The main issue I noticed with this method is that it only works with the default center of origin. If you have a footage tracked example in AE this method doesn't work? It becomes hectic trying to align the plane and the curve to fit your building target match
I keep trying to render this as a PNG sequence, whenever I try I export it or it does not look like the animated cloth simulation. How can I export this?
@@GraemeBull i tried out your tutorial and it worked, first time using Blender! thank you... do you think you could show how to add it to a building please?
Can you make a full length video of cloth stimulation like an advertisement or something creative
Thank you! It's the exact animation I was looking for!😃
No problem!
thanks for the video it was a great help for me
Glad it helped!
thank you so much for such a brilliant tutorial!
You're very welcome!
thank you for this
thanks a lot man!!
Hey man, nice content.
I dont have this many curve options. Am I suppose to active an option?
Or is this an addon?
Thanks
Thanks! Yes, this is an addon. You should enable "Add curve: curve tools" and "Add curve: extra objects" Installed but not enabled by default.
Get extension > Add: Extra Curve Objects
very usefull! thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for the tutorial! You have helped me a lot! And you explain it very well! Good luck in promoting the channel!
Thank you too!

thankyou so much for the tutorial, but i have one question, the flag is moving, how can we see the flag keyframe?
You'd have to bake the animation
no matter what i do it refuses to roll up in the way i intend. i've literally tried everything.
So so good!
thanks for tutorial
No problem
Will this method work on a paper bag is u wanted to try and animate it opening and closing and rolling up like a sack lunch?
Sort of. I think you’d have to apply a force on it and bake it. Not sure which one though, I haven’t done that
Will an item with thickness, i.e. a carpet, follow the spiral also? I'm looking for a way to animate rolling up a carpet.
should be able to
Thanks man! Legend.
You're welcome!

fantastic video
Thanks!
tq sir, im subscribe
Welcome 👍
How do you make it so that first it's attached to the points and then it gets blown away by the wind? Like the points stop holding it in place?
That's a great question... I'm not sure to be honest. but now I want to know too....
I've been racking my brains on how to do this? If you find out let me know)@@GraemeBull
You add a wind vortex and then you can keyframe the pins
I am quite an amateur with blender. Is it possible to download such a blender project as a template?
I don't think so
would it be possible to replace the cube with a building or something?
sure, put it anywhere you want
@@GraemeBull i tried out your tutorial and it worked, first time using Blender! thank you... do you think you could show how to add it to a building please?
but whenever I move curve then all cloth simulation will disturb could you tell me the reason
the cloth simulation is just a simulation until you bake it
what version of blender do you use
this is an older video so it isn't what I use now, which is 4.1. I can't remember what version I was using for this tutorial unfortunately.
I MAKE POSTER BUT IT IS VERY LONG OF ITS ACTUAL SIZE. WHY?
no idea, I don't know what you made at all.
because the material stretches. You need to turn up the stiffness on the cloth layer
