a bit clearer?
