I went out catfishing on my kayak for the first time the other day! Just wanted to say that I wouldn't have if it weren't for watching your videos. I caught 2 flatheads out of the river and had the time of my life! I plan to do alot more kayak catfishing thanks to you good sir! Lol
Great content as always. I can't believe those carp don't get you tangled more often with all those lines out....heck I cant avoid the tangles with 2 rods! Hands down some of the hardest pulling freshwater fun you can have, like reeling in a mini dumptruck. Keep sorelippin them!
During the spawn male carp basically ram the females with their heads to squeeze the eggs out to fertilize them. That's a common reason why they lose an eyeball.
Another great video. Used to carp fish on the Fox River growing up and when they would surface feed in the foam that would form in some of the wood piles we would fly fish for them. Amazing fight. Bought my first kayak this year and we have a creek near the house with big carp in it so there will be more attempts carp fishing soon.
Like I said in your last video I catch more carp in shallow water than deep water. I never prebait a hole though and never think about it because I know the river where I fish for them. I never even take my boat, I always walk the bank to my favorite spots. I find they generally prefer the calm water right beside a good current break. You'll see them working right up close to the bank most of the time too. I'll probably remember what you said about baiting holes when I retire this year because I'm moving down to the Texas coast. I like to fresh water fish as well as salt water and will be able to do both after I move without having to plan a trip. Although, I'll probably have to pick up a different boat for salt water fishing. My Jon boat may surprise me though as long as I don't get too brave. Do you ever use cut Carp for Catfish bait? I've had good luck with it here and it's why I started Carp fishing in the first place! The fight got me addicted pretty quickly and I now have quite a good investment in Carp fishing gear. I'm really enjoying you fishing for this overlooked species too! Hell, you have to have something to do during the spawn! I'm sure there are others who don't agree with me but they've probably only caught Carp by accident. A big Carp runs so damn hard!
I agree. The carp fights are very addictive. I spend more time thinking about carp than I do catfish these days. I have used carp for bait but I prefer the smaller ones. The bigger carp are such a pain to cut up.
@@KayakCatfish I only keep smaller ones for bait too. A big Common Carp has big scales not unlike a gar. But I use my saws all to cut chunks for vacuum sealing and freezing just like I do Bluegill or Gizzard Shad. Although I pack shad and Bluegill whole and one or two to a pack. Keeping them apart and dry really helps to keep them from getting soft after freezing. Thanks for the reply too! Most UA-cam fisherman don’t reply unless they know the person commenting.
Everything from 12:00 to about 13:25 looks like it is green-screened. What a beautiful background shot, with the reflection on the water. When the kayak moves in those moments, it looks a little bit like Justin was superimposed on the background. Maybe I'm crazy, though.
Justin next time you go fishing for bait you should try using fish bites, I will warn you if you do use them once they are in the water for a little bit and you want to take it off the hook it turns into what I would describe as sticky gum
Nice video mister Justin love your videos keep up the good work and go catch some more big ones for us and stay safe and thank you for the great fishing tips and videos
I love your content but watching you catch everything while I'm out paddling my big hind end all over Boone lake and not even getting a bite is getting OLD! Hahahaha
DEAR JUSTIN the big carps most of the times feeding under the trees ... Wait unthill you hook a carp of more then 40 pound , the sweat will drop all over youre back 😆, and youre little net will be not big enough
Can you hook me up with your catfish sumo link. I need to order quite a few things for some fall Mississippi River fishing and if I have to order, you might as well get a piece of the pie
Hey Justin if you ever find yourself in the middle of Nebraska keep me in mind we have 30 40 lbs carp by the hundreds man I know you would have a great time. PS I know it's NEBRASKA lol have a great day man!
Someday you’re going to catch a channel cat that is “front camera worthy”. 🙏🏼. Joe did a video about carp bait, and I really like his recipe too. Makes a lot of bait though. Scale it down for normal fishers
Man I enjoy watching your videos may I ask how many fishing poles do you own I have at least 30 lol...I am sure you have more than that...I have an obsession with fishing...
Love the fishing and the joking! That spot seemed to be tailor made for cat and carp fishing at the same time with the flat dropping off into the channel. Great video as always!
Hey Justin, in regards to the strawberry jello, do you actually make the jello first (as in boiling the powder and putting in the fridge), or do you just dump the powder in the bag?
Lots of european fans of you will be happy you also target somme carp . And where verry happy you letting them live. Carps always good fighters and good sportfish. Carp cant grow verry big because there is not enough food for cats and carp . So probably carp dont get as big as they should. In europ they becomme easely 20 pound and lots go over 30 and even 40 pound. The record in belgica is 72 pound. The record in france is even bigger...
you seam to be catching alot of carp in the 5 to 10lb class & quite a few that are bigger . where are all the smaller carp because just one of those 10lb fish should be producing thousands of eggs every year and they cant all be eaten and a 1lb carp can eat two grains of corn just as easy as a 10lb fish

Way to go!!!
Catfish obey you because you've mastered the art of communicating your appreciation for them as a catfish whisperer. To catfish, you're family!
Thanks Justin for sharing another fun video of Catfish and the other fish…. Anyway, thanks for the entertainment.
Those clouds reflecting on the water was sweet.
Son of a biscuit! That was a dang good take down! I love how you keep it family friendly 💯 ❤️

That carp toward the end really had some nice yellow color in it tail and fins looked like a stick of butter.
They are a pretty fish. I got another mirror last week too.
